We just did a 4 day on 4/10-4/14. The ship itself was nice, biggest challenge was the food. Steakhouse 555 was excellent, Cucina Del Capitano was average, Lido Buffet was just ok. Main dining room (your time dining) was terrible. Strip steak was barely edible and wife's chicken breast was very dry. Shaq's chicken was good but I was not feeling well within 4-5 hours of eating (not sure if it was the chicken or the booze) and Guy's burger place was very good. Staff was great, entertainment was passable as we enjoyed the Radiance Rock Band in the Red Frog pub the best. The piano bar player was just flat out bad while the comedy show we saw wasn't very funny (for me at least). All that being said, we absolutely enjoyed the cruise and know that dining/entertainment can be hit and miss. We had some great tacos and cold Tecate's in Ensenda and really enjoyed our time on Catalina (Luau Larry's is a must). We were in room 6451 toward the back of the ship that had a different layout with the bed facing the windows and a longer balcony. Really loved the layout.
Quick question planning a three day trip from LB to Ensenada how was the waves treating you guys ? Scared had horrible experience in the ocean rough waves
Was just on this ship Labor Day week, four night cruise. The ship is very confusing to navigate, got lost or at a dead end all the time; still it is very clean and the staff is fantastic. Hopefully Carnival will crackdown on people who smuggle marijuana onto the ships.
Can someone please tell me how was the process to get on the ship? We have our cruise on this ship next month and im worried we will miss something and unable to get on! Specifically the required negative covid test what if I dont get it bu boarding time?
@@MariaAguilar-me5py if you get your test at Walgreens or CVS on Friday morning, you will get the the results back on Sunday. I did it at Walgreens and it was free. If you get it at the port or at some other places you may have to pay. Also, sign up for VeriFly. It will help you with documentation when you go to board. If you don't you'll have to print out all your documents and get them verified at the port.
Maria bring your original vaccination card (2nd dose at least 10 days before cruise date) or have a digital card (QR code) no copies, no pictures. Make sure your test has all your info on it, name birthdate, date of test, stamp and signed, check before you leave the test site that all the info is correct and negative of course, nothing older then 72 hours will be accepted. Have fun on your cruise!
Just returned from a weekend cruise. What a circus. Some guest had just a little to much to drink and were acting like 10 year olds at the main pool on deck 9. The food was below standards, we had dinner at the steak house and was very unhappy with the quality of the food and the size of the lobster and steaks (SURF AND TURF) Mini sized lobster that looked like it was sick and the steak looked like it was a 4 oz steak. The Caesar salad was very simple and plain, lettuce, a little dressing and some grated parmesan cheese. No croutons... Breakfast NO BACON to be found at the buffett. The breakfast potatoes were over cooked and very dry... Ham was over cooked and looked as if it was saved from the day before. early
This is the worst carnival ship i have been on. 19 carnival cruises. The stadium type lido deck sucked, comedy club was way too small even at 50% capacity, standing room only as other passengers would stand in front of those seated. Oh, the shaq chicken biscuits were so bad i threw it away. Coffee shop hidden in a little corner. If you smoke, forget about it as the smoking area is right at the noisy air vents where there is nothing to look at. Will never ride this ship again. Very disappointed. Don't understand why it was refurbished.
Agree 100% with you. It was like a three ring circus had rolled into town while on the ship. Terribile food, weed being smoked in rooms, on deck 9 and other areas of the ship. Kids running wild with no supervision at all. Never do this cruise again...

They have testing at the port as a worst case, but you can test 3 days before with an antigen test (I got mine at Walgreens)

The Comedy Club was very hard to find on the Radiance! It was hidden near a stairwell and elevator banks.
Yes it was! A very difficult ship to navigate.

pretty much- there are some upcharge restaurants, but don't have to eat at those!
