Not quite true. The inheitance tax rate in Korea is at 50%, one of the highest in the world. This means that for example, when a chaebol who has 50% of the company shares tries to give the “chairman/CEO” position to his kid, they will now only have 25% control over the company, making the company a prime target for private equity funds/corporate hunters. This is why 1st/2nd generation chaebols had total control over the companies, but now as we see more of the 3rd/4th gen chaebols, they have either already lost or about to lose the control over the company that their grandfathers founded. Also, sick and tired of these leftiest demonizing the chaebols, lee jae yong, the current (3rd gen) chairman of Samsung publicly pledged that he will not give his kids any of Samsung’s shares after serving some time in jail due to a ludicrous corruption charges that I personally think he’s innocent from.

(I read too much manhwa)
🤣🤣
Lmfao it's funny the way you say it, cuz Cebol mean dwarf in my country language 😂
this is actually game of thrones
Well its pretty common in the west too, u know things that are called family businesses and family owned corporations. But the difference is that they dont own biggest part of the countries economy like Samsung does
It’s the same everywhere 😂 (btw here some second/third gen dumb heirs managed to crash/sell the family business)
Stephanie is beautiful ❤
Can there please be more competition instead these companies only. The economy being so heavily dependent on them is so risky
This is one of the themes of dune, Frank Herbert calls it "bureaucratic aristocracy"
Tenryubito is crazy 💀😭
Basically chaebols.... Are the rich CEO of kdramas...
END OF DISCUSSION!!
But they are not as beautiful as in kdrama or marry the poor girl/self made woman/secretary😅
You don't need to cry over this it happens in every country the rules are made to control the poor class not super rich/famous people they can get away with anything
Let them cook, tho
I don't know anyone more capable of running country's most important companies than people who were born in the family that started it. They are 24/7 in the biz, they were raised in conference rooms and are in constant proximity to people who made all the best decisions to get where they are right now.
Classic kdrama
That's the same in INDIA too ,
lol they marry each other except in south korean dramas.
They look like bosses
❤❤❤
Kinda similar in India top 1% hold more than 40% of total national wealth
...and only 1percent of India's population are paying taxes
I am just feeling a strong urge to speak it out, that you exactly look same with a crush of mine in Chinese university! What's even surprising is she speaks English with same tone🤯🤯.
Seems like there are more than one Ashleys in the world😅
I honestly feel bad for them. Must be a lot of pressure. Some of them won’t get the chance to even THINK about what their dream job could be.
I thinks its common for rich to marry into rich, a poor person would not be even in the picture, its only happens in the movies. Ofcourse there are rare cases, but thats all.
And also many owners of the big companies do a lot of these for the people.
Ex :- i know is the TATA group they donate around 66% of their profit. There shares are held by charities.
The same TATA group that is closing down plants with fossil-powered furnances under ecological pretenses in the UK just to build new ones in India? Look up their doings in Port Talbot
Chaebol is south korea's kim jong un
What's wrong with you? Of course it stays in the family.
It's called legacy...
Happens in thailand, vietnam etc. The rich marries other rich families
a true dystopia
Wow never knew that about samsung
So, it's basically like cyberpunk dystopia.
Where your life is controlled by conglomerates.
From an outsider's pov these people might be lucky, but I can't imagine the level of family politics they have 😢
sounds like a feudal lord of new era.
Who gonna be next chairman it's gonna be one of their kids..... yeah no shit
Ah yes, the two Koreas, they place where one is a totally authoritarian communist dystopia and the other is a owned by companies cyberpunk dystopia
isn't it okay for them to save their family's companies to like their families lmao
No, in Chinese it's 财阀 which is pronounced cai fa. Also there's no "ra"
we need a Chaebol version of Succession
There's no incest but there's definitely inbreeding.
So they’re basically medevil europe. Eventually they will become a single family 😂
This is the reality
If someone's grandpa started Samsung then it should stay wid them, whats wrong?
With the way it's going, they soon WILL marry "each other"
I wish a Chaebol daughter would marry me 😂😂
I saw a meme where it said " if Korean chaebols didn't exist and it was her as a cashier " 💀😭
yeah there is a name for Chaebol in English, bourgeoisie
It's not South Korea, it's Samsung Korea
“It’s no game of thrones”
With only 2 dozens families give it a few more generations and we’ll be there
The sacred twenty-eight.
Took the Samsung ecosystem to another level. Introducing Samsung marriage
