I worked for a couple FedEx contractors. The first I mainly did night line haul. Second one, I did daytime spot runs, a $250 flat rate per day, plus an additional $25 for each spot I do after 12 stops, I believe. One other con is that it's easy to get fired. You make one mistake, you're pretty much history with the contractor, but FedEx will allow you to go to another contractor.
Yeah I mean Trucking in general has little room for error. But you’re so right, the job security is all hanging on one persons decisions. They could pull out of fedex or sell the business at any given time. The work life balance is harsh to say the least. Thats not good at all, 12 stops is a lot. Fedex leaves little room for contractors to make any money let alone the employees under them. I hope you are with a better company now brother.
This is just my take. It really depends on your area as well. The contractor I work for works the Ohio valley region and I can usually finish my route in 8 to 9 hours. 300 bucks a day . My only true great is that the terminals very rarely have the loads ready on time so you spend a lot of time waiting which is aggravating considering you drive at night and you're fighting to stay awake as it is
@@TeachMeZay exactly! Thats not bad, the pay is great the only reason I moved on bc they refused to let me work m-f. Wanted me sun-fri every week and I have a 3 year old at home.
Im currently with a contractor now. Out of Connecticut. I usually go to Upstate NY, VT, NH, ME, MA, RI, CT. I hate traveling up to Burlington, Vermont. Long and boring night drive. I get paid $300/day. I just need $100 more and I'll stay at my sleeper! 😂😂😂😂
Yeah man I went regional with another company off weekends now and day shift for most part. Plus not doing same thing every day now. Fedex contractor is good experience but not a job Id want to do for years upon years
Another HUGE con is working on every single major holiday. No money is worth missing memorable time with family.
What if you have no family

Either you do it long term or short term. Just have a plan because co drivers come and go randomly. Other than that it is what it is!!
Do you take the truck home or have you to park it at terminal everyday?
They wouldn’t let anyone take em home. I parked at a shop. Depends on your contractor. You will be working for a independent contractor
Been UA for 4 years now
Great information really appreciate it
Would you rather more pay or more benefits?
Personally home time is more important to me. And good benefits. Everyone’s situation is different though! No problem man glad you enjoyed. 🤙
Great review thanks
Glad it was helpful!

@@MikeThaPhilosopher i was getting off work around 7-9 am depending on route.
Question how many hours working each day?
@@alexmotakio0487 depends on your route. It varies
Do they make you do a driving test in orientation ?
@@JoJo-do6jt hey so it depends on the contractor, yes mine did and I believe the contractors are required to.
Yes they do
Wasn't bad review I mean I've heard way worse
