- Demo of the OP-1 and why I finally decided to buy!
I’ve been wanting an Op-1 for about 10 years now but could never really justify the expense. This was before I started selling beats and thought my money would be better spent on other pieces of gear and plugins. When the Op-1 dropped back in 2011 the list price was right around $850. I feel like people didn’t really know how to take this little white synthesizer at first like is it a toy or is it a serious piece of music/recording equipment. It didn’t take long for most people to realize that this was the synth that all wanted and needed but didn’t even know it.

I can’t drop that bread 🍞 on that when ya can get a mpc for that price especially with dated synthesizers I don’t know why they haven’t made a new version yet if I had the money to blow I so would tho

there are a tonne of better options now unless you are stuck on making dawless lofi mix tapes (cos its a thing). opz for a start
absolutely a lot of options out there. Its funny I have an opz too. Gonna be doing some vids showing that the op-1 isn't just a lofi synth/sampler too. stay tuned!
