- Pontianak is the capital of the Indonesian province of West Kalimantan. It is a large trading port city on the island of Borneo. Pontianak occupies an area of 107.82 km² in the delta of the Kapuas River. It is located almost precisely on the equator, hence it is widely known as Kota Khatulistiwa (Equator City). The city center is actually less than 3 kilometres (2 mi) south away from the equator

Gema Khatulistiwa I only saw one bule in Pontianak,myself.Nice place.Good to see haram stuff like satay ular for sale.Chinese can do thier adat stuff there no problem.Theres Dayaks to balance the population too,keeps the madurese etc in line.

Hi Colijn another great video. I like the riverside boardwalk. It is amazing how these people lived along the river. I see people bathing in it. Because of you we are fortunate to have this kind of experience which in our life time not able to do so. Do you start off from where you stay? And how you get back? Just asking. Thanks, nice video btw. just wondering though, what did you have in mind when you were walking there? knowing that this place used to be Dutch territory during Dutch colonization of Indonesia, the Dutch East Indies 1800-1942, formally recognized Indonesian sovereignty in 1949, about one generation ago - not that long, eh? and it is in the middle of no where on the globe.
People drive on the sidewalk so crazy on the bridge, and I never see any video you eating on the street food in this country, thank for share your video...

Ni org kalo jalan2 suka di plosok2, masuk lorong2 lah...masuk pemukiman lah...bener2 gk biasa!! Dan kadang2 ngebuat "malu" soalny kadang2 ada sampah, dia ini bkn tipe turis yg jalan2 di pusat kota, tapi tipe traveller yg suka explore tanah yg dia pijaki, whoaaa!!

start di depan kampus ku STIE Indonesia, di kantin depan kampus biasa makan batagor. tapi sayang bukan walking di pusat kota pontianak, ini pinggiran pontianak, ini zona yang rawan bagi warga kota pontianak. setidaknya sudah datang ke pontianak, thanks Mr Kees Colijn

I am a 1970 Vietnam combat medic veteran, I have visited the Philippines, but now I think I can say I’ve seen everything. I am referring to those individuals in the video, washing & brushing their teeth in that brown river water! Keezi really outdid himself with this walk. I love the sound of call to prayers in the morning!

I think this video was taken on friday and the sound from speaker is the friday praying for moslem.
Ya ampun, itu kenapa ada pemotor lewat jalan yang dilalui oleh Kees Colijn? Kalau di Jembatan Mahakam, jalan itu hanya untuk kendaraan tidak bermotor seperti sepeda dan juga untuk pejalan kaki.
Itulah indonesia
awal nya memang untuk sepeda sm pejalan kaki tetapi krn di jembatan kapuas sering macet parah maka di perlebar agar pemotor bisa lewat gak kecebak macet

ya que no se nadar....y cuando veo la imagen de la cámara sobre esa angosta pasarela de madera, aunque al parecer no es profundo, ya
que veo gente higienizándose dentro del mismo...no caminaría nunca por ese trayecto...y si lo llegara a hacer, me imagino que me caería
al agua.....

maaf sebelumnya disitu emang gak ada rambu yg bilang kalau itu khusus pejalan kaki. atau larangan buat pengendara motor lewat disitu.

Those boardwalks don't look safe at all. Especially with those damn motorcyclists driving down on them. And especially with little children on them. They could early be pushed into the water.those bikes should be banned on them.
