The last guy is doing it right, actually. It's called a "spotter" not a "toucher": "spot" the bar being lifted, "spot" the lifter fail his lift, "spot" the lifters face turn purple.... but NO TOUCH!

You can spot someone without touching the bar. You just stand by and wait, if they get stuck you tap the bar past the stick point and let go, or of they dont, then your not interfering.

Last guy posted on Twitter...he told the "spotter" not to interfere and to stop anyone coming, he knows how to bail on his own. Context folks, it means everything.

The guy at the end he does exactly what I do in the gym when I used to spot people. Some people lift more than they can handle, and then they want somebody to spot them but then they are also at the same time upset that you are spotting them. So I don't even touch the bar till they say help other than that I do exactly what that guy did don't touch the bar let the ego get crushed.
That's why I say communication is key, I tell people if you see me struggling and I'm not getting past 5 in above the chest then you may touch the bar to help lift it off. Some people just don't have any communication skills👈🤷♀️😐

If you ever spotted someone on a bench press, you know how difficult it is to lift the barbell standing way back.
In this case the spotter was actually wise not to try to lift it and just let the guy figure it out himself.
