Hi.. Great video.... But when you release the timing chain tensioner you shoulfd had the 2 camshaft bolts hand tighten....in order to be able to proper tighten the chain without any tension between crankshaft and camshafts..... Then you torq the 2 bolts on camshaft for 14 or 16 or monre NM... Then you unlock the crank/camshafts.... Then you gonna rotate the engine untill you gonna be able to fit the 3rd camshaft bolt.... and then torq this one as well like others 2......(14/16/or more NM) And then if u gonna rotate the engine the camshaft and crankshaft are gonna be sync perfect whiteout any unnecessarily tension. Ps Probably that why the pin didn't match with camshaft locking tool when you rotate theengine. You have all my respect! 👍

Thank you very much for the great videos. I will change the timing chain on my E61 525d this year. 2 Questions that i have 1. Which oil do you use for camshaft? Do you also have to separate the wheel from the fuelpump/injektorpump which this special Tool before removing the Timing chain Cover like you showed in the video of the older version of this motor? Thank you
If you going to start the engine after day or two , after removal of the camshafts , you can use even a normal engine oil 5W40 , but if the engine is going to sit longer for assembly , it is good idea to use assembly lube . You can separate the fuel pump gear after the removal of the timing chain cover . It doesn't make any difference .
