Merci
It is so nice to hear the softer, more Cliquot side of this organ. I love the big stuff too, but with big organs like this, it is easy to forget to register the quieter stuff. Bravo.
I think this is the first time I have noticed, but I think it's wonderful how they use the perspex to extend the music desk at the console. They have taken so much care in preserving the instrument that they have found a practical way of being able to have more music in front of the organist without actually changing the console.

I don't know why I've not yet commented on this recording (at least I don't believe I have!), I first listened to it not long after it was first posted. Cannot begin to describe how joyful I find this recording, the Buxtehude Ciacona in e is one of my favorite works and this interpretation is the best I've yet heard.... Thank you for posting this.
Thank you so much for posting thought we were going to miss out. Superb playing by M. Boheme nothing like Bach before breakfast (video received early morning). Merry Christmas and happy new year to all those involved in bringing the music to those of us in far off lands.
What's amazing about this instrument, considering its size (5 manuals + pedal clavier) is the fact that it is a genuine tracker... Not the easiest instrument to play when multiple couplers are engaged. A mechanical marvel in itself played by a master. A great way to spend three-quarters of an hour.
No, it isn´t a genuine tracker! The trackers that run from the keys have no direct connections to those who run to the ventils in the chest. Same way with the registration. Without the pneumatics the console would have been impossible to build in this dimensions.
ALSO: the camera angle looking down on the console is really good. The view feels expansive and you can observe the execution of the music very well. I would think this would make a good default view when not focusing on the pedals.
I wish you included the Bach Toccata. He played it wonderfully. I know something got stuck at the end, but hey, it just adds to the charm of this instrument... :)
This first piece sounds quite similar to something Bach later composed. Is there some influence to be found here? Interesting piece, quite clear considering the enormous reverb of the building.
It's a Buxtehude piece, Buxtehude was by far the most influencing composer Bach. Bach travelled hundreds of miles on foot to go study with Buxtehude when Bach was still young.
I guess you're mentionning the ciacone, so yes definitely Bach must have heard/played this piece and the two other pasacaglias written by Buxtehude during his stay in Bux's area, inspiring him his own pasacaglia 😉
The fantasie and Fugue BWV 562 was, I think, played too fast. The first time I heard this piece was many years ago played by Macel DuPre when he was getting on in years. So emotional I almost wept.

Grossartige Interpretation - super Registrierung, zeigt, wie gut auch ein Buxtehude an dieser Orgel darstellbar ist. Glückwunsch an Ulrich Böhme!!!

Some musicians are God's gifts on earth and Ullrich Böhme is one of theese gifts musically and humanly.
Thanks for posting this amazing organ concert.
Prof Bohme shows a not often heard side of the organ: lovely!
Incredible concert congratulations

Ailsa Rodrigues Hello ! It’s not a pieces serie from Bach but from Dietrich Buxtehude ! Have a really nice day !
I was referring to the last two pieces . Have a great day
Maravilloso concierto. Gracias, Pierre- François

This organ has "Barker lever", so it isn't so hard to play.

Very nice concert.
Lovely harmonium in the opening credits of the video!
The Bach master!!
That Messiaen piece sounds perfect for a haunted house movie or Halloween thrill ride.

Wonderful :)
Grandioso!!!!

You bet on that. But Johann Sebastian did not want to marry Buxtehude's daugher.

Where can I find that Brahms requiem transcription by Phillips? Looked online and didn’t find anything!
The best baroque performs almost no heels in the pedals 😁

That is seriously butch playing.
