Some debate regarding some questions: - The largest city: Going on the METROPOLITAN measurement, Mexico City's population is larger that Sao Paulo (21,804,515 vs 21,734,682). I could've phrased this better, I admit. - Norway being Scandinavian : Scandinavia is a subregion of Northern Europe, with strong historical, cultural, and linguistic ties between its constituent peoples. Scandinavia most commonly refers to Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. It can sometimes also refer to the Scandinavian Peninsula - Silicon Valley location: Located in the southern part of the San Francisco Bay Area, it corresponds roughly to the geographical area of the Santa Clara Valley. It is definitely NOT located in any of the other options given for that question. - Number of countries AND INDEPENDENT TERRITORIES in North America: 23 They are: Antigua and Barbuda Bahamas Barbados Belize Canada Costa Rica Cuba Dominica Dominican Republic El Salvador Grenada Guatemala Haiti Honduras Jamaica Mexico Nicaragua Panama Saint Kitts and Nevis Saint Lucia Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Trinidad and Tobago United States of America There are also more than two dozen non-sovereign territories part of North America.

Really interesting quiz! Some easy, some challenging, some I should have known but couldn't quite locate in brain within the time limit. Not many that I had no idea about.
As a geography nerd, this quiz was right within my wheelhouse, allowing me to hit higher than ever on your Richter scale of quiz performance for my first ever Curie... 97/101! Three of my four wrong answers were on the first picture round, guess the landmark. A few of those I hadn't heard of before. The only other one I missed was which city is the largest in the Americas, and I found that answer to be a bit debatable.
@bigpumpkin22 I had to Google that idiom "piss in your own pocket" because we don't use that in America lol. But no I don't usually brag about my scores being good, in fact if you look at my comments on other Detormentis quizzes I'm usually much more humble about my performances, because I often only get a Hawking level score, and feel like I missed some easy questions. I even specifically mentioned in one of those quiz comments that if I got Curie it probably meant I got lucky with the category selection, and today's quiz proved that. Geography has always been a favorite subject of mine. I credit the 1990s American kid's game show, WHERE IN THE WORLD IS CARMEN SANDIEGO?, for piquing my interest in world geography from a young age. As its target demographic is preteens, there is a lot of humor, flashy visuals... not to mention catchy songs. I consider myself lucky to have grown up in the right place and time to have had this amazing show as part of my childhood. I honestly don't know if I would have become such a geography buff without it. Of course I have other strong subjects, and may have a shot at Curie level again if a quiz is made that is fully devoted to one of these subjects (I'm sure there are a lot of people who would ace a cat-themed quiz!), but in mixed-category General Knowledge quizzes, I am happy with reaching Einstein and indeed I give myself a pat on the back if I get that far. I certainly don't think of myself as a Mark Labbett-esque trivia genius by any means.

Q98. That is the flag of the Republic of Ireland (sometimes referred to as Southern Ireland). The flag of Northern Ireland is the United Kingdom’s Union Flag (commonly called the Union Jack).

The modified Mercalli scale is now more often used to describe the intensity of an earthquake since it’s a better indicator of destructive power than the Richter scale. They’re both used though! 92, losing 4 points on flags.
I did much much better than I expected, with 85 correct! Bonus is Richter scale. Thank you for another great quiz Sean, but please let me add that that ticking clock at the end is so annoying and distracting! We could do without that, thank you!😻💕💙
