I have one, exact type and honestly it's better than my 60s Fender Japan.. one of the best Strat I ever played so far.. also that Duncan pickups tone are crazy good.. !!!
I've read in forums that you can take the foil tape wrapped around the pickups off and it sounds completely different, in a great way. i have the 70's Vintage Modified Blacked out with Maple neck. Love it
@@Electric.Flamingo That's good news! Love me a nice Banana Cream finish. I have a Harley Benton DC-600 VI in that same color. My wife calls it the Banana guitar...not lovingly LOL!
I have a VM Tele Deluxe with Fender branded Full Range Humbuckers ( the CV and newer SD are branded Squier )and Fender saddles. I love mine, it's white, black pickguard and big head stock. Bought it in 2019 for $150 from a retired K9 cop. I will Never sell it. I love MarketPlace for deals, though the market has went nuts now. I bought a Squier Deluxe in Pearl with DD pickups, basswood body, it was Beautiful. They only made that one and a Daphne Blue in that model. Again 150!! with a sweet Roadrunner case.Sadly because of inflation, needed the money, sold it for $300( without the case). To me it was worth much more, hated to do it.... The MP Gods give and they take away 😊 Keep doing your thing, cool channel!
Tele Deluxes are awesome! I hate that you had to sell the other one, but hey you still got the first one! I appreciate you checking out the channel! ⚡️🦩
I've got the same model and will never sell it. I got this used from GC and it came without a whammy bar. I was hoping someone here could recommend the correct whammy to get. Thanks and keep the videos coming.
You should bring able to just get one on Amazon or really any music store. I would just make sure it's made for a Squier if you go to Amazon, I'm not 100% certain a Fender arm would fit a Squier.
Great video! I bought a used classic vibe from guitar center online and received a vintage modified instead. I was going to return it and pick up a new CV but after setting the VM up, I decided to keep it. I was planning on swapping the CV pickups but I ended up digging the SC101s in the VM! The trem and nut are kind of shit and there’s glue splotches on the upper frets. Other than that I think it’s a great little guitar.
Good video, I think I might have owned one of these, great value for money I seem to remember could be wrong but they have a slightly thinner body? Not affinity thin but still not as thick as a standard Strat body?
I have owned a few Fenders and obviously played numerous, to me this feels full thickness. I believe the VM and the CVs both have full thickness bodies. I had a Squier Standard that had a full thickness body!
I own the same model. I did not like the stock pickups as to my ears they did not sound very Strat-like. The clarity I would expect was not there and they sounded like they had a higher output with increased mid-range - s bit more like humbuckers. I swapped mine out for a set of Bare Knuckles pickups called Irish Tour. I think I made a mistake here as they had a similar (but improved) version of the sound of the Duncan-designed SC-101's. I'm not sure if I'm going to try for another pick-up swap out OR put the original pickups back in and sell the guitar and also sell the Bare Knuckle pickups. It is definitely a comfortable guitar to play - no doubt about that. BUT I'm beginning to wonder if the advantage of the lighter weight - because of the basswood body - is also having a negative impact on its sound? I've read that Basswood makes Stats less snappy and gives a warmer sound with more mid-range. A Strat is not really supposed to sound that way.
I definitely can see where you are coming from with the pickups. I have considered swapping out the Duncan Designed but I dig the way they sound. I have never played Bare Knuckles, but I have heard a lot of guitars with various models and they all sound pretty good! As for the weight, I think they weigh about the same as a Fender since these Squiers have the full sized body, but that's just me. I love the weight!
@@Electric.Flamingo Basswood is a less heavy/dense wood compared to Alder. As Fenders are usually made from alder - this squier vintage modified guitar made from basswood definitely weighs less than a Fender - trust me!! If you like the sound of the stock pickups that's great - but they do not give the typical Strat sound in my opinion.
I've had one of these for - nearly ten years. I just got a cheap guitar bas I was planning to convert it to fretless. I fell in love with it and just couldn't do it. Even though up until just yesterday it had a frustrating intonation problem i couldnt resolve. Now that it is, I've fallen in love with it all over again. Love the SC 101s but whacked an air Norton in the bridge.

Not sure about that one, never heard anything like that before.
Sounds awesome man! Glad you jumped on for another video!
Thanks, dude! I should be back pretty regularly for the foreseeable future!

You deserve more subs man
I appreciate that, my guy! 🤘🦩

I love the pick ups too! I have the same issues with the glue towards the nut on mine.
Just got one yesterday at the pawn shop for a bill and it's a monster
Stupid deal on that, dude. They punch way above that, so you most certainly came out on top with that one!
