I have a cat 27 and love it. That one he just looked at is nice. Good luck.

I almost bought a 1994 C320 several years ago. I've owned 5 Catalina boats over the course of about 40 years, but I'm glad I passed on the 1994 C320. I like many things about the 320's design, but the first couple years of production (I think up to about hull #275) had a compartmentalized bilge structure in which many of the stringers did not have limber holes. As a result, water that made its way in (via deck fitting leaks, tank leaks, shaft seal or other sources) could not drain to the bilge pump location. The result is trapped water that stagnates and becomes a mildewed source of nasty odors. This was corrected in later years (1996 onward). Also, the early models had a rather shallow bilge with no real sump. So it was difficult to get most bilgewater pumped out.
Also, later years of 320 production typically had Yanmar engines, which I feel is a better option than the Perkins.

Hi Rob. That's great info on the Catalinas! The Jeanneau we ended up purchasing in the end - th-cam.com/video/enrAP0BFN8U/w-d-xo.html - has limber holes, and bilge well, albeit a small one. I'm planning on upgrading the bilge pump system this season.
Count me as a Yanmar fan too. I know no engine is perfect, but I do like the marine-from-the-get-go aspect. I understand this means no cheaper tractor parts available a-la Beta Marine, but it still makes me feel a bit better.

That is very helpful. I’ve had 3 Catalinas. Looking at 32s and 34’s. Will adjust my searches up a bit.

Howdy. I am also looking to get started! Do you happen to recall what the asking price was for the Catalina 320? Thx

Hi from Norman, Oklahoma. I purchased "Option #1". Watching your video and then noticed, "Hey, that's my boat!" LoL

      OMG! So cool!
We liked it a lot, but for us Racine, WI was so much closer for moving...plus, worked out for you :)
      How are you liking it?

@@LivingtheMiddle Oh I don’t blame you. Cost of moving a boat is expensive. I love the boat. I purchased the boat on June 28th. From that day on it was “Project Overhaul”. The entire boat was thoroughly cleaned, new upholstery through out, new windows, all new lines and sheets, replaced all faucets, all new plumbing fittings, new hot water tank, new batteries, new charger, all new light fixtures, switched everything to LED, added on board heat and air, buffed and polished the hull, all new vinyl stripes and graphics and will be starting the bottom job the first week of January.

I dug up an email fro when we were looking and I think it was $35,000. You could ask Jarret Henderson (in the comments here)...he actually bought the Catalina we looked at :)
