- These double cylinder deadbolt‘s are not as easy as you might think they are to install. Everything‘s gonna be lined up so the keys will do what they need to do and retract correctly. If you tighten everything up too much too fast you lock the mechanism. Planning it out is a necessity. Once do you understand how it works it’ll make the job a lot easier. A little bit of oil can go along way in these mechanisms **************************************************

Few tips as a locksmith: Do not ever put oil in a pin-tumbler lock! This can really gum up your lock. Use lighter lubricants like tri-flow, PTFE, or my favourite, Fluid Film (this is what Medeco warranties their locks with). Also, make sure that the hole for the deadbolt on the jamb side is at least 1 inch deep. Anything less will prevent the bolt from deadlocking, hence making it incredibly easy to open with a screwdriver. Last, make sure you have the right strike plate. This ensures smooth operation. As a bonus, you can add a security strike plate with 3" screws, but that may not be necessary if it is a low-security interior setting.
Can I use 3-In-One Oil, or Olive Oil cooking spray, or caster bean oil..?!
Key locks should always be installed so that the teeth of the keys point up. At 2:37 in the video, the lock is installed upside down; at 2:42, it is installed correctly.

Very straightforward Its definitely tricky at that last stage and the " A" on the metal plate where the bolt comes out is upside-down, but the bolt works!! 😊👍Now make videos on how to fix your car! (Lol) Great video!
I installed a double cylinder dead bolt lock tonight and followed the directions completely. The mechanism works great, however only if I dont tighten the screws. Why does it not work when the screws are tight?. Shouldnt they be tight so the housing doesnt move around. The screws dont appear to get in the way of the action, so why wont the lock engage when theyre tight? What am I missing?

Having a window on my door that could be easily broken allowing access to the inside “thumb turn”, I need a double cylinder dead bolt.
Wish the opposite existed. I need two deadbolts on BOTH sides

Hi what it worked for me was i pretended like i was installing it on the air a couple of times till i had it figured it out and then it tooked me less then 5 minutes to set up in my front door
The keeys teeth's needs to be pointing up also the name brand of the (schlage) needs to be pointing up that will align perfect to the screw's hole and DB face on both sides i only need it one key to installed it
