This temple features nine secret underground passages that lead to the main underground chamber. The Shiva Linga in the temple, which stands 5 feet tall, is carved from a hard, dark brown material that is not identifiable as being from Earth. Geologists have been unable to determine the type of stone used. an interesting and mysterious event occurs every 60 years here. In a mysterious way, the temple’s main chamber fills up with water, which rises powerfully over the Shiva Linga.
Many people believe that the Shiva Linga was brought from the Shiva Loka by Lord Shiva himself.
The current temple structure that we see today dates back to the 3rd century BCE. However, local people claim that the temple is much older, possibly over 12,000 years old. Historical records suggest that numerous ancient Hindu kings visited this remote temple.

Please dont take as offend. People from Tirupathi are tamils. Due to get Madras, tamils gave up Tirupathi to andhara by negotiation. Even today you can check at tirumala all old stone carvings in tamil and old documents like prayer and festival instructions are in tamil. Even 6months before 3 ancient stone carving found in Kasi Gnavabi mosque . One of the stone carved in tamil. Tamil is not only restricted to current tamilnadu. It was all Naga's(origin Indians more than 65%) lanuage. Due to many invasion it destroyed from north. Now all archeological finding start proving this.

It's near to my place (Tirupati). One more fact about that great temple is that in a single statue there are Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. In the down part Lord Brahma, in middle Lord Vishnu and on top Lord Shiva and yes it's mysterious that the water comes to the temple and it completely covers the statue and leaves from that place for every 60 years once. The dating is false information, the writing on the temple is not from BCE but it was from late 7th Century CE. Because, you can find the same writing in Brihadeeswara Temple which was build in 10th Century CE.
