Thank you so much for the instructions, you made this so much easier than simply following the manual. Clear, concise, easy to follow and now our 3 year old seems very comfortable in it.
Thanks for the video. My monkey is outgrowing his Joie Anchor and we want to keep him rear facing for longer, we were thinking the minikid but with the move being so much cheaper wanted to make sure it wasn't too complicated to install safely. Definitely think this will be our next seat!
@@RearFacingToddlers it's taken seven months (hasn't had a growth spurt for ages) but we've just bought one from your store, so happy we can keep him rearwards for a bit longer x
This video is so helpful thank you. I just wondered whether it makes a difference which way you pass the loop under the car seat rails as I noticed when you did it on the seat inside it was passed through the same was as the Axkid's instruction video but in the car you passed it through the opposite way x
Great video,we just bought this one for our middle child but I have trouble finding where to attach that belts(front seat is sliding and that plastic under can't hold and the steel spring has no slots for me to pull through only holes)🙈 Can you help me?
Hello, thanks for this video, we watched carefully to install our proper seat. We just have one tiny problem: our car reveals being too small regarding the angle. It takes a lot of space! My husband can't seat at the front of the car. (a Dacia Sandero 2018). We cannot even put the baby seat on the edge of the original seat. And in the end, the head of our son (20 months) goes forward ech time he falles asleep. Which car did you install the seat on? Got some tips? (my husband says "please!") Thanx Laura from France
The car in this video is a 2016 Landrover Discovery Sport. It may help if you get the wedge and install it with the reclining foot folded underneath and the wedge under it. Your son is only little, so doesn't need a lot of legroom yet, so the Move doesn't need to go over the edge as I did in this video. In some families where one of the parents (usually dad) is tall, having a big car seat in the back does mean that that tall adult can no longer sit in the passenger seat and has to do all the driving. It is worth having a look at how reclined your front seat is as well. You can usually gain quite a lot of space in the back without losing any front legroom, simply by making the front seat a little more upright.
Hi, we bought 2 of these for our twins almost 2 years ago. For a while now we have a problem with belts. When we are buckling them up it is really hard to pull the belts. I know from you personally that it should be smooth and easy move but like I said, now I really have to use all my strength to pull it. Any advice what could happened?
I never washed it, but I have changed the straps height. It started to be hard to pull after a few months of almost everyday usage. I thought maybe it might be just wear and tear under that condition. (?)
Thank you for the video. I tried to install the Move seat today at a Nissan micra 2001 but when I try to stretch the belt and lock the clip, the clip hits at the plastic of the belt. I think the problem is solved when I open the extender of the seat but with this way the seat is very reclined and I dont have space for the passenger and also for the legs in the future. Is there a way to solve the problem? I have a minikid 2 in my other car. Do you believe the problem will be solved if a switch the seats?
Unfortunately older Nissans have very long bely buckle straps and that makes installing these seats very difficult. I think I tried a Minikid in a Micra once and had the same problem. YOu could try the Minikid to see if you can make it work. Do you have a wedge for your Minikid? That will help, but again, it will make the seat take up more depth in the car. The only solution would be to fold out the recline foot and/or add a wedge to move the clip further away from the belt buckle. Or perhaps install it in the front seat if the car doesn't have an airbag or it can be switched off.
@@RearFacingToddlers thank you very much for the reply. I have a wedge for the minikid which I don't use. I will try different ways to see which suits best. I will also contact Axkid
hi, would you be able to show me how to install it on the middle seat please. I have kia carens 2017, and I was wondering how do you attach the tether straps thank you
Hi, When you install a car seat in the middle seat you simply attach the tethers to the inner rails of each front seat. th-cam.com/video/mnfM4-L8pq8/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for the video. In Greece there is no store selling the Axkid Move so my only choice is minikid 2. The problem is that is big for my small car(hundai atos) and i would like to know if axkid move leaves more space to the front seat. Perhaps you have an idea since you have experience from both car seats. Thanks for your time in any case!
Hi, The Minikid and the Move are the same size, the Minikid just has more features, such as self adjusting headrest height and self tightening tether straps. But the amount of room they take up in the car is the same. I have fitted the Minikid in quite a lot of small cars such as the Fiat 500 and the Ford Fiesta. It just depends on how much room the front passenger needs, if the front seat can do forward quite far, then the Minikid will fit.
Hi, thank you for the video. I have a Hyundai i10 and after installing, following this video my passenger seat is so far forward. How much leg room does a 3 year old (average height) require. Also, is there any other way of stealing some extra space back. The front passenger seat it pretty much bolt upright, and I’m 5’7 and my knees are literally on the dash board. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks
If you move the front seat al the way forward before you install one of these car seats, they do steal quite a lot of space and probably give the child more legroom and recline than they need. The trick is to move the front seat as far forward and as upright as the tallest passenger can comfortably sit in. And then you install the car seat in the space that's left. I remember installing a Minikid in an i10 a few years ago and I fitted in the front seat, I'm 5'7" myself. I can't put an exact measurement on how much legroom a three year-old needs, but it's less than you might think.
@@RearFacingToddlers thank you. I reinstalled the seat with less leg room, and my daughter seems happy enough and has a lot of space. A lot more space than in her sirona. I can even fit in the passenger seat more comfortably. I'm happy to send photos if you want to share them.
You will need to attach the straps underneath the front seat and then they come up behind the car seat. This is not possible in vans where the bottom of the seat is boxed in, but if the seat has metal legs, or the it lifts up and there are metal bars under the seat, these can be used to tether to.
We have this car seat and unfortunately my mums new car the rails are flat to the floor and she says unable to get the tethers under. Is there an alternative way to thread the tethers or do I need a new seat? Thank you
Hi, A new seat won’t help because these high limit seats all use tether straps. There is always a way, I show a few different options in this video: How To Attach Tether Straps For Rear Facing Car Seats Up To 25kg/36kg To The Front Seat th-cam.com/video/tDwrKfeHLww/w-d-xo.html
Hi, does the back back have to sit over the edge of seat, or is it like the minikid where it can be on the seat? In our car if it that far back there isn’t much space for passenger. Also how can this be installed with the wedge for a deeper recline? Thanks
Hi, You can position it anywhere on the seat just like the Minikid. The wedge comes up as one of the questions in this video. th-cam.com/video/wnghGI8eaqs/w-d-xo.html
If you were installing one in the middle seat would you be able to attach two tether straps to one runner rail (so one for the middle car seat and one for a car seat next to it?) Or do you have to use the two outer seats if both seats tether to the floor?
Hi not sure if you'll see this or be able to help. i've got an axkid move and i want to purchase another as i'll be caring for twins soon. the original move is by the door and on the opposite side is a britax romer kidfix 111s isofix. i need the new move to go in the centre seat. but my worry is how easy or difficult will the install be as the clips for the main belt are next to eachother. ive been trying to think of other configurations, but i dont want to risk the older kids undoing the move accidently when they undo their seat. i have a 7 seater toyota verso 66 i will have two other hbb in the car, in the back seats.
To prevent one of the other children accidentally unbuckling the Move, I would cover the Move's belt buckle. The best way to do this is to cut the toe off a small sock. Pass the sock over the buckle before you clip it in and then when the seat is fully installed, pull the sock up over the buckle to hide it. A black sock is best, because then the children won't notice it and won't be tempted to play with it.
I cant find the rails on the back of the front seats in my Honda civic? It says on axkids website that it should fit in our car but there's nothing to strap the straps onto??
It’s the rails that the seat slides backward and forwards on, all cars have them. The video in this link will help you. How To Attach Tether Straps For Rear Facing Car Seats Up To 25kg To The Front Seat th-cam.com/video/tDwrKfeHLww/w-d-xo.html
Please could you let me know how long the leg extends to? We have a VW Crafter Van which is essentially the same as a Mercedes Sprinter (which is on the fit list) but I am concerned the leg won’t be long enough. Thank you!
Yes, that's ok. In most cars it will touch, just because of how much space it takes up, and it is good for it to touch, but if you need to slide the front seat forward for a shorter driver, that's fine too as the seat has a support leg.
Does the front seat have to sit against the back of it? I have twins, so i need to have one either side and if i was to put the driver seat back enough, i may not reach the pedals 🤣
Yes it can. Some car manufacturers (like Ford and VW) do fillers for the compartments, and in the ones that don't you can extend the leg into the bottom of the open compartment.
Please have a look at this video, which explains how to tether in different cars and what to do if you can't get the strap under the rail. th-cam.com/video/tDwrKfeHLww/w-d-xo.html
I've installed the seat Into my car, but when I tightened the harness once my boy is in it, on strap isn't as tight as the other, how do I resolve this? The harness and headrest are in the third position.
Hi, That can be caused by either one of the straps being twisted, the bracket that the straps are attached to at the back being caught/stuck, or the child not sitting in the middle of the seat. I would start by opening the zip at the back to see if there's anything not quite right with the harness back there. If that's all ok, then it's simply a case of making sure that your little one sits in the centre of the seat. You can check this by putting your hands next to their thighs to make sure that the space between their legs and the sides of the seat is equal on both sides. I hope this helps. :)
These seats may be a little more involved to install than an ISOfix seat, but I think the 25kg rear facing limit outways the few extra minutes that it takes to install. With a little bit of practice you will get used to it quite quickly.
i would’ve been lost following the manual trying to install this. woman is a life (and probably a relationship) saver 😅
