I agree with the most but i must say i do like to show my redness on the cheeks and nose because it looks like a natural blush in pictures and real life... so imo not all redness should be hidden ! 😊
@@ririimari I think a sort of irregular redness is kinda pretty! (As long as you aren't in pain) I think it gives a kind of realness that a flat skin tone achieved with foundation doesn't have.
I used to dye my brows but I realized I was feeling really insecure when the dye faded. My natural blonde brows looked so pale and didn’t pronounce my facial features. So I thought. It’s been 4 months now with my natural blonde brows and I’ve learned to really love it.
I am in the exact situation! I have very soft features and soft shapes all over, I am also porcelain skin tone with light hair and eyes and lips. Undereye dark circles girl here It’s genetic and I always had them, no skincare will ever get rid of them They’re the main reason I wear makeup - at least a little bit of concealer, always
I have huge dark circles because my skin is thin and fair and my bone structure is making the situation worse, but after a decade of trying to "cure", conceal and hide them I just don't care anymore. They are visible with or without makep anyway, why wasting my time and money?
Finding out my colours for clothing was a game changer for me, was necessary in going no makeup regularly... I thought I was just sick looking but turns out was wearing the worst colours for me.
me too! I try to tell others to find their best colors and they just say no wear whatever you want! But why would u wanna wear any color that makes u look worse?? lol
Is that your pfp? You look like a light olive.. I'm a medium to light cool yellow olive and it's tricky to buy the right colors both on clothing and make up(as of now it's hard to find the right/not expensive/ not imported make up where I am so I don't wear it at all, I only use a cool yellow tinted corrector powder, then lip/cheek tint to not look like a zombie or a witch). My mom and me have the same skin tone and she's always worried that we might be sick Lol
@@silynita yes, my pfp. Yep, fair olive here, warm leaning.. I’m very soft in colouring so can get away with certain non-native colours if they are muted enough. And yeah olives can look a little more sickly! Right colours made all the different :)

For someone as you as you to recognize that older women have different beauty issues, and you address them. Brava! And thank you. Thanks also for teaching us about makeup but also encouraging us not to wear it all the time if we don't want to. You're tops!
Attention young ladies!!! Your youth is such a fun time 💕 Don’t waste it fussing over makeup and dyeing your hair in a salon. You are lovely. When you get past 35 or 40 there is plenty of time to get fussy with makeup and hair dye. Love to all 💕💕
@the cutest snail makeup makes your skin age faster! It’s full of nasty stuff, keep being yourself and you’ll see how much it pays off after some time!! Being different is good I regret changing myself because of others!!
applicable for all ages. i would expect more of older people to have more confidence with all the experience over the years and dont waste time on things if they are not excited about, like make up and hair due to purely outward reasons
I recently started using ice on my face and OMG it made a huge difference on my skin. Ice helped me a lot reducing tired look and puffiness around my eyes. Also, help with blood circulation and give that glowing effect. 👌
Gorl no. Every dermatologist is cringing at this trend. It’s literally an illusion because it constricts pores temporarily. But it’s really not good for your skin.
I never wear makeup because I never learn how to properly do it. I wear mascara and blush from time to time. For me it's more: 1. Good skincare routine 2. Good hairstyke 3. Nice perfume 4. Fresh breath 5. Jewelry
Your tips make a perfect sense for me! I naturally stopped wearing makeup ~1 year ago after I FINALLY (after years of struggles) found: - perfect skin routine for my skin type - perfect hair cut + maintaining it regularly - doing brows every day (my natural brows are almost invisible so I spend 1-2 minutes every morning adding some darkness there) - found my perfect everyday earrings (medium thickness silver rings) So, once all those things above happened and took place in my daily life, I just found myself avoiding makeup (except brows) because in most cases even the slightest makeup disturbs the balance that I found. Also I think this is so relevant for me because I am so very very close to a pure Classic type (maybe with a slight D undercurrent).
@@ilinel1321 kinda, but If you want to go simple, you could wear winged eyeliner, and mascara and some shimery lipstick or tinted lipbalm and it would still look effortlessly pretty
I'm 17 and my mom won't let me wear make up (which I sometimes don't like but overall I am appreciative because it allowed me to start liking my natural beauty more but I still get insecure sometimes), I am so grateful for all the tips and will try to use them
She is a smart lady 🐱 It's hard for young women to be okay with how they look, with the basics of comparison being the people on social media that use lighting, a million layers of products, and filters to look the way they do! Being comfortable with yourself is the most important part of beauty!
I am very glad I am confident without makeup at 20 years old. I am dating my first boyfriend ever and he always says I am beautiful (I hardly ever wear makeup) but it is so funny the rare times that I wear makeup when he is shocked by how makeup can accentuate my features. I perfer my face without makeup, but I still think playing around with it is so fun.
When you are of age and you can wear make up without permission remember to wear it only because you like it and it is fun! Not to cover your insecurities and not because you think its obligatory. Just take good take care of yourself eat and sleep well and you can go make up free all the time! Insecurities come because we are shown photoshopped pictures that are not real. Its nice to be real! Make up its just something creative not a nessesity.
I recommend: Curler lashes and only a little bit of concealer on points after acne, castrol oil on eyebrows and lashes. That is enough. Your mother is so smart :)
Yeah I do some of your tips. Doing my eyebrows, wearing earrings, putting a little bit of tint on my cheeks and lips, wearing hair accessory, getting my nails in unified shape make a huge difference my appearance!
I love these. A couple tips I would add: curl eyelashes and use eyedrops if you have trouble with redness or discoloration in the eyes. Moisturized skin - but ALSO moisturized lips!
I still need to use some eye pencil to "frame" a bit my eyes so they look more lively (I am older) but as I grow older I use less and less make up as I think it makes you look older not younger....
My office routine Moisturiser with spf 50. Clear mascara to set my full brows. Tinted lip balm also applied to cheeks for fresh flush. Small ear Studs. Plaited hair. Glasses im myopic. Fave scent..ready
I don't wear makeup, and this kind of explains why it works for me; I have clean skin, natural dark hair and eyebrows, and that just looks good on me. Finding out my colour season also really helped, and I switched from silver earrings to gold and rose gold, which made a big difference for me. It makes me look classy without trying. I wanted to learn to do my make up for work situations, but quit because it just makes me look odd. Just a bit of eyeliner is the only thing I now do if necessary. Another tip I can give is figuring out your colour season; if you wear colour shades that complement your skin tone in your clothes and accessories, it really works wonders, and can make you glow up without doing anything else.
I love your videos and how you deliver and explain the information, very useful and unique. I am glad there are channel like this, which doesn't promote how to change your face with make up to look like some celebrity, but how to enhance own uniqueness and I think this is the future and almost the only way to go if you want to be beautiful.
Every since I let my eyebrows grow in thicker from when I over plucked them in the early 2000s I've felt much more confident without make up. Brows really make a difference and dying them can make the sparse light areas look full again !
Tip for the dye stains: i use a dab of alcohol on a qtip and gently rub the stained area. this is what works for me so i can wear my dyed brows the same day i dye them
My problem is my dark circles, I have a decent/smooth skin but because of my dark circles I feel obliged to wear concealer and obviously makeup with it to balance it out!
I find dark circles the most chic thing ever, I never get them, even if I don't sleep at all.. I used to put makeup under my eyes to mimic dark circles lol
Skin care is so important, find the right skin care and your face looks beautiful without any makeup. Right doesn't mean 10 steps by the way. You need to know what your skin needs and what you want to achieve. I have mixed skin, tends to get oily and am 32, so I want to prevent aging. I use salicylic acid mask once a week. Daily I wash my face with a simple face wash without parfume or alcohols. Then I use a niacinamide tonic and I put on my day or night cream. Night cream has retinol in it, day cream has niacinamide. During the day I wear sunscreen, every day, doesn't matter how cloudy or if I'm staying indoors. I have darker skin as well. My skin has improved so much by listening to skin care influencers like Dr dray, Dr vanita rattan and mixed makeup etc. Just keep it simple and targeted, and take care of yourself
I've been using it for years. I do it before bed, so if my skin gets stained its not so bad the next day. I have blonde brows and use dark brown color.
I started use more makeup after I turned 33 years, its easy when you are young but when you age and have kids... well the sleeping part is imposible and then you need makeup
I'm 44 and nearly never wear make-up. Do men have to wear make-up to look put together? No, so why should women? It's a question of what you are used to. I was lucky enough to grow up in Germany where not wearing makeup is pretty common. Personally I think the hair does a big part of the job.
Ma’am your opinion of yourself is important. But you do not need makeup. Instead you should focus on skincare. So much better in the long run too, and is shorter than applying makeup. I don’t need to see your face to know that you’re a beautiful person
Yes, love the Men’s beard dye. Outline brow with vaseline to prevent skin staining. I use an old, clean mascara wand bent slightly to apply. More control.
for my lightish brows I use a hair pomade and angled brush with a soft eyeshadow- works perfectly. Lash, lft & tint for lashes. Lip gloss/plumper. Teeny amount of concealer for redness
Hi Aly! I love love love your channel. you should write a guide book because you give amazing style advice in a clear way. I have an eclectic style but it looked messy in the past. Now I am able to execute my style in a tasteful way thanks to your channel! thank you again!
06:18 about the dye staining your skin, a useful tip that I learned from my grandma: put on some heavier face cream, like regular Nivea, something that your skin want absorbe completely, around the edges of your hairline (whether it is your brow hairs or your hair-hairs). And THEN put on the dye. The cream will protect your skin for getting any dye in even though you miss your hair. I used to dye my hair flamin red and this trick helped every single time, I never had any issues (at least on the facila skin, hands are another story 🤣😅)
I would check out how Grimes does her makeup. She has a big nose, big ears and big eyes, but uses that to her advantage. I would go as far and say, that’s why she looks younger than she really is - because this “disproportion“ reminds us of a teenager
Such great advice, thank you Aly! If I only do one thing it's my brows. They're pretty light and thing on the outer parts so a little darker brow powder and a touch of lipstick and off I go. Love the glasses you're wearing, they frame your face beautifully!!
you can make a difference by choosing your clothes carefully. Wear only things you love and you feel best with, stick to colours near to your face that make you feel and look good, style them up ( luxus materials, shapes), stay with 2 colours/outfit that fit together, and maybe some small accessories in contrast colour to catch the eye
Uneven skin tone just isn't a good look for me to go barefaced. Wear tinted sunscreen at a minimum with mascara. Yes wearing a mask makes makeup easier but also doing video meetings daily. Agree about hair, mine is great lucky genes! 🤗

Thanks for the earring tip, Aly. I've never had piercings but I'm considering having regular ear piercings! Since I have never had them I've had no idea what I should wear. Now I know what to go for after training earrings
Hello, Ally. Thank you for your amazing videos, they have been extremely helpful for me. I would like to ask you about how I could find my good colors when I have rosacea. I feel nothing looks flattering and most colors increase my level of redness. I can not use a foundation on a daily basis because it irritates my skin furthermore. I would like to be able to wear SPF or BB Cream and still look presentable. I am under the care of a dermatologist and I follow a skincare routine. The best treatment would be with laser, but I cannot afford it at this time. Thank you.
Ally, you are so brave with hair color! What you've said in your videos, went into consideration, when I had my hair color and cut changed, this past Saturday. My hair is naturally off-black and the first time I got caramel highlights, the second lightest golden blonde seemed to do its job, but over the next few days, it kept getting lighter and lighter and I panicked! Next time I was at the salon, the second lightest golden blonde was mixed with some violet to keep it from getting too red or too yellow, at the same time. I love the highlights, but it's a dramatic change that's taken some getting used to, when I look in the mirror. On the other hand, the blunt past shoulders lob and the overall lighter look, is more forgiving to all kinds of flaws, than my natural hair color.
Hair and accessories are my jam! My face is widest by my eyes(like diamond shape), so I like to keep my hair voluminous and wear longish earrings and glasses that sort of balance out my face. My favorite frames are oversized square gold wireframes.
The older I get it's like this- can't go out without...I need something on like mascara and maybe bronzer. For me, the no makeup look is long gone, lol.
This is super helpful 🙏 I also don't like wearing makeup everyday so I'm going to try some of these. I definitely need to sort out my hair, and maybe go back to tinting and waxing my eyebrows...
If I sleep at a guy's house and Netflix and chill I don't put foundation so I can cuddle and not stain his shirt. I wear minimal makeup (gloss, eyeshadow , cream blush) so if I wake up the next day I don't look crazy. At home I moisturize a lot.
Thanks so much I always think about this as I stopped wearing most makeup but I still want to look presentable in todays world. Another thing is facial posture and musculature. Experimenting with facial yoga and awareness of those muscles. Also having a bright attitude for the day always livens up my eyes :)
A good tip for making it less likely that you stain your skin when brow tinting is put Vaseline everywhere you don't want the tint to touch. I like using a cotton swab or small brush to get a precise application. Using some type of physical exfoliant like a scrub with help get any that stained under your brow hairs off. Similar to sunless tan.
I was happy microblading but found that with time they faded to a reddish hue. I started growing them with Babelash and then dying them and like them better.
What if I have hereditary very dark circles under my eyes and no cream in the world, no matter how much I sleep and how much water I drink, I still have them? I had them since a was born..
I could proudly say that Im 20 years old and I only wore make up thrice I think. I'm soo fond of natural looks and I'm not lying putting make up makes me less confident .
I don't wear any makeup since March this year when wearing a mask is compulsory when you step out of your house. I felt weird initially now am really used to my bare face. I only put on moisturizer & sunblock and am good to go. I saved so many times getting ready to go out, I don't have perfect skin but don't mind my flaws showing out now
I do wear makeup most days but when I don't I still feel confident because my glasses suit my face shape. Nicely styled hair and some cute glasses makes for a cute no makeup day.
I think it helps to look "mature" if the scarf or hair band is close in color to your hair (like burgundy or forest green for dark brown hair; blush, camel or mint for very light hair, etc), and if any accents are metallic. I have dark hair and for me even something "classy" like pearl accents look kitschy because of the contrast. I also accept that I can't wear a hair scarf and earrings at the same time without looking like a pirate. I would imagine that a streamlined shape or outline (of the entire hairdo with the accessory in it) would really help for a soft classic. For instance a scarf that ties under the hair and is flat on top, as opposed to a top-knotted "turban" style scarf. Or a low ponytail with a flat barrette. And stuff worn at the back instead of bright or shiny stuff right next to the face.
Alyona great tips. I put a little amount of CC Cream that adds a little bit of color and has sunscreen 🧴, very important. I live in an island and the weather doesn’t help when you use makeup. So, I learned to look natural but using creams and stuff that are really good for the skin. Thanks for your videos!
I use men's beard dye for my eyebrows. I use a fine spoolie type alternative to dental floss called Interdens to brush the dye through my eyebrows so it doesn't touch my skin too much. That way I have greater control and don't get stained skin.
Agree!! I don't have acne but I have tried almost every foundation out there. I hate it and it never looks good. I've gone to tinted BB or CC cream sometimes and bare face most days with powder. Warts and all.. Let them shine!! 😆
I agree cheap, heavy foundation makes breakouts look worse but a light hydrating concealer- something like RMS uncover up- is amazing to take down the redness when blended properly
I have been using "Just for Men" for over 20 years! I agree with your Aly, it works great. Each package lasts about 10 applications. Interestingly they make these types of coloring methods (tubes) for men - but for women there is only one application! You have to throw the rest out! (Hair color.)
But the photo you show at 2:10 is a woman wearing a full face of makeup, from foundation to blush, to mascara, to eyeliner, to eyeshadow , to brow pencil and lipstick and lip gloss. ???
I don’t like wearing makeup because it’s just too much work. I have naturally clear skin so I’ll admit that helps a lot. But other wise, I just make sure my hair is sleek and shiny, moisturize my skin and lips, and have a nice pair of earrings on. If I want to be a bit extra I’ll curl my lashes and wear tinted lip balm 🤣 and MAYBE mascara but I hate taking it off at the end of the day. So I save mascara for special occasions
I don't own a foundation. I've been trying to pick a foundation for years, but I just lose my patience every single time I approach a make up counter 😊 Never been into make up, but when I look at my videos I can see it would make a massive difference if I knew what I'm doing 🙄😁
The colors you wear and the type of fabric is also very important. Some colors make you look so dull and others make you look so fresh. So pay attention to that, too :)
Best tip: stop wearing makeup for a while and you will get used to your natural face it won't feel weird anymore! Then you can go back to wearing makeup when you feel like it but without the " I have to" behind it 😉. Done this myself and it's so effective, just takes a bit of discipline at the beginning to keep it up until you get used to it

I agree with the most but i must say i do like to show my redness on the cheeks and nose because it looks like a natural blush in pictures and real life... so imo not all redness should be hidden ! 😊
Me too. I like the redness on my cheeks, I find it cute.
I agree. Mine is usually blotchy not symmetrical and so does not appear nice imo but some people's looks beautiful
I agree, a natural blush looks beautiful
@@ririimari I think a sort of irregular redness is kinda pretty! (As long as you aren't in pain) I think it gives a kind of realness that a flat skin tone achieved with foundation doesn't have.
me too!! 😂😊
I used to dye my brows but I realized I was feeling really insecure when the dye faded. My natural blonde brows looked so pale and didn’t pronounce my facial features. So I thought. It’s been 4 months now with my natural blonde brows and I’ve learned to really love it.
That sounds like it would make your eyes look really pretty ❤️
I loove blond eyebrows both on men and women! I am happy you're appreciating them :)
I am in the exact situation! I have very soft features and soft shapes all over, I am also porcelain skin tone with light hair and eyes and lips. I now realize I look my best with lighter eyebrows and I only tint my eyelashes now for subtle contrast. But I have -2 contrast and I've learnt to love it

Undereye dark circles girl here
It’s genetic and I always had them, no skincare will ever get rid of them
They’re the main reason I wear makeup - at least a little bit of concealer, always
Same girl! I’m also fair without much color to my lips naturally so concealer and tinted balm is a must or else I’ll look dead lol
Girl same
Samee
I have huge dark circles because my skin is thin and fair and my bone structure is making the situation worse, but after a decade of trying to "cure", conceal and hide them I just don't care anymore. They are visible with or without makep anyway, why wasting my time and money?
Yupp me too.
@@starburst9053 exactly! I find “restrictions” in this way to be expansive rather than limiting!
@@silynita yes, my pfp. Yep, fair olive here, warm leaning.. I’m very soft in colouring so can get away with certain non-native colours if they are muted enough. And yeah olives can look a little more sickly! Right colours made all the different :)

I'm over 50 and I found your channel looking for how to make my small eyes look bigger. I am very impressed.
Love to all 💕💕
You are so right! That's what I have been doing so far! Thank God I am too lazy for make-up 😆 Love to you, too!! 💗💗💗

I recently started using ice on my face and OMG it made a huge difference on my skin. Ice helped me a lot reducing tired look and puffiness around my eyes. Also, help with blood circulation and give that glowing effect. 👌
And also cause broken capillaries. 👏
Read this as ice cream lmao, I'm so glad I was wrong 😂
Gorl no. Every dermatologist is cringing at this trend. It’s literally an illusion because it constricts pores temporarily. But it’s really not good for your skin.
@@shade247 Didn't know it was a trend. Maybe it doesn't work on everyone.
I never wear makeup because I never learn how to properly do it. I wear mascara and blush from time to time. For me it's more:
1. Good skincare routine
2. Good hairstyke
3. Nice perfume
4. Fresh breath
5. Jewelry
Your tips make a perfect sense for me! I naturally stopped wearing makeup ~1 year ago after I FINALLY (after years of struggles) found:
- perfect skin routine for my skin type
- perfect hair cut + maintaining it regularly
- doing brows every day (my natural brows are almost invisible so I spend 1-2 minutes every morning adding some darkness there)
- found my perfect everyday earrings (medium thickness silver rings)
So, once all those things above happened and took place in my daily life, I just found myself avoiding makeup (except brows) because in most cases even the slightest makeup disturbs the balance that I found. Also I think this is so relevant for me because I am so very very close to a pure Classic type (maybe with a slight D undercurrent).
I'm right in the middle as a classic too! It's so good to hear how someone else found that perfect balance
I was gonna ask you if you were a classic 🤣
Does anybody know what the right thing to do for a TR would be? Wear makeup?

@@HomoAfanusBalleticus very well said:)
I honestly love your advice; you're like my sister telling me how to leave the house without looking like a hot mess
I use primer and then powder, the skin looks more beautiful that you could ever imagine!
I adore your attitude! Its rare that one says.. Yes! Go without makeup! 💕

Loved seeing silver haired models!
@@zhvr I think so too... I used to cover mine every day but then I stopped and now I'm used to them; they make you a bit mysterious, lol

Sirirenen I wear prescription glasses so that masks my dark circles = makeup free hehe
I used to do turmeric masks to help with that, but I found drinking like 2L of water everyday helped a lot after a month or so.
When I was a teen I used to avoid using glasses all the time but now I think it completes my look. Agree with everything you said!

Yes Just For Men! My stylist recommended it months ago. Yes, you have to work fast and I've certainly stained my skin, but it quickly went away.
I've been using it for years. I do it before bed, so if my skin gets stained its not so bad the next day. I have blonde brows and use dark brown color.
just put a little vaseline before and it will not stain!
I’m so excited to try the Just For Men dye tip! The only makeup I wear everyday is brow gel, so just dying them once a month instead sounds awesome!
I started use more makeup after I turned 33 years, its easy when you are young but when you age and have kids... well the sleeping part is imposible and then you need makeup
Same here! I totally understand you ❤
Yes- I am 37 and as I’ve turned the corner from beyond 35 I find myself wearing more makeup

Having a bigger a nose (not hooked) and long face? Love wearing makeup and would be interested in makeup tips and hairstyles colors etc V tall also.
Same, I have a big nose, long face, and close set eyes. I feel like I can never get my make up right. Also tall.
I would check out how Grimes does her makeup. She has a big nose, big ears and big eyes, but uses that to her advantage. I would go as far and say, that’s why she looks younger than she really is - because this “disproportion“ reminds us of a teenager
Have not seen any other artists around. U must be the best.
I also love your glasses. What kind are they? What brand? I am going to get new frames and I love yours.
Such great advice, thank you Aly! If I only do one thing it's my brows. They're pretty light and thing on the outer parts so a little darker brow powder and a touch of lipstick and off I go. Love the glasses you're wearing, they frame your face beautifully!!
i also use that beard dye cause i'm blonde, i use a medium brown i think and it turns out very nice after a few washes!
you can make a difference by choosing your clothes carefully.

Thank you.
The best piece of advice for healthy natural look : drinking water !
On the other hand, the blunt past shoulders lob and the overall lighter look, is more forgiving to all kinds of flaws, than my natural hair color.
best youtube channel for real advice
I use cc cream because it’s like a face cream but it also covers, I don’t like the thick and dry texture of foundations
I used to get my lashes and eyebrows dyed at a Russian beauty shop. I had no idea it was a Russian thing! I feel so informed.
Welcome to the U.S.!! Love this video.
Oh, you are singing to me. I have to have my cut and color do the work, no styling. Same with makeup too.
I don't wear makeup, and dying eyebrows really made a difference! Great content, as always, thanks! ❤️
I am soft classic I love the hair bands and scarves but they make me look very childish or it doesn't look right. Is there a way I can wear them?
@@cianap.281 Great advice thanks!
Alyona great tips. I put a little amount of CC Cream that adds a little bit of color and has sunscreen 🧴, very important. I live in an island and the weather doesn’t help when you use makeup. I have used the exact same beard dye on my brows...I feel so validated now haha
I dye my brows, too. Quick, and inexpensive!
My brows are very similar to yours and I dye them with RefectoCil light brown. Can totally recommend it!

i mostly just do my brows and a lil blush no foundation anymore + wear headbands as an acc!
Yet another super useful and well made video! Thank you so much;) keep up the good work, Aly!
I use men's beard dye for my eyebrows. I use a fine spoolie type alternative to dental floss called Interdens to brush the dye through my eyebrows so it doesn't touch my skin too much. That way I have greater control and don't get stained skin.
Breaks outs look worse when covered w foundation.

I just get a Facetune ad before the vid as I was researching regarding face manipulation for a psychology paper.
I've been trying to pick a foundation for years, but I just lose my patience every single time I approach a make up counter 😊
Never been into make up, but when I look at my videos I can see it would make a massive difference if I knew what I'm doing 🙄😁
