      Exactly since the brain don't fully develop until 25 if he were closer to 30 it would feel and look like she's dating an adult but a 20 year old is fresh out of highschool fresh out of childhood isn't all the way there yet mentally and still need a lot of life to experience it seemed like she just became a mother of 2 instead of she has a new man.

    I’m dating a Carribean man and my advice is to NEVER marry a Carribean man who isn’t living in America. That man most likely is looking for a green card. If you want a Carribean man, date a Carribean man who has his citizenship and has been living in America for years before he met you like I did. Enjoy yourself when you travel but don’t marry him.

    • @LaFlor718
      @LaFlor718 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It really depends. My fam is from the Caribbean and Latin America and ofc there are men looking for a green card and they have tons of finesse with it. However if let’s say I take an American friend to Trinidad, I can help to vet the men who flirt. The old heads still know everyone in the community and can tell you which families have the means, which don’t etc. As a general rule of thumb when I go to a new country, I go with people who are from there or very familiar with the country. Women wouldn’t get scammed by Caribbean and Latin lovers as easily if they move with locals and don’t try to get with resort employees. Just a little food for thought and congrats on finding love!

    I just watched How Stella Got Her Groove Back last night on Hulu to prepare for this review. I remember bits and pieces of this movie. Although Angela was cut throat, she truly made the most sense out of anyone. Being with someone significantly younger than you will not work out very well. Love was definitely blind in this movie. Even Winston’s mother was right. Technically, Stella was right that Winston wasn’t a baby anymore but in a way, he had immature tendencies. Very good review! And congratulations on 30K subscribers!

    As someone who recently read the book, what the book lacked made up for in the film. I really like how Whoopi was there for the almost half the movie before being k!lled off. Her comedic timing along with Taye Diggs made this film enjoyable, for me at least. How Stella Got her Groove Back for me is well casted and this movie is underrated in Angela Bassett’s filmography.

    I think why this movie was so popular back in the day was because it was seen like a fantasy for older/middle aged women, being desired by a younger man.
    Pretty much the same mid-life crisis stunt older/middle aged men pull in getting with younger women (or in some cases, girls) just to feel young and desirable again (it’s an ego boost and dopamine hit).
    I also believe it was praised (at the time) because it was a role reversal of what most older men do, have older women feel validated in being able to do the same.
