I think they stopped using nitro a couple of years ago. I confirmed with my new E3 OM which has something called Truetone

great video! thanks. Regarding to the finish, since 2021, it's not cellulosique anymoren but thin uréthane, that they call TrueTone.

I bought mine in 2023 and I can assure you that at least my E1OM is still finished with a nitrocellulose lacquer. It was the last one they had, so maybe my guitar was the last one coming from an older batch of guitars. That I don’t know.

I recently buyed the same model a part from the top which is natural. I tested this and the e2 om and preferred this one because I play Fingerstyle and it simply shines in this area. I also tested some other brands but these Eastmans are unbeatable. Also tested the e6 and e8 om and I was stunned by the playability the sound and looks of them.

Thanks for the review. Do you know if the neck is slimmer or thicker than the one on the Martin D Jr or X series 000 ? I have small hands and like a slim neck

I’m trying to decide between this and a Yamaha Red Label FS3. Have you ever played the Yamaha? If so, which one is better?

I haven't, but If I compare the specifications, the Eastman is a lot more value for the money!

I have both of them. I like them both. The Eastman has a traditional sound similar to a Martin OOO-18. The Yamaha is it’s own thing, sounds kind of hifi/modern. I prefer the woody traditional sound of the Eastman.

The biggest difference (other than sound) is how they play…for me Eastman’s necks and fretboards (12” radius and rolled edges) play much nicer than the flatter Yamaha fretboards

Muchas Gracias for the demo! I am thinking about getting one of these in this finish.
What's the strumming tune that you're playing at 4:02 th-cam.com/video/LkOw571b3KY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ZxRScLsOHrjfbSUI&t=242

Hey man! I don't work for the guitarshop anymore since about 2 years ago so I missed your question. But it's actually a tune of my own called Blackened Rain, but I never recorded it..

The e1d and e2d are better in sound and cheaper in my opinion
