This show is first and foremost not about finding love, it's about the right strategy to stay on the show as long as possible and only after that has been secured the candidates check out whether there's a romance possible, anyone who puts feelings before strategy gets abused and kicked out.
Best example was in season 2, where Phoebe was the only honest candidate on start, coming out with her attraction to Cassie, which Cassie (who would have gotten kicked out next) abused to stay on the show, just to do a 180 on Phoebe right after, so that Phoebe got kicked out next.
Stories like this one are why I barely care about who couples up with who, 90% of it is just strategy anyway, I watch the show just to see how far some people are willing to go to have just a few more minutes of screen time on TV.
If in between all the strategy there form couples who not only manage to stay on the show but stay together after the show, well, congrats, beating the odds like that is pretty rare.
