NRL is not yet Australia's #1 sport but in time it will be.
There is so much more room for growth in the NRL overseas & its already happening where the AFL is far more restricted to Australia.
The scenes from the recent PNG test speaks volumes of where the NRL is heading imo.

@@Jase1000-p2fSponsorship. There would be LOTS of eyes on a PNG team every week were there one in the NRL.

@@Jase1000-p2f So your not going to watch any games with PNG? Do you believe the current 17 teams are all financially viable operations? All 17 NRL teams draw their life blood from Pay TV income, NRL, gate fees, merchandise sales, club memberships etc. Australian Government decision to tip 5 million into PNG is a master stroke. I live in NSW and I am aged 54. When I was in my 20s, we the people owned Rail, Electricity, Gas, Telecom, Goverment inspectors signed off on construction, we had numerous petrol refineries and as many prospecting departments. Today, all our major roads are owned by private business and the roads are crap. The Govt sold Green Slip and it tripled overnight. All our windfarms are owned by international investors. We can't order trains that fit under bridges, Ferrys that Captains can operate safely, nor can we lock down a contract without it blowing out by millions & millions. Todays politicians have sold every asset we owned, and with a business model in full force when TAX PAYERS PAY LEADERS TO GOVERN THE PEOPLE. Our obsession with being the USA is becoming all too real. Next to go will be Medicare and the pension/retirement payment. Stay well people, look after yourselves and if there is any doubt? Follow the money.

So the guests are the ones that pull in the big guns? Makes life easy for James then.

The long distance runner was Cliff Young a dairy farmer from Victoria who developed his running style running in gum boots in muddy paddocks chase his cows, the race was Sydney to Melbourne, and he actually changed the running style of most long distance runners because of the efficiency of his shuffling running style. Love your show keep up the good work

The claim of 'changed styles of most long-distance runners' needs substantial supporting statistics.

@@martinhollings James is a walking confliction between his 'parents belief system' and the fact he played sport for a job, which both pays well and anchors post career employment. I realise not all have the lengthy career and opportunities that come with it, but those who do serve themselves best remaining humble and giving of their time.
