I really appreciate the large community effort to try and get style back into surfing the past 1-2 years. I can’t stand the big stink bug stance “performance” surfing that seems to have been rewarded by our Brazilian brothers (no disrespect). Don’t get me wrong, those dudes go hard, but it’s just not appealing to watch at all.
Yeah I'd like to see a combo of both. Like the Black Baron twin. Performance and style surfing in one. I used to love watching airs and such but it's gotten so blown out of proportion -- so many sections wasted to just pump down the line and launch. Don't get me wrong it's badass and I'm not good enough to do that for sure -- but I feel like it goes against surfing. Hopefully one day we can meld the high perf styles and the laid back styles together. Would be sick to watch some stylish floaters and carves mixed in with a big air at the end of the section, maximizing the wave.
