If I were Allan Hinds' mother, I'd go to church every day for seven weeks a humbly apologize to God because I can't control the fact that of my pride that I bore such a genius son.
This was shot with a Canon 5Dmark II. I was either using an expensive 70-200mm 2.8 lens or maybe a cheap 50mm 1.4. I think it's the 50. It's really the lens that does the depth of field, when it's open way up it gets like that. Plus the 5d mark II has a full frame sensor that adds to it.
The only bad note is @ 3:57. He immediately laughs which shows tremendous humility and humbleness. Allen is definately in my top 20 favorite guitarists. I tell ya, he holds his own with Robben Ford, Michael Landau, Larry Carlton, Guthrie Govan, Brett Garsed, Tim Miller, and some of my other faves! Not to mention that Jimmy Johnson, the virtuoso here on bass has or plays with the guys mentioned above.
This is badass. How the FUCK do you make this stuff look so good? I've lived in the valley since I was 7 and have never been to that Baked Potato. I wanna go now. - Max
I see. My wife has the EOS 1Ds mkIII with that same 70-200 IS lens so I know what it's like - except I can't do video with it... that would be cool, though...
Boy, what's not to like? Allen's tone and playing is great and Jimmy Johnson is always unreal. Fantastic band. May the Potato live forever!!!!
Hands down my favorite guitarist...Hands down...

damn that's a beautiful les paul. I'm glad I have one myself!
Hiram Bullock also played a great version of this Grolnick song on the LP "from all sides".
Jimmy Johnson is unreal.
