    Nearly all the Razer products I have owned were incredibly unreliable, especially the laptop lineup which needed to be sent to repairs within 1 year. The only reliable piece of tech that I had from them is the mechanical blackwidow keyboard (2013). I gave them to many chances and nearly every single time I was burned by a subpar product that only looks cool

      Not the actual best, mind, just what Intel says is the "best".

  • @LucificNight
    @LucificNight 4 ปีที่แล้ว +58

    Not a great value proposition, honestly.
    Considering the poor monitor, terrible camera, under-powered 1650TI at 35W tdp, you're paying an insane premium for portability.
    A cheaper ultrabook could probably play the same games with an equally dismal experience. A larger, 14 or 15 inch laptop would probably have better specs for cheaper.
    This laptop falls into the intersection between "has money to burn", "needs portability" and "had applications that barely run on a 1650ti and nothing lower".

    • @or2kr

      Samarth Bhat I have a 2019 model, and believe me that the chassis is the best of this laptop, it feels solid, durable, no one laptop out here have it, few exceptions. There are cheaper laptops, of course they are, Ryzen it’s better now than Intel, maybe it is. For this laptop you pay is for ultraportable feature, even the Razer Blade 15 it’s more powerful at same price.

    • @abhigyandatta13

    How much difference is in CPU performance of regular top end 10th gen U series i7 and top end 11th gen i7 G series. We know 10th gen G series isn't really a 4000u series competitor.

    6:46 Its because Razor has locked the cpu tdp to 25W max. So 25W now acts as turbo boost and only reach to 25 when immediately needed. Same did by MSI in their GF 63 Thin series although i contacted them and they sent me beta version of EC firmware which fixed it and now its 25W limit is unlocked. As for razor, laptop this thing can't handle 45W tdp for long as you can see its touching high 70s even its drawing less than 25W.
    Edit: Alright, my bad its designed tdp its max 25W. But gf 63 has H series processor which has 45W tdp so its nowhere possible to achieve clock speeds of 3.9ghz at mere 25W power.

    I'm using mine right now and honestly I really enjoy this laptop. Personally I originally went with an Alienware M15 R3 & a Legion 7i both had their own issues and I returned them. One thing was the battery life (which was around a hour just doing web browsing and Zoom, while around 30 minutes while playing a game like Control.) And the loudness of the fans which was quite an annoyance in my opinion. I instead built a PC and bought the Stealth as its companion machine. My setup works quite nice now and I have plenty of power to play games for now. Also I like that the Stealth is low powered as in wattage. Allows the laptop to be powered by a external power pack and it runs like it was on a wall outlet. It stays incredibly silent & cool for the most part even while playing demanding games. Overall the build quality is solid too and is easy to carry around. Just wish it wasn't so much of a fingerprint magnet. Also the screen is lacking and is exactly like what Jarrod said in his review.

    • @EdwardMillen
      @EdwardMillen 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      What power pack are you using with it exactly? I had a late 2019 Blade Stealth which I ended up returning for repair due to several charging-related issues, one of which being that it didn't seem to work properly at all with several USB-C chargers I tried it with (which were easily capable of supplying enough power for normal use, but the laptop would only take a much smaller amount and drain the battery). I eventually ended up getting a refund after no updates on the repair for over a month, so I used that to buy the late 2020 model... and that seems to have the same issues, so I don't understand what's going on with them :/

    I've been wondering how this version of the Stealth would compare to my one (as I commented on the prior Stealth Review). So far from what I've seen, it does make a lot of sense that the differences between the pair aren't as clearly shown, aside from the 15W limit being raised (and the right shift key). I really puts an emphasis on just how conservative Razer was with the 2019 Stealth, which is really a shame cause it CAN handle both of the CPU at 25W alongside the GPU (as some folks have modified their Stealths and the tradeoff is worth it from what I've seen). Kind of hoped someday that they would update the Late 2019 model with something in the BIOS or Synapse to lift the power limit and allow for better performance.
    Great review on this device, and curious to see if you'll be planning to try and get the 11th gen model too!

However, with the announcement of the updated 11th-gen Stealth, Best Buy in the US put the model reviewed here on clearance for $1,300, which makes it a much more compelling value. While the 1165G7 is an improvement over the 1065G7, it's not $500 better since everything else about the machine is the same.

      Probably the screen response time, which is quite poor for a laptop that's supposed to be used with gaming in mind. Since this is basically the only laptop with a high-refresh 13-inch panel, you're basically stuck.

    Hey Jarrod, I am planning on picking up a gaming laptop with a budget of $1000. I saw that the asus zephyrus g14 was at $1080 with amd ryzen 5 4500u and gtx 1650 4gb. Is that good to play like future triple A games at a playable frame rate? And overall would you recommend it?
