I always wished there was a script or text-tool where you could add your own, multiple variations of a single letter (lets say 10 versions of the letter a) and as you typed, the tool would switch to a new variation of the same letter as it came up. You could set it up as random or follow the 1-10 in order. Prolly exists somewhere. Great Video. I'm enjoying your channel!
That would be pretty nice way to make digital lettering feel a little more organic. I feel like I read something once about some font sets having something where the letters would "shift" slightly depending on the other letter's it was around. Or maybe it was upper and lower case were slightly different from each each other. I am talking for comic fonts. So when you typed A or a, it would still show up as A, but if you did upper vs lower, it would look slightly different. I could be making that up though. Speaking about the dynamic fonts, I just remembered this font which does it. Some letters go under other letters. It's interesting blambot.com/products/monsterific
These are such great tips on lettering! I really love the look of hand drawn word balloons but I am torn because I want to be able to manipulate them quickly, so I'm pretty torn about my own webcomic!
Maybe a compromise is to make a few hand drawn balloons and then re-use them instead of hand drawing every balloon. You'd just havea set of 10 different hand drawn balloons you could use, it would give the appearance of variety but still save you time. Good luck!
Leading is pronounced with a short E. Like Led Zeppelin. Back in the old time printing press days typesetters literally placed strips of lead between the individual lines of text to increase/decrease the space between them before running the press. That’s where the term comes from.
Thanks for the video, great tip on changing balloon line weight for CSP. I'm gonna use that one from now on. The old outro worked for me since I'm subscribed =D, but do as you feel works better for you channel, haven't found the hug button though.
I've been looking into it. It may be tricky doing it 100% in procreate because of lettering. So you may need to use Medibang as well. Good news is that it is free. But I still plan to make a video eventually.
There is no one font, they all use different ones. I use blambot.com and their font "out of line" but any of the fonts on that site are great. A lot of them are free as well. blambot.com/collections/dialogue-fonts
Not really sure. You can use gif creator sites and upload a bunch of animation frames to get an animation. but I am not sure that a canvas comic can upload animated images.
"lettering get overlooked..." yes that was me who did exact that, and regret. Thanks for the video bro !
My old comics are very sloppy also :-) Here's to always improving.
Walter's hair should have its own show.
Loving these videos! Super helpful!
Hah. Thanks, Zakh

Great tips to not confuse your reader!
Or even, great techniques to use when you intend to...
Oh? Am i early?
I love that you explain everything! Im working on a webtoon, thats a really big help!
Well hello, early bird. I am glad it is helping. Let me know if there is anything specific you want to know.

Oh snap. Thank you. Ledding. Wouldn't have guessed that ever. Appreciate you.
@@walterostlie No problemo. I enjoy your content. Keep up the good work!

I am petitioning TH-cam to add the hug button, cause I all think we could use a hug.
Lettering is like editing in film. Good lettering is barely noticeable and helps sell the story. Bad lettering rears its head and distract the reader.
Nice vid man
Thank you, Sean!
I use a custom font for dialogue, but i struggle finding fonts for my comic's action sounds
I also free draw my bubbles with Clip Studio's bubble pen
Quick question, is it possible if you can give a tutorial on comics in procreate?
That’s what I’m using to create my WEBTOON.

Walter Ostlie oh cool!
Hey thank you
Thank you right back for your comment and watching.
Awesome!!
Thanks!
Which font do they use for regular dialogues in webtoons?
There is no one font, they all use different ones. I use blambot.com and their font "out of line" but any of the fonts on that site are great. A lot of them are free as well. blambot.com/collections/dialogue-fonts
What free websites can I use to create my animation for web toon ?
Can I create my animation in my phone as I don’t have a computer?
Thank you so much
