the commentators didnt seem really impressed, on all other broadcasts i heared commentators being really impressed and shouting it out. here with brittish eurosport i felt more excitement (and laughter) when Bol fell n her face then with this impressive homerun.
Femke is fantanstic, perfect run and she got the right revenge with the "out of mind" 4x400 final...all my respect for this tender and strong girl!!!!

"From ZERO to HERO" ... I can understand adding some extra drama for the clicks, but calling her a "zero" for falling when she was pushing her body to the limit to try and win a gold medal seems more like an insult to me.
While I won't be watching the video because of this, I guess it still worked as you're getting my engagement out of it ... good for you, Eurosport

I felt the same. I tried to justify it by saying to myself that they mean the position Bol got at the end of the race and not Bol herself, but the adjective Hero definitely refers to the person so my justification failed. They are actually referring to her as a zero, and it is an insult.

Of course she was DQ’d, don’t worry…
If you drop the baton you are allowed to pick it up and continue. Slightly different rules apply in the hand over zone. I suspect the fact that the baton shot forward and crossed the line meant she didn't need to pick it up after crossing the line herself.

The runner also can’t lessen his/her distance on the track in retrieving the baton. If the baton drops when trying to pass the baton, things get more complicated. The dropping of the baton has to occur in a genuine attempt to pass the baton legally within the passing zone (see track markings). If the baton falls within the passing zone, either runner can retrieve it. If the baton is dropped outside the passing zone, the person who dropped it must recover it.
