Thank you Bishop Porter for standing on THE WORD OF GOD. We know that we are living in the time where right is considered wrong and wrong is considered right (ref. ISAIAH 5:20). Deliverance from the vices of the enemy is a blessing for those who seek it.

That's the problem! Everybody can say what they want about their beliefs, but once "the church" speaks on its beliefs, they're judgmental and hateful ..SMH
Everyone says whatever they want about Christians and we have to sit here and take it, not so! The LGBT community may have the government and laws backing them, but the true church, (Bible believing ones that teach in love and truth) has the ultimate judge, JESUS CHRIST backing them! Every church don't teach out of hatred and judgement, but there are those that will stand on the word of God no matter what oppositions are made!
God Bless and thanks Bishop for speaking with integrity and truth.

Issue is if you dish it.... take it. Vice verse. The church thought they were proving a point. Back fire. They need to work on discernment and hear God as well as getting out of self. Carter stated his personal wishes. Not God. Carter said "I wish". Ummmm personal.

Sorry DeeDee, but the fact is that Jesus will judge the church MORE harshly than anyone outside the church...read about the sheep and the goats. you, dear sister, are in danger of acting like one of the goats. Remember that the sheep and the goats both didn't have a clue why they were chosen for each. The "least of these" are people who are marginalised, mostly by the religiously powerful. Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand, and the LBGT community, in as much as any members show love to the least of these, and they do...will be miles ahead of their critics.

DeeDee Thompson We have been hearing the church's beliefs for hundreds of years! They are always out and about passing out pamphlets and openly sharing their beliefs on the corner. There's an overflow of Christian churches all over America and there are more Christian programs on TV than any other! So we have been getting drowned in Christian brainwashing and propaganda and now there's a growing backlash. Not just because Christianity is no longer serving our people but because of all of the hypocrisy with those who claim to be 'Saints of God" and we all know that that's a lie from hell with most of them.

Exactly, and with the overflow and all this "Praying" why is it not working to their prayers? The world should be awesome by now. Everything they have been praying away since the beginning of time should be obsolete.

I REALLY appreciate the fact the Bishop Porter preached the WHOLE gospel, and the ENTIRE Biblical Message! Thank you Bishop Brandon Porter. We were ALL born in sin and shaped in iniquity. And the reason why Jesus Christ came into the world was to transform all of us into new creations! THE GOSPEL MESSAGE!

I am so glad Bishop Brandon Porter was able to be interviewed about Andrew Caldwell, and he stood up for what the Bible teaches about Sin, and never Reprimanded Supt Earl Carter, The Preachers that talked like Supt Earl Carter are gone on now to be with the Lord, they said it just like the Bible wrote it whether you liked it or not. like he said the Bible teaches we all have Sin and come short of the Glory of God, but we make choices to either follow God Word or Reject it. God love all of His Creations, but Sin will not be excepted into the Kingdom of Heaven 1 Corinthians 6:9

Nobody is judging the homosexual, If you want to live that life style, live it! God is the one that will judge us all. BUT! just don't shove the life style down our throats. and get mad and call people names if they don't agree, or Preachers preach on what God said in the Word of God who and who will not see the Kingdom of Heaven,

I am not judging. I just asked a question. there is no little sin or big sin, Sin is sin. now if you search the Scriptures, Jesus is clear that Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexual offenders will see the kingdom of Heaven, just read 1 Corinthians 6:9

    • @marialinsey8876

Well we can not speak for every Preacher, I am sure some Preacher are touching on all Sin, It's just that if you say anything about Homosexuality all hell breaks loose, God destroyed Sodom & Gomorrah because of Homosexual acts, Preachers have to preach on this life styles God will hold Men of the Clergy accountable.

    • @marialinsey8876

First of all Children are a blessing in the sight of God however they come into this World, I would rather these Mom have these babies then to aboard them. Children are not a Sin, Second of all babies have nothing to do with Homosexuality, Homosexuality is a Sin no matter how you excuse it. But! God still loves the Homosexual He just don't love the Sin. I also understand some people struggle with that life style and and some want to be set free, and some love the lifestyle they are living, which God is the only one they have to answer to. but as far as people being bully and attack for that life style I don't agree. Well when Christ returns I wish everyone the best. Jesus said he is coming back for a Church without a spot or wrinkle.

I grew up COGIC and I heard far worse at church and even at home. They say they preach love, but many of the leaders believe that sometimes love hurts and will be harsh and offensive. They've been doing this for years. It's what they believe. Now there are pastors that are mild mannered, however this attitude is the classic attitude I grew up seeing often. I hope they take this as a learning lesson. They can believe what they want to believe- that's something I cannot force anyone to change. However, when it comes the treatment of individuals they can learn from this. If you go off the philosophy that homosexuals need to be delivered then they know that deliverance is NOT an overnight thing. Just like how many of them beat their wives, abuse children, and commit adultery- those people who did these things pleaded with the idea that it takes time to change. Okay. If homosexuality can be changed then don't expect it to be an overnight thing. Of course a truly gay person cannot be changed but that is another discussion....

So you know, Pastor was referring to those men who "desire" women like qualities. If that's the case the menstrual cycle shouldn't be an issue to endure (bleeding)...he was focusing on the feminist qualities that men seek to display.. note the walking, the dressing, etc...he was being real & factual. I don't get y a man would wanna try be like a girl period. And then he made it general that homosexuality IS wrong.

Ministers need to understand that they show so much hate towards the homosexuals by being harsh, disrespectful and mean. The best way to change a sinner is by showing love and care. Most pastors just don't know how to reach certain sinners, if it's something they consider disgusting they speak as worldly men do.

I grew up in church COGIC/PAW/UPC all my life. Both of my parents were preachers. And one thing I learned from watching my parents generation (70's-80's) this particular church-going generation made their pastors their god! They never challenged or studied for themselves they just lived and repeated whatever their pastor told them to do--it didn't matter if it was true or not! FEAR of rejection! Welcome to the Generation of (90's-00's) the Berean generation (Acts 17:11) coming up in church--we will ask questions, we will study for OURSELVES, we choose a personal relationship with God over religion, over pharisaical and man-made laws! So yes we will question and challenge any person who says they are a "representative/ambassador" for God! No matter what denomination or organization you come from. I pray my generation and PK's will continue to expose the hatred that is behind the doors of SOME churches. As a PK, I absolutely REFUSE to fund or sit under ANY ignorant and hateful teaching, of any kind, in any church. If I don't leave the church wanting to seek God for greater understanding and revelation towards love to ALL MANKIND! Then I have the right to no longer attend and fund that pastor/church/organization/denomination. I choose LOVE and UNDERSTANDING not FEAR and HATE!! I will never subject my step-children to the same ignorance my parents ignorantly subjected me to.

folks (and the media) get on my nerves sometimes! clearly this person's testimony was a bit funny, but it wasn't outrageous. the man believed he was delivered and believe that his life-style wasn't right in the eyes of God. #simple! but it's jacked-up that so many people are condemning him because of how he articulated that "he don't wanna be gay anymore." he does not want to sleep with men. i think it was courageous and bold, and that only deserves some type of encouragement (especially) from Christians. Bishop Brandon Porter- well said. Reporter - boooooooooo.

I feel for this young man. I wasted most of my youth totally miserable, pleading with God to "deliver" me for being gay. I would bet this isn't this young man's first time going to the alter and it won't be his last. Why? Because you cannot help who you find sexually beautiful & attractive. God's not going to change that. The sad truth is that many young men in his position truly want to give their lives to the Lord but find themselves feeling abandoned by the church & God because the church wants to remain true to poorly handled scripture& pure stupidity.

As a same gender loving man, I don't dress up like a woman, nor do I participate in "Gay Pride". I've chosen to live celibate and have no desire to have some man living with me. Marriage to me is ONE MAN AND ONE WOMAN. I refuse to call another man my husband or wife. I don't do gar bars either. I'm still a born again believer in Jesus Christ.

It must be very difficult to truly feel that you were born this way yet you have to fight against what you feel is natural on a daily basis. The one Q I have though is if you are a believer, and won't live in some of the 'typical' ways gay people do, why continue to call yourself same gender loving? Have you just submitted yourself to the idea that God will never change your desires or do you not want them changed? I sincerely want to understand that. God bless you!!

i am glad Bishop did that and i think that Superintendent need to be sat down, he said God legalized homosexuallity somebody should have cut his mic off. God dont legalize and sin he has no part in sin. And God word is not ignorate. God do not need our vocabulary to try and change people because we will sound just like that Supt. Earl Carter, let the word do the changing. Hebrews 4: 12 says: For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Sin is sin all of it and todays time hardly no one should be able to do anything in the church ecause of all type of sins thats going on. People need to just preach the word the real word and not speak from self. It was alot of thing that Supt. said that was not biblical and it got me that he said that God legallized homosexallity that throw me Our god dont deal in sin period he has nothing to do with it. And for al u who said he was right then god bless you, but lets just pray for each other, for the bible says in the last day that man with speak for them selves and he said there is a way that seems right to them, but not. lets study the word ourselves. let god word do the convicting not us and again god vocabulary was no where in that sermon

Just found this review, and as a woman of God and the many of gay man that have spoken to me, my God church get back to the Bible and praying. A lot of what the man of God said about things that happened around some of the men and wemen of the lgb life is more true then we want to believe because of the world want lus to know. But everyone that's told me his story is because of his life that was behind him, and his choice (how ever in the acts of passion everyone said that something would let him know that it was wrong). Move in love and maybe in Gods love you can help someone to understand the way to righteousness, in God

People stop being so judgmental. It was his choice to want to change and because of that you attack him??? You don't kick someone when they are down. The word of God convicted him and lots of others that were there too. Ask God for deliverance and he will do that but you have to have the desire to change, he won't force you to do it, he won't force his way in, you have to let him in.

I've been in COGIC my entire life and I think this whole thing was disgraceful. What Earl Carter did was distasteful and there will be a big fall out from this and he will be standing on his own. Hate the sin, love the sinner. I've never read in the bible once where Christ disdained someone for their sins. It was utter bafoonary and leaves a bad stinch on COGIG. We all know that the bible teaches that homosexuality is wrong but so is leaving your wife and marrying your girlfriend or having a wife and a girlfriend but I dont EVER hear them speaking on that. EVER. I personally know a pastor who was recently elevated to a bishop after he had left his wife and married his girlfriend. Why is that sin ok but the other not? Is it because that's not their particular sin of choice? I promise you that neither Brandon Porter, nor Earl Carter will contact this young man after the convention is over to check on him and see how he's progressing or try and mentor him through this transition in his life. It doesnt matter if someone outside of the church made the video and posted it, Pastor Carter should not have said what he said. Period.

One white person can't speak for ALL whites, one black person can't speak for ALL blacks - just like one gay person can't speak for the entire gay community. Everyone must be accountable for THEIR individual actions. Bishop Porter expressed that the message that Rev. Carter spoke on does NOT represent the views of the many individual Pastors that are connected to that organization OR the entire Christian faith. It is not fair to say otherwise. Clearly he (Porter) has a different approach than Carter. I believe he was sincere and as an individual he is entitled to HIS own option of the matter and we should NOT JUDGE the stand he has taken. I disagree with the choice of words that Rev. Carter used; however to tie Bishop Porter and the organization to what he said is totally not fair - especially when I have witness the love and kindness that many of these pastor have used to touch their local communities.

That bleeding out the butt statement was extremely mean, I agree. He should not have said that at all. However, that doesn't meant God can't and won't deliver from homosexuality if a person desires to be free from that. Also, God DOES love us all as we are, but He doesn't want us to stay as we are. That's where people get it mixed up. Ex. We love our family and friends as they are, but desire to see things changed in their lives at times. That does not abolish love, but it means we want to see a different life for them.

  • @cdwifey94

Pastor Carter responded to the wickedness happening at the Holy Convocation. It is offensive to go into God's house and boldly strut your sin. When a man comes into the house of God wearing make-up, pumps and carrying a purse you are flaunting your sin in the face of God. That 's the difference with homosexuality and other sins. They have no shame and want other people to endorse their sin. A drug addict would not come into God's house and smoke crack and not expect to be called out. If you are not trying to follow Jesus then the Bible does not apply to you so live your life and do what you feel. However, if you call yourself a Christian than don't bring your mess into God's house and get offended when it is called out. 1 Peter 4:17 says judgement will begin at the house of God. God is going to judge His house before He judges the world. If some of you never judge wrong behavior then I would hate to encounter your children.

"flaunting your sin..." really? I understand what you are saying---but you speak from a perspective of not
understanding what "homosexuality" is. First of all, wearing clothing and/or accessories associated with the opposite gender is a gender issue and doesn't mean that person is having sex...because it's the SEX that is what worries everybody, isn't it? What about the very st8 appearing and acting men who are gay. Are they flaunting as well? Oh..you just can't see what they do, right? "They have no shame"....really? But I bet those ministers and church administrators who stand before you...yet are having all kinds of secret lives outside the church...do they not have shame? Oh...but you can't see what they do, right? Reading your comment, I get the distinct impression that "visuals" and outward acts really upset you. Boldly strutting....flaunting...are words expressing your disgust.

The focus being directed at Gays was not the doings of the church but rather GAYS who came to the convocation and decided to share it, in disrespect for Holiness beliefs in that church.

This Porter person is full of it. He knows that jackass "preaching" that night was completely out of line. He also knows very well many COGIC preachers have been guilty of making similar comments in their "sermons". Every preacher in the black church knows all they have to do is start chopping off the heads of gay people to get the folks on their feet. Doesn't matter how offensive, ignorant or irresponsible the comments are because they believe God has their back. This is the circus environment in which God fearing gays have to make sense of their struggle.

Regardless of what point the preacher was trying to make, his statements were totally uncalled for and totally out of line. Holiness is right but hate rhetoric across the pulpit is NOT holiness. You can't preach holy principles with an unholy prejudice.

Jeremiah Worrell I agree with everything you've said. I used to like watching/listening to G. Greg Lewis ("The Truth Behind Hip Hop) who was always talking about "Holiness" and "The old-time way", but most of his "ministry was gossip and slander of other well-known preachers and calling homosexuals out of their names. I fond it hard to see the "ministry" in what he was doing, because it seemed like more Showtime at The Apollo than anything. I heard more "Sissies" this and "gay" that coming out of his mouth--in a few sermons than I've ever heard in my entire life. It was evident that this man was filled with hate and prejudice. And when I heard Earl Carter speak, I got the same dark, negative, oppressive vibe from him.

Bishop Porter had a great deal of nerve to blast people who are mocking or making fun of this "gay conversion" situation and the young man's "choice" to leave the "gay lifestyle." The Pastor, from the clip, did nothing but mock, make fun of and verbally attack LGBT people. The message that came from that pastor's sermon was one of hate and one that told LGBT people who have faith in Jesus Christ that you are not welcome here.

Why would He delivered this guy from homosexuality, but leaves everything about him that is associated with homosexuality. This guy sounds more womanish than an actually woman, not to mention his mannerism. It doesn't add up to the God I know and serve. That's like God healing someone of cancer, but will leave the tumor. The Virtual Church of the Disillusioned, Depressed, and Downtrodden Well, if you had read the scriptures, you would see that Jesus specifically addressed emphatically that a marriage in the eyes of GOD( He is GOD) is between a man and a woman and anything else less than that is not in His will. Everything else is just what it is, sin.

Thank you. Sadly they don't want to be accountable. Now they are the victim. Really? I am amazed folks don't get that part. They don't tell all the straight people you hope they catch a disease do they?. They don't tell an alcoholic you hope they get alcohol poison do they? They did not go out in the street amongst the gang bangers and talk all that heavy talk? Why because it is rude, disrespectful, insensitive, wishing ill upon folks. You don't just straight talk down to folks like you are chastising your child at home. The young man might have wanted deliverance or he could have been ticked that this preacher would say such a thing as he sit there with a bow tie on...... and decide to turn things upside down. He will be the only one to really know. But, my point is you can push folks away doing too much and Carter went overboard. I would have walked out hearing something like that and I am not gay. I
have fellowship with cogic, cooljc, pentecostal ect. Folks need to get back in tune and get that discernment and other things back in order. Folks are blind to themselves slipping and don't want to be accountable.
