The real challenge is the left and right, back and forth for the tiny tiny details, once completing such a challenge nothing will be impossible!
Once I saw your videos and noticed that I couldn't use all the decorations or buildings when I started up a new sandbox like how you could. Then I watched your answered questions video and understood why: I play on Xbox One. And now this video just shows how it feels when I try and build a park, pretty limiting. Love how you recognize all the console players and don't use mods [just yet] and now build parks using only a single era, making it easier for me to build parks like you do.

Remember my ammonite, turtle and plesiosaur path art from battle of the builders? All on playstation, with a controller. It is possible, but the frustration is real lol :) I've never considered getting a keyboard because I've always used controllers and feel like I'd have to learn the controls all over again, and yes I line paths with wall/planters, I use monorail decoratively and I do path art.

Im the same . As i always use controllers on xbox and tried once to use m & k and i was slower than a turtle on land i soon switched back to controller
As an Xbox One player, I genuinely thank you for making this video. Y'all would not have a clue how hard it is for me to get any sort of motivation because how difficult building is, especially because I have not much to build with and precision is difficult.
You, (and by extension the real console players) have my utmost respect for this build. It looks great! and well done for sticking with it!

And yes I do use all the tricks and lining and stuff as a console player.
Probably the worst thing to do on console is, drawing island shapes, cuz I made an entire dilophosaurus skull island and it took me like 3/4 hours to make. And yes If you play long enough you get pretty sweaty hands. Especially playing shooting games or horror games.

Hey, Evo, I'll say more, you didn't feel the worst limitation, only those who play on old consoles know how bad the optimization is, you can't make parks of a good size, you have to settle for small parks or just sections :/ I spent 2 years making construction videos on the Xbox One X, it was hell (game closing by it self, console turning off, fps down, I had to delete the park sections while recording the others lol...), I recently got a PC and felt the huge difference
since this IS a small build, I think that extra limitation of old console doesn't make a difference for what I did.
@@EvolutionSquare Yep, i know, and the section turned out great and it's a good size for anyone who wants to make it on PS4/Xone. I'm just mentioning this big problem with the game, i'm sure if there is a JWE3 it definitely won't be released on older consoles =/
I have a beast of a PC and the game wouldn’t run in it. Literally couldn’t place on building without a drop in fps. Runs perfectly fine on my PS5 when I build massive parks.

7:06 - I do all of the things as far as decorating but don’t do much path art because it’s a nightmare. I don’t do a lot of glitches though… because I can’t be bothered. 😅. I’m glad to see it’s not just me, because I thought it was just me struggling on console.
I'm a old-gen console player, I feel the pain of the limitations every time I play JWE2, but I really enjoyed watching this video, thx Evo for being one of my fav youtubers, you give so much advice for the game.😊
Evo I'm so happy you did this. I'm a ps5 player I have been watching your channel for a long time and you have made me get so much better at my parks. It is super hard to make things look perfect like you do using a controller and I just don't want to use a keyboard and mouse. I have done some super detailed stuff and it isn't perfect but you make it work. Your fluffy bush hack is probably one of the best for console compromises. I wish I could show you some of my stuff and get your opinion. The last park I made if I actually opened it I think my ps5 would explode
I'm an Xbox player and a PC player and how you were fumbling around with a controller is the same way I fumble around using a keyboard and mouse.

Yes i play on xbox and bought a keyboard and mouse but soon switched back to controller as i found it easier to use
Pc controls are easy
B: bumper (above the triggers)
T: trigger
S: stick
For example:
LS: left stick
RB: right bumper
LT: left trigger

Changing the sensitivity to -10 REALLY helps with lining path.

I’ve actually turned my sensitivity to +20. After a while I’ve gotten really good at precision. And I turned it up since controller is really slow.

I’ve always wondered if I could apply more delicate detailing with a mouse and keyboard. So I’m going to say this proves it is harder to do finicky decoration placement with the console controller.
You did a beautiful job as always. I’m glad you didn’t rage quit, but understand not wanting to put yourself through more of it. lol

As a person who plays on console, I tell say that lining stuff is a hell you can escape
As someone who plays on Controller in console (next gen console) I do build details and all that neat stuff it is a bit of pain but with time you get used to it, you could say the only enemy would be stick drift lol.
i tried Mouse & Keyboard once but I couldn't get used to it, I felt it was easier to do camera controls and all that on controller, all though I feel that on mouse you could be more precise but I'm just more of a controller player!
I could try it again in the future but I'll definitely need to get comfortable with using keyboard & mouse.

Don't know if anyone told you, but RS means Right Stick and if you press down the stick (not pulling it in your direction but putting pressure on top of it) that means pushing the button RS. Also works with the left one of course.
And regarding the motion sickness, that can be caused by a too small field of view. Unfortunately it's not so easy to change in JWE2. Maybe you can tweak the engine ini file.

I am used to using controller because I grew up with the ps4 and later upgraded to ps5 so I understood many of the symbols and what they are so that’s why I use controller and honestly I personally find it very quick the joystick combined with spam place makes it very easy for me to line paths
Ive been searching up possible build tricks to make parks look better on ps4, and then this came out. I also am still stuck on ps4, it's hell. I also do not line paths that often unless I am truly determined

I mostly avoid it nowadays because the lagoons have to be HUGE and that's just wasteful
Hi Evo, it's me, BigHank. I started playing JWE1 on my Xbox One, and I bought JWE2 on Nov, 2021, and in September 2023, I got an Xbox series S on my birthday, and I can enable all buildings and biomes. Honestly, I feel super bad for you, lol. Sometimes, I don't make things all perfect, but I usually still love it. I was struggling to straighten paths, fences, buildings, and tracks, too. But I NEVER GIVE UP!!!! Sorry, XD I had to yap like that, lol.
As a ps4 player it brings me much joy watching other people struggle when using a PS4 for Jurassic World evolution two

This was a great video as always evo! You asked why not just play with mouse and keyboard and for me personally I just find all the buttons and letters on the keyboard to complicated and am much more comfortable with a controller. I know that’s kind of dumb sounding cause I’m typing this right now but when letters are used for something other than words it just feels wrong. There’s also a lot fewer buttons on controllers which makes it easier for me to use. Again that’s just my personal opinion I know many others will feel much different and that’s ok. Hope that provides a decent answer to your question. I love your content and am so excited for future park builds!!!
Mostly as an og player of JWE1 on ps4, i could just quick learn the JWE2 controls anyway, i do think it takes quite time and myself i take months to finish a good super decorated big park covering the whole park, but i think its good, maybe a better controls for both pc and console players for center decorations in path would be awesome, great video Evo 🎉❤
As a console player this was hilarious. Yeah placing a bunch of detailed stuff is super hard on console so I often make some compromises in my builds. Also I sit on my couch several feet from my console so I can’t really use a mouse and keyboard with it
On the Controller, the Buttons are:
Start/Pause: Looks like it has a play symbol on it.
D-Pad: The + shaped button group, used for optional direction/movement option or part of an inventory menu depending on the game.
LB/L1: Left Bumper/Left button 1
LT/L2: Left Trigger/Left button 2
LS/L3: Pushing down on the Left Joystick activates Left Joystick Button/Left button 3
Left Joy stick: used for movement of some type usually
RB/R1: Right Bumper/Right button 1
RT/R2: Right Trigger/Right button 2
RS/R3: Pushing down on the Right Joystick activates Right Joystick Button/Right button 3
Right Joy stick: used for movement of some type usually
You have on the right side of the controller, 4 circular buttons that are in a diamond/plus pattern, on Xbox you will see X, Y, B, A on it, PlayStation you will see Square, Triangle, Circle, X on it.
There may be other buttons as well like a select button and so on.
Those are the standard buttons to the controllers.
I play mostly on Controllers in general as trying to navigate in games with mouse and keyboard are a pain for my hands, Controllers just are easier to keymap to what you need, but I do understand that practice with the keyboard and mouse will improve your ability to use it, it is just hard to do when you have issues with moving your fingers and hands to the correct keys or mouse movements, so a more confined setup of buttons on a controller is much easier.
But will say that games made for consoles are a bit more restrictive as it needs to be made for Console hardware abilities and for easier use with controllers.
As an Xbox one player I appreciate this video. And in case no one has said it yet. RS means right joystick by clicking it you move through the axis for the rocks.

Evo, you earned the respect of every console player that struggles with this limitations. Sad thing thou that you can’t make big parks this detailed, trust me, I invested 2 1/2 weeks building an ultimate park in Nublar. Every time I open the file, it crashes…. Every now and then I have to stop myself from putting too many things and keep it simple 😢

Ive been using a controller since i can remember and i see things a little differently. First of all i have the opposite when it comes to stiffness, as i find keyboard keys way too easy to press and i keep presding multiple keys at once. Another thing is unlike the Xbox Series consoles, the Xbox One does not support keyboard and mouse (not sure about PlayStation). Also yes, placing decorations neatly is incredibly frustrating so i kind of just avoid using many of them. Another thing, RS means right stick (the right thumbstick) and it prompts you to press the stick in those situations.

As a console TH-camr for this and the previous game it’s crazy. But I still find the funny side so it’s not bad. but when this game reaches its end and goes into modding I’ll have to get used to pc more.

I play this on ps4 and ps5. It's one of those situations where what fits me doesn't fit others. I can manoeuvre and do what you do with ease and complete detailed parks on the console. I can't however use a PC keyboard and mouse to play games, it's alien to me. Watching you do this with a controller would be the same as me using a keyboard. I only use console so it's intuitive and second nature ro me 😊
It's kinda funny seeing her struggle with something I'm used to. I play on PS5 now, so I'm used to the controller, but I used to be limited to certain things on my PS4. I do have JWE2 on PC, but mouse and keyboard are suuuuper hard for me
As an Xbox one player I can confidently say that we don't do the monorail roof or line paths because we value having an afternoon to spend.
also I would say most of us past gen console players don't focus on how a park looks and more on how it functions or the dinosaurs enclosure.
We don't normally make our parks to make it look good for guests because it could make the most calm man commit many atrocities.
The reason we don't use keyboard is because most player finds keyboard and mouse to confusing.
One reason is because we're use to every button having a use.
another reason is that if a console player is going to spend £59 there most likely comfortable with controller and have it mesmerised in there muscle memory and we don't see any point on memorising an entire new control system just for one game due to other popular Xbox or PS4 games not having keyboard compatibility.

I have it for PS five and Xbox definitely a PS five is the best. I use a lot of your part build actually for ideas for my park. It goes a lot simpler the lines that are for guides. Also, you can just hold the button to make path instead of just clicking it. I chose console because I can’t play computers as I had cancer and my left side is kind of messed up

For those who want to shout at Evo behind your screens. Rs is when u push down on the joystick.
I've only ever played on my series X so I don't know how different it is from PC, but I can attest that building stuff the way you want to can be challenging. I wish they had a grid layout that you can turn on and off so you know for sure when stuff is perfectly lined up. Also, if you place your initial fence near a pathway, I wish it would give you an option to have it perfectly snap to the exact same distance away from the path all the way around the enclosure. Sometimes the snap to element doesn't work very good IMO.
The controller park building is tough, but it means what you build feels 10 times more awesome and makes you feel more proud of yourself with how much you've done and how tough it was to build that, so good on you Evo!

As a ps4 player I approve of this video and the reason I don’t get a keyboard is once you get the hang of it it’s like typing where you’ll be a master and I do path art and sometimes line paths but not use monorails like you do

RS is Right Stick. You click down on the top of the right analog stick. I’ve played console most of my life. It’s what I’m comfortable with, using a mouse and a keyboard at the same time seems like a lot of multitasking for my simple brain. Plus my console is out in the living room with the only TV we have and there isn’t really a comfortable place to put a keyboard and mouse.
And yes, the lack of finesse the controller gives you for rotating objects makes it incredibly difficult, frustrating and time consuming to make things look extra pretty so I will usually just make neat habitats for my critters and half ass the decorations because I don’t have the patience or time. Being a parent, full time worker on night shift and a spouse means there’s very little time of at all that I get ME time. So if I choose to play this game out of library of dozens of games I don’t take a lot of time to make things pretty.
Hello! I've played both JWE and JWE2 on console and yes, the struggle is real. I grew up playing on consoles so it makes some aspects of the game easier but it is difficult when you have a specific vision in mind. I think these limitations are part of why I primarily focus on profit rather than my park's visual appearance. Also, RS refers to the Right Stick. Push down on the right thumbstick and it will do what you were wanting to do.

I actually didn’t know you could use M&k on console. Didnt even realize why all my builds were always so bad, until I saw this video. This is not only entertaining, but educational for the players

We use a controller to save the need to buy and learn a hole new way of controlling the game. The way you have had to learn the controller would be the same for us learning keyboard and mouse. It is easier to go to keyboard and mouse from controller and i acknowledge this but still think its the main reason for console players maily using controller.
I'm a PS4 player and do everything with controller. I'm just very comfortable with a playstation controller. Xbox controller, I may just chuck that brick out the window.
Good effort (it was halrious watching you suffer), I suspected it was probably a lot easier with mouse and keyboard but I'll stick with my controller now. We're one like it's moulded to my hands.

Evo, RS is Right Stick, it’s what controls the camera; but to use it for the toggle axis and multi-place on buildings, you have to push it like a button, it should click when you do

I feel your pain Evo, I decided to hook up a controller for elden ring the other day and it had been years since i last held a controller. it didn't go well lol. I am super proud of you for completing the build and it turned out great! Also RS means Right Stick ! (idk if you ended up figuring it out cause it looked like you might have in the speed build but i thought id say just in case you didnt)

The only reason I dont use mouse and keyboard is because we have our xbox in our living room, attached to a tv. So in order to have a mouse and keyboard set-up, I'd have to sit on the floor in front of the tv. Very entertaining video 🎉

All jokes aside, with enough time, you can really get used to this. Try recreating your favorite park on console, you might think it's hard but really there aren't any limitations when building on console. You would be amazed if you saw what me and others have made of Ps4 or others! All quite awesome.

I have been watching you for years and have attempted to recreate some portions of your builds but I have a ps4 so seeing your frustration has actually been helpful because I always wonder why it is more difficult for me. I see a keyboard and mouse in my future!

As a pure PC player I like the precision that PC provides and I’m pretty sure from this video console is definitely not as precise as PC

I played on ps4 until Christmas 2023 when my dad bought me a PS5 first time playing evolution 2 was the most freeing experience of my life
Some of us line and monorail and stuff I do it to a degree although I have made a fully decorated park and I’m not exaggerating it took 4 1/2 days
I'm gonna answer your questions real quick: 1.) I use a controller because I have the muscle memory for it, so it's easier in a way, and because I had no idea before now that the console version even supported keyboard. 2.) I usually don't bother to line my paths or use monorail as decoration unless it's one of my bigger builds, as it seems like a waste to suffer through that for a build that I may not even come back to.
As for tips; I would begin by turning your sensitivity down. In relation to LS, You have to press down on your left joystick.
Just in case anyone is new to console (using a PlayStation controller in particular), L is the left joystick, L1 is the left bumper, L2 is the left trigger, and L3 is the left joystick button (you press down on the joystick). The same applies to the right; R is the right joystick, R1 is the right bumper, and so on. All of the rest are self explanatory. This simplicity of the controls is why I personally prefer PlayStation, aside from the fact that their controllers are symmetrical, unlike Xbox's. I'm not bagging on Xbox users or anything, it's just my opinion.

I play with a controller on console and I don’t struggle to line path or make monorail roofs. I think it’s more just what you’re used to considering I have a hard time using wasd keys to move the camera on building sims.
