It’s not the spur gear at fault. The plastic gear is more than strong enough. Fit a GPM aluminium gear cover so you have a metal thread for the top M4 gear cover screw, that screw helps hold the gear mesh in place, with the plastic gear cover, the screw loosens itself and allows the gear mesh to loosen, stripping the spur gear.
Yea on rigs that are 1/8th and smaller I usually like the plastic spurs, never had a problem, been doing double backflips on my e revo 2.0 for years but if it does break, at least it’s just a cheap plastic spur not my entire drive line. Got a couple of spares collecting dust for that day 😂
Thank you brother! You got that right man! This and the Maxx Slash are true warriors!! Such beasts man! Heck yeah bro! We are gonna send them to the heavens!💪⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️🏆🏆🏆🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Wow, very impressive. I love my Maxx v2. In the nearly 2 years I've had mine I've only broken one axel and both the upper and lower arms on the front left. Those were two separate terrible landings. -- I recently upgraded my wheel hubs to the aluminum ones ... as the standard plastic ones were starting to wear but again that's after two years of use. -- Great video as always Team Thunder!
Thank you soo much for sending the other one my way. I just received some more upgrades for it today! But man I love the way they look when they’re fresh.!
Damn.awsome video I have 2 options . Either a tricked out MAXXV2 from a co worker here at work ( with a lot of uppgrades ) , ore a preused bone stock sledge I need to invest in .. Just for the occasionally fun bash down at the school playground .. what you think ?
Awesome thunder. Yeah brother that Maxx takes a beating. Yeah pinion is not a break. Traxxas needs to use hardened steel spur ans pinion like arrma does. What a great RC I'm impressed
Could always try some plumbers tape on the screws that go into plastic that you can’t loctite. I’ve done it on my shock screws that back out of A arms often, seemed to do the job
get yourself a Max8 G2, run it 23/50 on 6s with Arrma Backflip LP wheels and it will run nuts! The car is to heavy for 4s... believe me, this conversin is 1000% worth it!
2:03 the Mojave 4S takes nose dives like that too. You should get one! I have yet to break mine by crashing and I've beat on it harder than any of my other Arrma rigs. I don't think it's tougher than the Maxx overall, but it puts up a damn good fight.
Awesome to see your got another 1/10 scale basher Rocky BTW do you still have your Rival MT10? If you do I would love to see you do a "Vs" video on MAXX Vs Rival MT10?? Fantastic job on the skatepark bash session Rocky👍👍
A metal spur gear wouldnt help from traxxas with my experience. I couldnt drive my brand new xmaxx for weeks until i got aftermarket gears. Both stock sets shattered in a total of 5min drive time out of the box
I took those stupid pins out of the motor mount , set my own mesh and have not broken a traxxas gear in a year , they are to tight from factory , when the chassis flexes they bind up and shatter the teeth with the pin system.
Throwing shade at Arrma owners at a Skate park? Really? Well, I'm a mature owner of RC's i dont rip them in skate parks, because most RC's i own are designed for offroad surfaces and use. These companies only prop up Skate park usage during ad campaigns because they KNOW morons are going break and buy constantly, Corporate America depends on ignorant consumer habits to maximize profits LOL. Its not that serious, some of us with common sense understand Traxxas= more views, you will have another "This is the toughest RC" next week, its all good bro LOL.
Awesome you bought another Maxx, those were always some of my favourite RC videos to watch 🤙

Finally bro, you got yourself the most durable basher out there. Can't wait to run our Maxxes together. Great video, as always.

Love my Maxx, Awesome to see it go on your channel!

Hell yah bud . Glad you got another maxx . Always a great refresher to drive and video
Hell yeah! Love to see what you do to beef the V2 up! I just got the same truck and wondering what your doing for front and rear diff oil
Indestructible.. super voiture. Je veux la même

Yes my brother! This truck is a superior basher with a few minor upgrades! Love the Maxx man! 💪🏆⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️
Sick!
Maxx vs:
Outcast 4s
Kraton 4s
Kagama 6s (due to price similarity)
Would all be great vids!
I was thinking of doing maxx vs outcast 4s
Definitely would love to see that vid instead of all the larger rigs
@@CanadianRC96 that would be a good one! Useful for sure. Even though we know the Outcast will win 😉
Epic RC Action 🎬 ace stuntaage!! Legend
Awesome video brother keep up the great work
Santísimo!... I have one Maxx, and I have always got a feeling like this truck is somehow a little fragile, but wow!
Have you broken it? If so what was the problem?
I love my maxx v2 it takes a pounding!! Awesome job on this one!👍😁😎✌️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥

I see bulkheads cracked or broken on that slap, 😂
The Maxx rear ring and pinion part # 8977 keeps breaking on me. Will you recommend GPM TS1200S as an alternative?
Solved that crew issue in the skid plate by adding a metal skid shield to it. No more ripped out bolts.
Oh wow! I’m gonna try that bro! Thanks! 🏆🔥🔥⚡️⚡️🏆🔥
Feel like that adds a lot of weight… try using plumbers tape on screws that go into plastic that wanna back out
@@V8chumpI’m running 6s so it doesn’t make a difference. 4s maybe
Glad to see the Maxx

I 2nd this! My Mojave 4s is still on stock gears and I havent been nice to it at all! Its a tank!
@HumlsHobbies it's CRAZY. I land on the side often too. Plus nose dives constantly and it is fine completely. I love it
@@K5_RC Its by far my favorite truck I own. Not only does it take a beating but it handles so well!
@HumlsHobbies it does! I live in the Mojave Desert so it fits right at home
@@K5_RC I envy you! I live in flat land IL! It sucks lol! But I make the best of it!
The only flaws are the esc n servo mines went out on the 6 pack off bashing, solid rc over all do.
Thunder what do you think, this or the Arma granite?
When accelerating a little, does it cogging a little?
No I haven’t noticed

Fantastic job on the skatepark bash session Rocky👍👍
Best car ever !!! gruss aus hamburg germany 🥸
If I didn't already have a v1 and a v2 this video would make me feel comfortable about buying one. They truly do take a punishment. 🤙🤙
Is this the V3 in the video? I thought the V2 was the newest
@@trashbag8124 i wasn't aware of a v3

My maxx keeps stripping metal spur gears. Any ideas why?
I know the arrma Mojave 4s and 6s can take that easily. Had my x maxx gears explode the first bash my outcast 8s gears are still strong.
Did you buy it because of the maxx slash
AWESOME 🔥
man i got the kagama and this thing wont chassis slap like my maxx
dont know what i can change to fix it
aussi mallo ute 625 horse power w1 lsa mine
Too bad the bottom screws rip out all the time.
If those were fixed up some that wouldn’t be such a issue
Did Arrma do something bad to you though? Seems there’s a lot of hate for Arrma in your videos.
Haha no they didn’t 🤣I love Arrma but I am just stating the facts on durability. That is what my channel is mainly focused on. ⚡️⚡️🏆🏆
Bash an old emaxx and see how it does lol
