So proud of my cousin Alex Winston, I love this song. Can’t wait for another new album soon.
I don't know why Alex Winston isn't a household name. I heard of her by accident after a friend saw her perform at SXSW. I checked out some videos around TH-cam and it was like I had never heard music before that moment. As with all great music the quality of song writing is beyond my understanding, as it should be.
I wish Alex had some sort of presence around here, but I see no evidence of that (outside of the videos of course). I see no comments or replies by her in this channel, no video where she talks, nothing in any video description except credits and links to buy music (which is fine)-but no links for social medias and such. I feel that someone else runs this channel, uploading a few times a year. I almost think she does not use the internet. Alex, if you ever see this, come to the internet. :)

She even goes on Twitter and tweets out links on ways to hang out before the show. I missed her during SXSW but was able to see her open for Neon Trees in Houston. I met her before the show and she is just the raddest person. She instantly climbed up my list of favs after her live performance. She's gonna be one of those artists that I will try my best to see live as many times as possible

I heard this song on a United Airlines flight from Munich to Dulles... Now I'm hooked. How she isn't more popular is beyond me.
Artists becoming popular and mainstream is more than just having talent or playing to a specific audience.
To me, she'd be a ghost trapped into this old man's memory. He seems to be the only one who notices her, and she sings endlessly in the hope to be let go of.

Why isn't this song more popular?? I expected to see millions of views but it only has 42,000 views.
It feels like she's trapped in a limbo, confined, even though she knows and expresses what she wants.
In the absence of glam and the beautiful backup dancers we almost expect, anxieties play out, both in the song, and in the video, that fantasies can go unmet despite our desires and intentions.
