    Thanks for the tips about being able to use regular size plates from the Big Shot manual machine in it, I didn’t know that - it would save me heaps of money on cutting plates - fantastic tip !😊🎉

    So pleased this has come out - I’ve been avoiding using my Big Shot because of my hands. My switch is coming next week😍 1 week later - all set up and it’s so simple to use! It has a nice neat footprint and really saves my arthritic hands. I bought a Precision Plate to use with it as I use a lot of thin dies as well as my steel rule dies. It’s a game changer for me!

      I'm not so sure you should use a precision plate with th Switch. I know you can't on the fold away. Please verify with Sizzix

    Thanks for this, I have a tim holtz stamp platform due to poor dexterity and this helped me get back to stamping. a macine like this will help me back to die cutting and embossing again. I love my cuttlebug, but just dont have the dexterity for winding it now.

    Hello, i am from Canada and my machine is due to arrive tomorrow June 10th. I have had it on order since end of February beginning of March. Hey Janette, I too bought the large Gemini machine (arthritis issues) around the same time as you and I do love it, however when I started to get into mini albums, I soon learned you cannot use it with steel rule dies. It is for that reason, after much pondering and looking for a sale, that I just ordered the Switch. I can't afford having both machines so I will have to sell the Gemini but it is a great machine. Happy crafting, Janette

    My arms are not very usable lol so I wondered if I can always reverse every cut, ie never need to let it come out of the back? That would be so fabulous. I only really use thin dies but I use a lot. Thank you for your videos xx

I have done the same as you but when I hit the button for the platform, etc. to go through there is a loud grinding noise. When it comes out the other side, the cutting pads are bent, the top one more than the bottom. Why???

    Hi Sharon, can you tell me please if you are still happy with the sizzix big shot switch plus machine? I am a crafter in Australia and I can get one from our local Spotlight store, I was thinking seriously about getting it as I’ve just done a lot of die cutting with my normal big shot and its making my shoulder hurt, its an injury I sustained about 5 years ago. I was wondering why my shoulder was aching more recently and using the handle on my big shot has just made the penny drop! So glad I can use the normal plates too. Thank you for the very good review. @sharoncurtis  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Sandy. Yes, I do, I tend to use my smaller, manual Big Shot day to day, and I keep the Switch under my desk to save space, but I've recently started using a lot of A4 sized dies from Carnation, so it's on and off my desk constantly!

    Hi Sharon, I have just been watching your video demo you done 10 months ago on the Sizzix big shot switch plus I was very impressed with your demo so I subscribed to your Channel 👍 I had an Electric die cutting & embossing Machine for about 6 years but it has just given up the Ghost Please can you answer a few questions for me ( I didn’t Notice in your demo what Sort of handles the machine had & how Heavy it is )……………( and could you leave the Plastic covering on the plates to help to stop Them marking )
    Thank you I hope you get this message all the best Lin P.S Love to watch you on Telly ❤️👍

    • @sharoncurtis
      @sharoncurtis  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Linda, there are handles on the side (I think from memory I cover that in my unboxing video so you might want to watch that too). The machine is fairly heavy but easy enough to lift and move). No, leaving the plastic on the plates wouldn’t stop them marking, the plastic cover would soon get shredded and make a mess. It’s normal for the plates to mark, just keep flipping and rotating them, and place your dies in different areas to get the most out of them.

    Advice please….I’ve had my machine for some time but am finding the top plate is quite scarred from the back side of the die (I cut die face down). The scarring is transferring to the card stock. Very annoying. I place printer paper over the die to try to prevent it but the paper lasts only 2 passes and then it too transfers scarring to the card stock. It’s like there is too much pressure. And hints?

    • @sharoncurtis

      you can try placing the die in different areas of the plate as well as what you are doing with copier paper.

      Just got mine- don’t know how much it weighs but it’s lighter than the Gemini. Very easy for me to lift and manoeuvre and I’ve got weak grip.

    Thank you very much for your tutorial! Question: You used a squar-ish sized charcoal base platform (it might have been about 6" square?). Its name? It sounded as though you called it a "chrome bass plate?" Also, I was not clear when that platform should be used. Thank you, in advance.

    • @sharoncurtis
      @sharoncurtis  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I do have another video on the accessories for the Sizzix machines that you might want to check out, and there is one specifically on the Chrome Precision Base plate. It's used for those really intricate, detailed dies that you'd normally have to run back and forth through the machine a few times to get to cut perfectly.

    You obviously know your product, so I feel that you will be able to answer this question. I have asked a ton of Sizzix reps and they just "fluff me off." They seem to think the sandwich for the Big Shot and Big Shot Plus is the same. Here's my question: I want to cut craft foam (to be used in shaker cards) using my Big Shot Plus. What is the order for making the sandwich? I will be using a thin metal die. Thank you.

    • @sharoncurtis
      @sharoncurtis  ปีที่แล้ว

      The sandwich would be the same for the Big Shot and the Big Shot plus. For thin metal dies, it's base plate, thin die adapter, then two cutting plates. You can put your dies face down or face up. You will find mixed results with craft foam and thin metal dies - obviously they are meant just for card stock, so to cut something like foam, you need to make sure it's not too thick or too dense.

    Can you use movers and shapers with this machine?? I’ve tried to find the answer online and it seems as though you can’t. I just want to double check with an expert

    • @sharoncurtis
      @sharoncurtis  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If it's the movers and shapers that fit into a Bigz die then yes. The mouth opening for the Switch is the same as the standard and plus Big Shot, so you can use the plates, platforms, accessories that you use with the manual Big Shot's with the Switch.

    A lot of people are getting rid of their Bigz dies but I like them because they can cut so many layers at one time. I have the Fold-Away and was very disappointed because one side would not fold up. Made me so angry because I could not get anyone to help me with that from the company. I had given away my Big Kick so I kept the Fold-Away so I can use the Bigz dies. I have many other manual and electric machines. I would like to get this machine but I don't know if I can justify the cost. Thank you for the very informative video. I knew Sissix would finally get on the electric band wagon, it would just be a matter of time for them to do it and work out all the kinks from the other machines. 3D embossing folders can be a real problem and I think the Sissix machines handle them the best.

    Hi Sharon I just bought the big shot plus Switch and I love it, can I use me magic mat and will the plates warp easily

    • @sharoncurtis
      @sharoncurtis  ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a bit more pressure on the Switch, but it has been designed to have optimum pressure so it doesn’t warp the plates too fast. Make sure you flip and rotate them. I’ve never used the magic mat personally (but you do want to consider your warranty if using non Sizzix accessories as it might affect it).

    Brilliant!! Didn't know that I can use the platforms from my manual bagshot. So much easier when you're not using A4 size card/dies and paper. Didn't find the pictures on the platform very helpful for embossing without a folder. Have now ordered the embossing mats for it.

    Sharon, can you help me please? What is the correct sandwiches for using Sue Wilson & Spellbinders dies in may new Switch? I've had to resort to using my Gemini machine for these dies as the recommended sandwich will not go through my Switch. I love the Switch but this is driving me crazy! Please can you help me?

    Hi - I just opened my new machine and did the first cut which went beautifully. When I tried a second cut it kept spitting back the materials. I did exactly like the first time? I then tried to eliminate the green plate but still the same results. Tried to emboss and again it kept spitting it back out? Any suggestions. Thanks, Karen
