L-39 Albatros Electric Ducted Fan Jet

Overview
Joining the "Jet Set" has never been easier.
The high-viz trim scheme is already applied. A power system, most onboard gear, and all hardware are ready to go, installed at the factory. And the only assembly that remains is easy and over with in about 15 minutes. Add a receiver and a charged 4S pack and your departure time is minutes after you get to the field.
Give it a hand launch, and it settles down into smooth, easy-handling flight almost immediately. Blip the throttle and it’s suddenly downfield and disappearing fast. Line up for a low pass, push the throttle to the firewall - and feel the rush that you’ve been waiting for.

It was one great Sunday Jan.
Looking at a older jet, you can see how quickly these foam jets are progressing. In fact, all of the planes are getting better and better.
We'll have to start putting small bombs on them to protect ourselves from the insanity of the world!
You said it good my friend. Really true.
Only this model, being an older jet seems better than comparable contemporary releases in many ways. Includes 2 pilots and clear canopy, not just painted over foam. The airframe itself looks pretty nice and it flies great, quite fast yet slows down pretty well and has impressive endurance for an EDF. The only minus I see is the noise but it seems like a good trade off to me.
If there is another new 50mm EDF L39 or what have you that can better this I would love to hear about it.

What size battery?? This 50mm L-39 is great!! HobbyZone needs to rethink things and bring this back to us all. The other 50's are doing great, this would be even better. I hope that you can keep this little gem in one piece. I'd say they're hard to find.

Oh yeah.
I was lucky and found someone selling the Katana 55mm pnp, mig-15 50mm, and l-39 50mm. All for $100 usd. The old power systems are apparently Notorious for falling apart. The Katana has the loud stock setup. I put x-fly in the other two and they sound great.
Awesome video my friends, this little devil is fast for a 50mm! And it handles the wind very good, as if it has a little gyro inside.

A little tip for bungee launching, you want 5 Times the weight of plane on the cord. Also never use a stick on hook! You need a Secure and strong location for the hook to be mounted to. Put a piece of plywood on the inside of the aircraft and running through screw. With the right pull that double sided tape hook will pull off like nothing

I think Arrows also has them now.
One can still get the Albatross V2 from Banana Hobby, in Blue and white....but only with 1 pilot

Little up if possible.
Go find videos on the pin and tube system for bungee launches, much better than the hook.

@@PetrincicBrosRC Here is the idea: It is from a thread on rcgroups.
For my Funjet, rather than putting a hook on it, I pushed a piece of brass tubing up from the bottom of the fuse, with the tube angled about 20 or 30 degrees upper end forward. The bungee pulls on a pin that is inserted into the tube. Under tension the pin wants to push up into the tube providing a positive connection for launch, and without tension and as the model overruns the bungee, the pin drops out easily.
Using the tube gave me plenty of support from the foam. Probably overkill as I gather lots of folks just stick hooks into foam, but works nicely.
For the pin you use a cotter pin slips easily out of the brass tube.
