The riff is free on TH-cam so go there and read my appropriate for the movie but inappropriate for anywhere else. Don Dohler produced a SFX book co-produced by Starlog Magazine in the late 70's! It was my first special makeup effects book I ever read--I loved it (hell, I still might have it somewhere). It also included the SFX OF one of his films, probably the first Star Trek fan film ever made called Paragon's Paragon (If I remember correctly) and one other SF film by stop motion animator David Allen (I think).
I love how compared to the kind of monsters you would expect to see in these kind of movies the reviewer's thoughts on them is a solid complement. One I honestly agree with myself.
I love Don Dohler movies and you should absolutely do them all. Vinegar Syndrome just releases Night Beast on Blu-ray and Fiend is also available on Blu-ray from Massacre video. Maybe some boutique label will release this one soon.

The movie Galaxy Invader was riff fodder by Rifftrax a while back, the movie Pod People was recycled by Film Ventures International and added the footage from Galaxy Invader so they could "copyright" it for their own. Kind of like what they did with Stranded with space (using footage from Prisoners from a Lost Universe), Master Ninja (unknown source), and the rest from stock footage.

Dear god... I came across this movie way back in the early '80s on a late-late show. As a little kid fond of sci-fi and horror, this travesty made me both angry and tired. I think I made it to the first alien "reveal" before I passed out. The next morning, I had pretty much forgotten about it...'til now!

I saw this movie a few years ago because it was part of a collection of low budget sci-fi films. This was one of 50 films in the collection.
They are still not as dirty as the cast of SQUIRM and THE GIANT SPIDER.

This was the first feature I worked on back in 1984. I'll admit, Don never had the big budget that some indie films get, but they were fun to work on!
Fun fact: The actor who played Frank has a credit (in the end credits) for PROVIDING HIS OWN HAT.
That's because if the producers had to provide him with a hat it would have represented 20% of the budget
