Absolutely, it’s doesn’t pull the cap, that usually cause shrinkage and bulkyness. It also save alot of thread and I find it more secure than zigzag stitch.
❤❤❤❤❤ LOVE IT!! My daughter told me she watched videos about this method, and I was like, no way, how would that work? You have changed my entire point of view AROUND! Not only will I be sewing my own clothes....now my wigs, too. I stopped making my own wigs because, honestly, it became a lengthy project to do....BUT this method is a game changer for me. Thank you so much for this tutorial.
There are 2 reasons I cut the cap, to make it move easily on the sewing machine and also to avoid it showing under the HD lace because it’s very thin and see through. Cutting the fabric under the closure doesn’t affect the size of the wig. I hope this explanation helps, thanks for watching.
Sorry I was taught that while placing a 5by 5 closure, u shouldn't pin it straight...u should make an m shape with the 5by 5 close before u sew...but urs was flat
There's a lot of factor that goes into closure placements. I usually do that for 6x6 and 7x7s because the length has touched the brow area (a.k.a mini frontal), but it can also apply to 5x5s if you're working on a small size cap. The way the closure is cut can also play a factor. The GOLDEN RULE is making sure the closure is flush on the sides and back, and there's no air bubbles or gathering. P.S if you create an unnecessary M shape in front, you can risk creating an extra inch or 2 in your ear to ear measurement. I hope you understand, thanks for your insight.
Thank you so much Yemi. I had no idea that you can sew on wig cap with a straight stitch. That’s a game changer for me as a beginner!!!!

Hi, thanks for this video. Just a quick question, would the stitching make the wig too tight?
No it doesn’t
Queria fazer uma pra mim
You have lovely fingers and nails.😊
Thank you for your compliment and thanks for watching 😊
Hello! What are your sewing machines settings when using this cap? The tension, needle position, length, and width of the stitch. Thank you!
Thank you for your comment, I have an upcoming video on this.
Do you still need to measure the head to use this cap?
Absolutely, you need to
Do you have to cut the cap under the closure, it fits so much better before cutting the cap? Just wondering.
