I love the pokemon franchise (FR/LG are personal favorites), and have just recently discovered nuzlocking & have really enjoyed discovering new content creators that revive the games I've loved my whole life. Btw i love the display you have showing your team, the level cap, badges, deaths, And attempt number. It is very reminiscent of my favorite nuzlocker FlygonHG, very good comparison. I have just stumbled upon your channel when I was searching for another Pokemon Renegade Platinum Nuzlocke, and your is so good. The narration is on point and not everything is calculated, the Digimon names are my personal favourite, I have always loved Pokemon and Digimon😊❤
I tried and in the longest game i wiped to Crasher Wake but it was a different Renegade Platinum rom, harder. Roark team was sudowoodo, lileep, aerodactyl, cranidos, anorith and lunatone. The teams were harder but i cant find anyone playing this rom in TH-cam.
Great video, really enjoyed as always! Just wanted to point out that Octmon's Thunderbolt always did less than half to Ludicolo. Stealth Rock chip just made it look like it would do enough....

@PsyduckSpice Well, let's just say I'm not as good as you are. 😆 I got to Fantina with only one death and a misplay made me get swept and wiped. So now I'm trying again. And that wasn't even my first attempt. But I am doing very good for a hardcore nuzlocke on a rom hack. And it's people like you and FlygonHG that inspire me.
You know there is many more encountters unlocked after Fantina. It spans from the route after her Gym all the way to the RT 212 Mansion and the exit of that route leads back to Fantina's Gym
This was done awhile ago, but I dont think I missed any encounters. If I didnt show them in the video its more than likely I just didnt get anything good so I didnt show myself getting them.

That first dawn fight with the lopunny cost me my entire run. She killed my quilava with high jump kick, and although i beat her, she took down my only fire type, so i got swept by aaron
I'm casually playing Renegade Platinum for the first time, and I realized 2 things: 1. Playing it on a modded New 2DS XL feels much more natural than it would on my phone or laptop. 2. I'm so glad I'm not nuzlocking this game, otherwise I'd pull my hair out just from the new fight before Hearthome alone.
Congrats! I do wonder why you didn’t use Moonblast on Cynthia’s Milotic though? Fairy is neutral to Fairy so you wouldn’t need to make that sacrifice at the end.
Thanks! Funny thing about that, if you look at the pp that shows up for like a second, I was going for moonblast up intill that last attack before switching. Why I went for surf there? unsure. I probably could have kept going for moonblast and not swicthed at all, but it wasnt doing a lot combined with the fact it was holding leftovers. For the sake of trying to win faster, I decided it was worth risking Chapmon even if it wasnt really needed!
You know Im really confused at that myself looking back on it. Sometimes I use PKHex to relearn moves instead of running all the way back to the move relearner. However, most of the time I triple check that the move is legal first. I must have messed up, my bad. Least it was only in that last gym fight, and I could have done the exact same thing with swords dance so I dont think it was very impactful, luckily.

I think the main reason you did so many mistakes there, is because you extremely underestimated some of the trainers in this Rom hack. Not just important battles, but normal trainers as well. The early game is very easy, but it becomes really difficult in the mid game. Because unlike trainers in normal Pokemon, most of them have good AI, great (often unexpected) moves and have useful natures as well as perfect IVs and EVs. They also often have good held items. Expect every mon with a 4x weakness to a strong common type to have a Focus Sash. This might be the main reason you overestimated how much your own attacks will do to an enemy, and underestimated how much their attacks will hurt. But thats completely normal. When I first did my normal playthrough of this Rom hack and also Blazing Black 2, i was mentally prepared for the game to be more difficult, but I still was often caught off guard by some of the moves the enemies had as well as how much damage they did/tanked.
I haven't done the cal but at +6 defense probably not, and if it had wasn't end of the world as I don't think Geodude was used much after that first gym
Oh you caught me being lazy 🤣I didnt save after beating the 8th gym and getting to victory road, and then I accidentally reset my game. To speed up getting through the gym again I put on a walk through walls cheat. I still had it active when I was in VR and couldnt be asked to walk backwards at 27:41 so I used it to jump down off the bridge. I still went the correct way through VR though, I wasnt skipping trainers!
If the level cap was 72 how was magnezone already 75 in the first elite four fight? Did it get it in the fight? And once it was 75 did you just candy the others up post fight?

Ahh unlucky, yeah that is the one problem with using Geodude. There's a couple other options that are good for that first gym though!

Yeah its a couple like bulldoze, hurricane, ect and then all the fairy moves.
