"12 inches long", "just the tip"... Taku knew exactly what he was doing with his commentary lol
Lol that's not only 13 inches
"fill the hole"
FILL THE HOLES
“Two fingers should fit in”.
remaerD that’s what she said
Damn these clams are packing HEAT
Randy Marsh TEGRITY!!!
When it comes out... "Ohh.... Fuck yeah...."
It brings a whole new level to the fish stick joke
She's a very lucky Lady. She'll never go starving.
No one of their socioeconomic status goes starving in America...
I like how when Taku yelled the seagulls to be quiet he acted like they were people 😂😂
@ Not sure how that's an Asian thing. Sounds sensible to me rather than being hot headed.
Silver Chopsticks How is putting your head down an Asian thing?
you not talk to the birds in your area or even just your own pets? Specially the ravens, they aint stupid.
@@ostenkara4795 Head down = respect, same with bowing down when greeting
"torn his siphon just a little bit"
straight mutilated that thing
He did it on purpose jelalous of it's length and girth
😂😱
@@harryhogfart7717 on the limp
Circumcised it just a bit
Tis but a flesh wound
i was sitting here thinking about the name horseneck like “horse’s necks aren’t that long tho,” and then i was like “ohhh the other horseneck”
“I can stick two fingers in there perfectly!”
*wet suction noise*
"Just the tip" hahaha I was going to resist, but once he said that I lost it
Fill. Your. Holes. 💀💀💀😎
Yep, them fingers fit in thar perfect, lol~!
THATS WHAT SHE SAID... THATS WHAT SHE SAID THATS WHAT SHE SAID THATS WHAT SHE SAID!!!!!!
A lesson I learnt long ago: having a chef who is your S/O has got to be the greatest gift any person can have.
Ahh yes “fill your holes” is my favorite line lol
LOL.. yes
If definately fill your hole.... With a sack full of love juice... 💯

lalaloser34 “You should be able to fit 2 fingers in it perfectly.”
The finished product looked fanstico. Thanks for sharing your video.
Back in the 70's I would always go clamming with my grandpa at Clam Beach above Eureka CA. I miss that old man...
This channels deserves more credit. Most wholesome couple on TH-cam
I’m just a college student in an urban city and don’t have much experience with the great outdoors or have much in common with you two but yet I’m so interested and captivated by all your videos ! I’ve learned so much since you’ve been posting and just want to say that you’re great at explaining everything and are so entertaining to people from all walks of life !!!
That's nice, thank you!
Nice..I like your recommendation on harvesting responsibly - filling in the holes is really important.
"Your lucky I can't run in mud" lmao, you guys are such a good pair.
Edit: I have received a like from "Outdoor Chef Life" this takes away some of the suck of having the flu. ♥️🤙
That was my favorite part!
@@OutdoorChefLife If you don't mind me asking, where is the best place to go clamming in California? I live in the central valley so I'm not terribly far from the northern coast.
Jordan Slate I have been to bodega and other small beaches. Bodega has some small horse necks andWashingtons. One place I love to go is lawsons Landing off of Tomales bay. They have some giant gaper clams you can dig up at low tide. It’s a $10 day parking next to the camp sites.

Very special Chef, I grew up eating fresh clams in NY. They remain a special treat.
I have learned that the word "Delicacy" is usually code for: "This is gross and we are going to eat it"
Vulcan Studios - Case and point: Durian fruit, Swedish fermented canned fish, 4 month dirt fermented fish... the list goes on.
Yeah I was wondering why they called this a delicacy. I thought it would look more delicious 😂 but I’ve never tried it so who knows
It’s shaped like a penis
Keep up that narrow minded thinking, more of the finest foods for the rest of us.
@Liberty Justice You're all fools if you think clams are horrible food. Clams are great in so many forms, boiled with garlic butter, clam chowder, deep fried clams, linguine in clam sauce, stuffed clams, seriously try some if before you knock it. Unless you're just someone with a total aversion to seafood in general, my girlfriends that way and I understand.
Thank you guys. It looks delicious and thanks for filling up the holes behind you!
Riddled with innuendos and as a teacher I should be embarrassed about how much I laughed at it. Another great video filled with facts and safety!
Those were some humongous Clams ! It looked delicious after you cleaned and cooked them up and served them up with you homemade Kelp pickles Yum ! Thanks Taku and Jocelyn ! Peace !
I love foraging for horseneck clams! You definitely get messy, but that's the fun part. My family and I usually go to Dillon Beach, CA.
The double entendre throughout made this extra pleasurable.
Looks like a nice day of clamming
I’ve had horse neck clams they are amazing fresh with lime made Ceviche style and also the very nice made almost like calamari battered with marinara sauce and lemon
Love your vids. Thank you for including things like licensing and sustainability info!
I don't know if that was planned, but when you introduced Jocelyn and it cut away to her perfectly on the edge of the screen I died laughing! Great video, I can't wait to go out and forage one of these days. Thank you for all of the knowledge :)
Hey Taku thanks for the information on how to clean clams very informative and nice voice over. Love the way you cooked it too Italian style! Keep it up brother
I think you have a keeper. She spends all day digging in the mud, hiking/fishing/camping and thoroughly enjoys eating your food and sipping cold beer. Did I mention she is easy on the 👀.

Your channel is my favorite discovery of last year! Keep up the good work man :) Really enjoy your videos.
JOCELYN AND TAKU MUCH LOVE !!! GREAT VIDEO !
It’s good to see someone who genuinely cares about wildlife and respect for their harvest
"And we want our -uh... um... 'things' to be as clean as possible at all times."
I used to work on a dive boat that harvested wild geoducks in Washington State. I loved them! Such good tasty meat. Raw with wasabi and shoyu, or gochujang sauce. Add a bowl of rice and it's dinner!
Thanks for inspiring us smaller outdoor and cooking channels to keep on going! I just hit 1000 subs today! We are going to crush 2020!
You just hit a 1000 subs and your going to "Crush" 2020... You need to Crush your Ego and calm TF down LOLL
Dons Adventures hahaha that’s prob true! 🤣
Dons Adventures just subbed to you! Thanks for the proper congrats lol
Texas Jungle I just subbed back Congratulations bud loll
Dons Adventures thanks! Lol I’ll be checking out your channel I have much to learn for sure
A good way to dig these is to cut off the bottom of a bucket and stick it in the sand so the sand on the sides don’t collapse
"One of a kind phallic shaped delicacy."
Forgive me, too many adult jokes can be made here. ☺️
"just the tip"
That's racist!
Wow dude u have such a mature humor. I bet no one knows what ur talking about pls explain complicated mature humor lord
Wow dude u have such a mature humor. I bet no one knows what ur talking about pls explain complicated mature humor lord
The irony of calling it "adult jokes" 😂
Awesome, bro. Thanks for doing cool stuff and sharing it.
Yup, that's a law here in WA state to fill up the holes. Otherwise, BIG fines if the officers catch you. Anyways - great vid, Taku & Joselyn!
Dear Outdoor Chef Life, I love you and your awesome lifestyle. This channel is setting the bar for how I wish my life was. I could try to live like this, but I would be dealing with freshwater fishing and inland hunting in a northern environment. Maybe someday I will start trying to live like you, only way up north. Thank you for your content you cute couple!
Whos waiting for " hey guys im here with my FIANCÉ Jocelyn" 🚀🤪😂
Shes got a bigger siphon then Taku
hol up
Man my mouth started watering when that bread went in the butter and clam juice . I'm heading to the water to dig some dam clams now !
The technique on those hands, Taku, that's one lucky beach. 😂
Good old foraging and cook videos are the best
Poor clam just sticking his 12" out enjoying life and some dude finger fks him and then wacks of his clamnlyness cuts of the tip chops it up and eats it on toast .....Arghhh.
capowacko whee what number
HAHAHAHAHHA
Taku, love your concept, I love foraging from coastline and sea, and eat sustainable from the our Coastal waters, in BC. 1.Would like you to do episodes here in BC. 2. Talk more about safe and limit harvest. 3. What condiments do you travel with that blends with your cuisine, on my boat space is an issues, so again what would be the main condiments to compliment your cooking. 4. Can you broaden your culinary repertoire to include vegetation with your seafood.
I just had to read some comments to make sure I wasn’t the only one who about fell out of my chair with all the hidden jokes 😂😂😂
I used to live on the East Coast but moved inland a few years back. There is nothing like the Salt Life!
**Me waiting to see a joke about him fingering the hole then it queefing**
Edit: **Me waiting to see a "Oh mY gAwD I dIdnT eXpEcT sO mAnY lIkEs!?!?"**
Elias Williams hahaha😐
Thats what she said.
LOLOLOL I chuckled on that part.
Lmaoo on queue
Elias Williams where.?
Wow looks so good. I used to dig horse necks back in the day. Miss Washington coast
Just going to say, Dude. If she fishes with you quit her job to help you with this awesome channel. PUT A RING ON IT LOL!!!! In all seriousness go at a pace your comfortable with.
Taku oh man the Jokes all the Jokes we have had during this video!!!!!!! Love watching your videos please keep them coming.
Damn i really wanna try these ! Everyone makes them look delicious !! Have to search our seafood markets here in Australia. That clam juice, clam toast looked BOMB BAY !!!
Funny but lovely too, watching you two eat the final product...I remember in my mid teens finding kelp pieces like you did, when you made those kelp pickles....I had such an internal fight...to not just bite into that piece of kelp. I think at times.... had I lived close to the beach...I WOULD HAVE FOR SURE TRIED TO COOK, OR PRESERVE THOSE KELP PARTS FOUND ON THE BEACH!!! Part of why I think I enjoy all of the recipes you share. Seriously I wanted to bite those stupid kelp pieces on the beach!!!! They totally looked like pickled veggies to me 😂😂😂‼️So I continue to enjoy how you use the natural ingredients found in whatever area you are in. Wish we all could do the same...🥺‼️❤️❤️I really do love to watch you, and Joselyns adventures...and OK, old lady talking here...MARRY THAT GIRL....Seriously!!!!😳😳😳😂😂😂☺️☺️☺️👰🏻♀️👰🏻♀️👰🏻♀️!!!!
"Personally, I always make sure I fill the hole when clamming. EVERYTIME!!"
We use to get horse neck clams at Halfmoon Bay and use to cut a hole out of the bottle of a bucket and used a post hole digger. You dig a little and push the bucket down over the hole so the sand won’t cave in on you. We would limit out in an hour
3:24 "yeah you feel that right there" made me laugh more than it should've :')
I don't think that was part of the jokes..
another mouth watering video 🤤 how lucky Miss Jocelyn is 😍
"We're not required by law to fill your holes."
Omg taku ur editing with those clams in the wrong position near your body were hilarious with ur commentary. The food you made with clams looks delicious!
"one of a kind naturally phallic shaped delicacy" I almost spat out my meal 😂😂😂
"Sometimes a clam siphon is just a clam siphon" - Sigmund Somebody-or-other.
In my younger days I could go claming with my fingers all day! I too used the two finger move on the clams with the big holes. But you're right about your hand getting weak and needing your girl to put in a little work every now and then.
Seems like the most work out of everything you’ve caught.
You're AWESOME Taku 👌 👏 👍. Keep them coming.
so when's that Foraging Cookbook coming out?
What a great channel! We live on the coast as well. My guys a captain fisherman guide and tackle shop owner, plus a hunter. So I enjoy this content so so much!
#TAKUTUESDAY
You are giving me so much inspiration to go fishing and make a french style version of a channel like yours. Love your videos.
That what she says. “This one is big “
Whoever compose that outro, you’re awesome. Love your videos, Taku.
he almost called it a circumcised siphon and I don't blame him
Love your noisy audience. Very interesting info about clams.
“knife is life”
Jocelyn! 💪 Dayum, Girl!!! 👍
Taku, from watching other utube videos, I've seen people after seeing holes in the sand pour salt in their hole and they will push up their siphon to get rid of the salt. Then you will know one is in the hole you can then pour more salt in the hole and work him out. Works with razor clams, should work with horse neck and guie clams. Hope it works. Love your videos with Jocelyn and when your alone in your kayak.
“The clam hole is oval and I can fit two finger in there” 😉
YUMMM! I love clamming here in Homer.Alaska. Your videos are terrific -thank you.
"Okay, were gonna cut off just the tip."
Joz and Taku... Another GREAT catch, clean and cook. So good to know how to prep the siphon! Very educational and I can hardly wait to try it out. Thanks!
"gaper clams" "I can stick two fingers in there perfectly"
lol nice script.
I see flow and continuity. Big thumbs up !
4:24 hehehehe lots of sexual innuendo incoming XD
KNIFE IS LIFE!!! WISH I WAS OUT THERE MYSELF
“Oh yeah, I knew this was big... oh now I’m stuck.”
Knife is life! Good video, learned a lot
For me horse neck clams are just off brand geoducks
You guys are goals in life.
Just the tip eh
Your videos are so peacefull. So good to watch. You got me curious about the picles's taste
Hehe he said “gaper”
Sure made me hungry, well done! I was picturing them cooked in butter, garlic and parsley so I wasn't far off x
Oh dang! Love that nature response!!! Enjoying every episode you're throw at us!!!
your woman is lucky man she gets to enjoy fresh outdoor food
I just saw this video and really recently found your channel via NW Fishing Secrets. You inspired my husband and I to go clamming and we came home limited out at Tidelands State Park.
hahahahaha this one really pack with all the wholesomeness in it xD the bird part tho hahaha "you're lucky I can't run in mud" lmao XXD
Those little pool, you could always bring light rods and tiny hooks to catch sardines size fish
Woot lots of dirty work for these, I always wonder if these would be very muddy taste ? Like freshwater catfish
How about a zesty chipotle sauce
With those breads, you need to show us how to make clam chowder, and put it into the bread like those bread bowl 😋
Love it, very educational
Your vids are getting better and better. Have you ever tried anything that you didn’t like??
Yeah....Ghost shrimp
Last time I steamed these, I found them a little tough. This is a great video.. thanks for teaching us. Next time, I’ll prepare the siphon. They are HUGE! This is a dirty job, lol
You like them huge and dirty huh, go figure.
Really like this...!! Nice friends too.
Im sure you got more and newer stuff but this earns a sub its the best ccc on these clams i can find
Knife is life. Clamming is hard work.
I love coastal foraging videos so much :D
I've made a rule that whenever I get a notification for one of your videos, it means I need to buy something to eat before I watch! Too many times I'm left hungry after watching lol
