- My continuing quest for serotonin brings me back to one of my favorite bodies of water in the Denver area, where I encounter several long-lost fishy friends of various shapes and sizes...
This is my first attempt at shooting underwater footage, with mixed results...

Thanks for posting this, I used to fish this Reservior 30:yrs ago. Caught my first small mouth on a chartreuse spinner, throwing along the south side by the rocks. Great memories

Its an Abu Garcia Zenon 1000s reel paired with a Kuying Teton 6ft 2inch super ultralight rod. I got the reel on eBay and got the rod on Aliexpress. I absolutely love that combo!
i tried replicating this today, no luck. it was middle of the day. used slightly different trailer. and im using a $10 walmart rod lol (zebco slingshot). wondering where i went wrong. i cant cast very far, i think the line is too heavy maybe?
Sorry to hear that, Smith can be super tough in the middle of the day and the bite has been pretty slow overall recently, the best times rn are definitely early morning and 4pm - dusk. Those tiny baits can be difficult to cast without special equipment but lighter line will help significantly, I mostly use 2lb or 4lb
