A fantastic rendition of the New England coast. If you haven't already you may want to look up barrier islands as they make up a large part of the islands across the eastern coast of the US. I think I heard you mention Ocracoke Island once, this map is really starting to remind me of it.
Glad you like it, I'll have to look up those and take a look! While less "impressive" than mountains and big valleys, I am actually really liking this more flat beach-heavy environment - maybe because it reminds me of the coasts of Denmark :D
Currently in Maine where a snow storm has knocked out power everywhere. Just on my property we have 2 trees in power lines. I just got lte back and this is the first thing I watch lol
@@Infrastructurist it is absolutely beautiful. At the moment we have trees and power lines on every road and a few hundred thousand are still without power. But hopefully power will be back up in a few days
I was sitting here wondering what the infrastructurist was up to on CS2 since it updated and I was not disappointed - you have taken such a hard place/hard rock and moved it into a soft blanket. Thank you.
It's amazing to watch you plan and design your city build. You have given all of us so much inspiration and ideas on how to do what you do so well. I've learned so much about what looks good and what helps full our functioning city work better, by watching you build and design your own cities you have given us all a gift that is beyond being able to put a price upon. And because of that you have a very special place in my heart and in my humble opinion you sir are a true master in creating amazing cities with CS2 and CS1. So thank you so much for sharing your talent and skill with those of us who can't afford to pay for your time and insight much less yourself. ✊️🥺👍
Could you make an American-themed city that has good city planning (no "stroads", good pedestrian prioritization, good public transportation, etc.)? That would be awesome! I saw some other comments mention a Southern California city, so I think maybe combining the two ideas would be pretty cool! Thanks
Glad to hear that! I haven't really considered jumping into CS1 again, as I am still enjoying CS2 despite it's many shortcomings. In particular the long load times, terrible FPS and constant fighting with mod issues are part of CS1 I don't miss :D
@@Infrastructurist Well yes, long loading time and low FPS are really disadvantages of playing with mods in CS1. But sooner or later, the same fate will be waiting for CS2, heh
This is bloody gorgeous! Can't wait for next next video to see you develop the new areas around the beautiful marshes. Don't know how you'll be able to create a highway interchange from the main island though. But we're all here for the wonky interchanges, aren't we?
Really cool ! I think you should extend the work you have done in the last part of the video to most beaches facing the ocean in order to make the transition smoother.
Why don't you do highly detailed cs1 content again? You are soooo good at that. As a guy who still plays cs1 and cs2, i want to see both. Why don't you make a highly detailed cs1 city as like a side quest, I'm sure there's still demand for those. I love riverview but i would trade an entire day worth of my paycheck to see coniferia and crystal reef continues. But i can only hoping. Either way, always love your build. I think you deserve to be among the top guy in cs builders. Ps* don't tell anyone but i think you are way better than Overcharged egg and biffa.
@@Infrastructurist yes and in a valey with mountains on the side like Pasedena, west covina, san barnadino and Whittier. ( it would be cool if it is in the 80s or 90s) In citiez skylines 1 because of all the assets
I live in southeastern mass and in my city, we,re home to the largest fishing port in the country. For our “inlit” it is the Acushnet River Which creates the New Bedford harbor and across the south coast it’s like harbors and bays we call them here.
This and the new Mexico texture packs are just 🤌🤌 U should use the bridge form of the alley road as well, it fits in for the lesser important bridges between islands
Hey would you ever consider making a sort of realistic utopia? It sounds odd but let me explain haha. Basically, keep your process the way it is now, including all the lore (it’s what drew me into this series and made me sub tbh despite having little interest in CS2 otherwise) but make the city a paragon of public transport, services and walkability. The game, in true US-American fashion, seems to rely heavily on roads and car traffic - I think it’d be an interesting challenge to work through that and make something akin to a 15 minute city. Love the way you’re playing the game so far, I’m having lots of fun watching!
Hey, after this series ends do you think you could make a semi-urban city in a valley in Southern Oregon, specifically like the Medford-Central Point metro area? I live there and I think your way of building cities is quite interesting and enjoyable. Thanks!
It is kind of sad that they didn't put in plants like big patches of grass, aquatic vegetation or reeds, some decent tools for creating realistic smooth beaches with proper wave animations and so on. For a successor of a game that had such an inspiring community of asset creators they really didn't think this through and sadly threw an unfinished and unpolished product on the market. I would have bought it on release but seeing how this is about as shallow and empty as the vanilla original Skylines when it comes to realistic landscaping I won't bother with the game until the asset creator community has had the time to fix the game for the devs. Nice job creating what you did with the basic tools the game has to offer atm though.
Really enjoying cities but currently playing it on pc game pass.. and modding is so annoying is it worth just buying proper version ? How is modding compared to gamepass? Can Really see how much mods effect the game, your cities are stunning ❤

Is the map on PDX?
Fun fact - the island of Martha's Vineyard is where they filmed the movie Jaws. So perhaps one of the new islands should be called Amity.

Honestly, without the sand surface texture, I still think the beaches look good!
I just wish we could manipulate the slopes even more to make the natural surface beaches wider :-D
Yeah it looks so good that I bust a nut while I play this video game
Currently in Maine where a snow storm has knocked out power everywhere. Just on my property we have 2 trees in power lines. I just got lte back and this is the first thing I watch lol
Aw damn - sorry to hear that, stay safe!
When I check out parts of Maine on google maps and streetview, it looks absolutely beautiful.

I agree, the mountain looks out of place for what you are going for. I love your vids! 😄
Glad you love them!

Thank you so much for the very kind comment, I really appreciate it! 😍
I guess thinking about it a vineyard really is just a “wine yard.” 😅
This was truly a work of art. Each click of the mouse was like watching an artist paint with a brush. The beaches turned out great 😍
The perfect friday night, smoked a fat j, ordered food and a new infrastructurist video. this shit is the peak of my day
Amazing results! I love that turquoise water effect
Thank you! 😊😊
Hey dude! Been seeing your marina design everywhere! Loving this city, my favourite so far.

Agreed! I’d love to see that as well, something like a realistic attempt at a 15 minute city perhaps.
Honestly, the hard edge of the beach isn't even that weird! Having a perfect line of bushes/rocks might be weirder next to super dry sand haha
I so enjoy seeing your work in Cities: Skylines 2. Have you thought about continuing to shoot episodes in Coniferia?
Glad to hear that!

At first I was skeptical: why touch this beautiful map? But the end result is the most beautiful thing I've seen in CS2. Well done.
I think that last ?swamp? area you created was especially beautiful
You don't drop as many phat beats these days! It's all gone a bit chilled out lounge musicy... ;) Good work with CS2 though.
Haha, yeah it's been a little more chill recently!
Very good, you're fast turning into my favourite detailer, you have such great ideas. Would the forest texture help with the swamp area?
Awesome to hear that!
And yes, that is actually a great idea!!

Thank you Jessia! Yeah, I share the disappointment. I like the new assets but I wish we had easier ways of creating beaches :-)
Thank you for making a Massachusetts map. It is actually pretty realistic
What a reaaaally chill episode ! :3
Thanks !
@28.50 there is an island to the North of Southport that looks like a rubber duck. Please call this duck island or something similar!
I love this channel very much. That's all! Thanks ❤

New map gives me some Coniferia vibes
You can use the forestry area to make the ground in the swamps darker
A mod that could put boats in the water on the coast, like a marina would be so cool!

3:50 Martha's vineyard.
Pronounced (Vin-yard)
hey just wanted to ask if your PC also heats up to 100 degrees when playing the game. Mine has been on 102 degrees for the last 2 hours I played
Will you upload the map to mods? Not save exacly just clear edited map :)
holy moly mand jeg vidste ikke at du var dansker men det kunne faktisk være mega fedt med en jysk by måske inspireret af aalborg. mega fed video
Chowder bay seems to be very similar to Aarhus in Denmark
Will you make your save game available on this map?
Best CS2 TH-camr 👍👍
how do you get mods to work ? i cant get the IDE installed in the mod toolchain for the life of me
What mod do you use to paint concrete on the map?

Speaking of martha's vineyard I bet you could do an amazing recreation of Edgartown using your CS1 skills and assets.
If you used any mods pls tell me

Дякую за відео 👍 успіхів тобі і каналу 💛💙
I think your other map color was more on point. Massachusetts literally translates to blue hills or rather to the tribe that inhabited the blue hills.
There are some cliffs in Martha's Vineyard look at photos of a place called "Gay Head" on the SW tip of the island
Not first huhuh !
I'll watch it tomorrow morning !
where do i download the map?

Hoooooooooooooooooooo Yeah
Can you make mountain Manson
I can make some hillside mansions! And beach mansions!
Du er virkelig god til at lave havne. Hvordan??
17:28 “England is in the way”. Aren’t they always? 😂
DRAIN THE SWAMP, DRAIN THE SWAMP XD
I'm not sure I like these effects like in @37:44 but other than that - quite impressive 👍
