- So excited to finally got a pair of Birkenstock Boston! Especially this pair was made with Horween leather. It was the first time I saw such thick leather on shoes. The cork footbed is more comfortable than I thought because of the suede lining. The feeling on feet has been amazing! Now that I figured out my size with Birkenstock, I will absolutely get more soon! Those look really nice. I ordered the arizonas with the embossed horween leather. And I used their sizing guide on the website after measuring my foot. Hopefully they fit.
I kind of want to get that one too! I think with UK/European companies, once you figure out your EU size, everything is pretty standard from there😅
I guess you were calling me, so I decided to share this with you. My London has been close to 30 years old. It is still in good share, but I do need to replace the sole again. I have been wearing it on different occasions, including hiking. The sole was replaced twice or thrice.
BTW, thank you for sharing lots of leather products. I also have PLG’s Rolltop Sedona and love it very much.

I have lived in different midsize cities, so it was not difficult for me to find the authorized retailer to get the sole replaced. However, the repair price seems to be high these days. I also have a Milano pair by Papillio, which is part of the Birkenstock family and made in Germany. This pair has been with me for 24 years. I am still wearing it to grocery stores or in the neighborhood. It is not in very good shape though. I wore it into the creek and beaches many times, so part of the leather has detached from the footbed, and the cork is somehow damaged too.
I am debating with myself if I should replace the footbed and sole for Milano. While it probably makes more sense if I purchase a new pair, I really do not want to dump it, particularly the leather and color look just like my PLG’s Sedona rolltop. I am going to have a trip to Asia, and Birkenstock direct stores over there ask only half of the price that is charged here, likely due to the lower labor cost. As such, I am bringing the two with me for the trip to have them restored.
Cool! I didn't know you can find an authorized retailer to resole your Birkenstock! Hopefully they will continue to provide the service! It is a good idea to get it done in Asia since most things are cheaper. I wonder how long it takes for them to do that. Hopefully your trip is long enough to accommodate the repair!
Glad you finally tried them. I have been wearing Birkenstock over 30 years. It's the only thing I wear besides sneakers. I must have a dozen pairs. The soft bed is my favorite. I have been trying to get another pair of Bostons but everything is always sold out in my size. I have never had problems before! A lot of their shoes are unisex. One thing to remember is that sometimes different styles can fit a little differently. I think it's because some styles seem to only come in narrow width and some are regular or narrow. I have a lot of big buckle and suede soft bed. Suede soft bed is the most comfortable. You forget you even have shoes on. I just watched an interview yesterday with the CEO in Germany. Very interesting. Now I love them even more.
I will have to go find the interview! I love the suede lining, it’s so comfortable, hard to describe, kind of velvety and luxurious 🤣 I definitely want to get another pair! The next pair on my list is the Boston Bold, and maybe some interesting color suede ones 😆
I did notice the sizing is not very consistent, for open toes sandals I may have to size down 😅

@@cheesim I usually size one down from my regular size in other shoes, but yes, sometimes it depends on the style.
And I have a pair of Birkenstocks that match each PLG bag I have. They both make similar colors.
They look great! I have 2 pairs of sandals and would like a pair of the clogs for fall.
This is my first pair and I love them! My feet do get a little warm sometimes, so I probably will wear it more when fall is here 😆
Hi. The toes cannot jam up against the front or else you will get very sore feet in no time. I tried size 43 when I am size 11, and they were too small. The 44 are fairly wide fitting and length possibly too much, but it is preferable to being too small. I bought the 2 strap Horween leather. I prefer the original hard feel to anything soft feel for sandals. They break in better and are very comfy. They break in fast.
Thanks for the tips! My toes feel quite comfortable so far. I didn't realize there was an original insole that was harder. Are those still available? I was thinking about picking up the two-strap sandals too 😆
@@cheesim I just avoid the soft feel foot bed. The rest are the original hard feel for the feet. The softer feel insole footbed is always hotter and too soft for my preference. The 2 strap Arizona are possibly the best sandal of all time. I bought Horween Arizona 2 strap.

Nice color and sandal. Birkenstock is a good brand. It looks like you need to size up from the looks of it. Your back heel is way too close to the back end of the sandal. Great review. Hope you get the size all situated. TFS

I have some Birkenstock too I haven’t worn them in years. They are comfortable but after a while I need height they are flat or really low. It’s a great shoe love the slip in feature. I’d be curious as to what you think about them. Tfs
So far I have only worn them around the house 🤣 I love them so far, the suede lining feels great and my feet feel really comfortable with the wider toe box😊
I love height too, I have bought so many chunky shoes I thought I should diversify my options 🤣

It seems like size 41 fits you well, doesn't it? I wear same shoes size as you and I'm not sure if I should go for 41 or 40.
I would say definitely 41 for Boston; it has a deeper heel cup, so you need a little extra space. For other open toes sandals, I will have to try them before I can tell you. Somehow when I tried size 40 in store, it felt like it could work.

These are men's shoes, so yes, you can definitely find men sizes

I am around 8.5 and I bought size 41. I would recommend you to try it in store before buying because their sizing can be quite different. I almost want to recommend size 40, but really, try them before you purchase so that you don't have to deal with potential exchange or return. 😊

Sizing is confusing. Women sizing is “narrow” and men’s size is “regular” (D). If you’re a man with narrow feet women sizing is the way to go!
