I think that Lilac Vegetal smells quite a bit similar to a typical urinal cake. Seeing as Lilac Vegetal is such an old scent, I kind of wonder if the urinal cake manufacturer(s) either purchased Lilac Vegetal fragrance oil to use in their product or were inspired by Lilac Vegetal when they came up with the fragrance to use in the urinal cakes. I think many people are of the opinion that Lilac Vegetal smells like "urine" because they associate the urine odor with the urinal cake smell, since they're found together--I don't think it actually smells like urine, directly.
I can't help but wonder how I'd feel about the scent if I had never smelled a urinal cake and therefore made that association with a restroom.
I do find, though, that Lilac Vegetal smells decent (though still not great) when diluted with witch hazel, or when put in a glass bottle, applied sparingly, and spread out well over the skin.

I'd love to hear your take on Fine Accoutrements. Their aftershaves are what got me into fragrances, because they've knocked off the likes of Aventus, Grey Vetiver, TdH, and Rive Gauche. Some of the best clones you can get your nose on. I almost prefer their iteration of Grey Vetiver to Tom Ford's.

L'occitane eau de baux, u already know the scent but mate! No matter how bad ur shave was this would calm ur skin down. Superb one!

Dave, I have many phoenixartisanaccoutrements.com products and they are quite excellent. If you get a chance to try his Dapper Docs aftershave, it is over the top fantastic..... Lilac and fig are the prominent notes. Thanks for the video.
BTW.... You should consider crossing over to traditional shaving with a DE razor. You'll never look back

Any chance you could do a follow up on PAA now that he has released edp's? One of the main thing's I'm interested in his stuff is the deodorant and skin care matching cologne. Like Cavendish deodorant would go good with pure Havan and Sangre de Drago the two weeks I have used it has had the pleasant unexpected side effect of clearing up my adult lifelong problem of minor acne for whatever reason. Anyway I have been sampling the rest of what he has so I will get there eventually but any info would be apreciated.

I can't get into aftershaves. I don't like them clashing with my fragrance.

My favorite aftershaves are from Fine Aftershaves. They have great scents, and contain only alcohol, water fragrance and menthol.
