Thanks Patrick. I’ll give that a go. Can you advise on the approx size of the paper please? Also the far tree or hedge line seems quite dark - I thought the further things were away from the viewer the lighter they became - does it work for recession because the foreground tree on the right is very dark, but what if that tree had plenty of light on it and the leaves were a brighter green ? Thank you
Its 18x26cm. The distant tree line could be a bit lighter and might increase the depth. Sometimes I make design choices that contradict reality as along as it works and makes for a good picture. Often I copy a photo and wonder why it’s not a good painting. The dark tree is just a device to stop our gaze to leave the painting
@@PatrickVisserArt thanks for that Patrick I’ve often wondered the best way to depict distant darks in a landscape to maintain contrast within aerial perspective (if that makes sense?)
So much fun to paint this! I love the simplicity yet technicality of it. Thank you.
Glad you like it!
I'll literally try to copy this, let's go
An excellent exercise
Nice Picture

Fun. Was there a reference for that?
@@williamnelson5995 not specifically. it's a generic landscape painted from imagination, combining elements from other paintings I've done
