If there is a British comic obsessed with crosswords my first guess would be Victoria Coren-Mitchell, David’s wife.

So nice that you get and appreciate all the different aspects of the UK humour. While there's lots of great American humour, I find it so refreshing that you can see the brilliance of Bob Mortimer and love the kinda eccentric angles they all take, and bounce off each another. In NZ, we have such a small handful of really cleaver comedians, while the UK is brimming with them. BTW. The QI elves taught us there's no such thing as a fish, so a shark isn't one. You might want to check it out.

Sure, most WILTY is funny as heck, but for constant craziness check out all of Bob Mortimer's stories. He makes every story sound like the ramblings of a madman, true or false. He's a deadly opponent in this game.
And James Acaster is always hilarious and so good at telling a story.

There's no universal scientific definition of "fish" so it is perfectly acceptable scientifically to see sharks as a thing in themselves!

I’m not typing out that entire rant. A comedic genius and very much missed.

In the early seasons, lee and David use to have some stories that were true but you eventually run out of stories to tell so you can just assume that anything they say now is a lie 😂

Just a minor point, but the use of the off hand is more a baseball/softball thing. because you throw with the main hand. In England he's more likely to have played cricket, where you catch with either hand, but would have a preference for the dominant.

Ah, I see. I was definitely thinking about baseball/softball

Fruit techniques learned over 50 years:
1 - I break bananas in the middle if they aren't too ripe. Pealing is then just splitting one side open and pulling out half a banana at the time.
2 - Apples are split with the Bob Mortimer maneuver (sometimes with a knife), stem is easily pulled off to the side so it will never snap. Stem and butt end are bitten off to expose most pits. Exposed pits are removed before biting out the half core. At the end; only yummy juicy apple bits for last.
3 - Pears: Pull out stem. Start eating from the butt end. Once the tiny core is gone, take a big bite off the stem end and the best bits are left to last.
4 - Pineapple: Peal with a knife once top and bottom is cut off. Quarter it and cut out the center, making sure you keep track of what sides are up and down on the quarters. Cut off a thin slice from each end of one to test where the sweet end is. Then eat it as you wish. (I always take one slice from each ending up with the sweetest in the end.)
5 - Coconut: "Chop" it repeatedly on the "equator" with the back of a heavy knife as you spin it around over a bowl to catch the water. A crack will develop around it (sometimes with the flesh intact). If it cracks all the way without breaking the flesh it can be pulled apart with the water still inside for cleaner extraction. Usually I end up with two halves with flesh and a bowl of water with some bits in. Cut through the flesh against the shell with small sharp knife for easy extraction.
All citrus need different techniques that all include cutting and pulling of some sort. Too complex to describe here, but easily done.
Don't get me started on grapes. I'd have to draw you a diagram on how to eat a whole (or part of a) cluster for maximum pleasure.

So in depth!! I love it. I probably won't try eating too many cores, but I might try the pineapple thing

In a way you're right. Sharks aren't fish. We are more closely related to regular fish than sharks are. The only reason sharks are considered fish is because they kinda look like fish.
