Way too much craftsmanship? Not really... using a belt grinder for basic shaping is a thoughtless waste of steel ...or more like heresy. (edit: but I have to admit, the finished knife is lovely and just about every other step of the making is very well executed. Especially that carving on the pommel, wow...)
In my opinion this is one of THE BEST channels on TH-cam, if not the best! Maybe their products are a bit expensive for a regular guy, but what they do is not just commercial, it is ART! Supported, of course by a lot of work! Congratulations and thank you for give me the chance to see all of this!
To say that this knife is gorgeous is a very mild understatement. To craft such an implement with so much love, passion, dedication & conviction; it's more akin to a spiritual devotion to bygone days where work ethics, professionalism meant something far more profound than today's throw away age. Such intricate work is rarely seen much less owned & appreciated then passed on to the next generation. How remarkable to see that some individuals have managed to rekindle that philosophy of bygone days. Keep up the good work. Kind regards.
Ive come to expect nothing less than this from the Northmen ,simply stunning handmade products that we all wish we could make and an excellent video as usual!! long live the Guild
The people you find for these videos are lunatics. The attention to detail and level of craftsmanship is astonishing. Thank you for producing this so us mere mortals can watch the process.
To my mind and way of life I strive for, after family and being as close to the natural world as possible, Craftsmanship at this level makes life worth living. To see and be part of these things makes living for the next day's experiences worth working and fighting for. Life is good and full of wondrous things... Thank you for further enriching the world with your efforts!
People need to watch this and maybe then they won't complain about how much they cost. Each piece is built by true craftsman and are a work of art. If I could afford one I would buy one but for now I can only appreciate them from afar. Keep up the good work.
@Sansenforhansen Considering how little time and effort is put into production knives that can cost several hundreds of dollars, working works of art such as this are well worth the cost, in my humble opinion. A Bussie blade can easily cost 1/4 the price of this knife, yet at best, take 1/32 the time and effort to make.
it is all of a sudden extremely difficult for me. I feel a massive love for all crafts like this, woodwork, blacksmithing and leatherwork. and along with that I love movies and the way they are ade. This, this made some long lost feeling of being reborn long ago arise in me and actually, I feel quite emotional. A lovely knife, a lovely sheath, and a lovely video. Well done to you all
More videos like the 2 you've made please. Extremely satisfying seeing all the care, detail, sweat, and hard work that goes into making these beautiful weapons.
The amount of work that goes into a piece like this - the amount of craftsmen, and tools, and skill. If I knew the same amount of love had been poured into a knife I was buying (and I actually had the money), I'd gladly pay real money for it. I've fallen in love with this channel.
The quality of the knife and sheath clearly demonstrates the care and skill that has gone into making them. A quality that is being lost by big business today. Thank you to the craftsmen who demonstrated their skills.
The attention to detail and perfectionist aptitude was outstanding. Make me glad to be still practicing my furniture trade. Time for people to start buying hand crafted, high quality man made products again instead of cheap crap that's designed to break and be replaced.
Grant Lister you might as well self-promote then! 😉 What company do you work for? Is there a Facebook page? Where in the country are you located so people can find hand-crafted furniture?
Trollskyy your knives are what inspires me, and they are works of art, but works of art you can take into the bush and use for hunting or even survival. This knife is too pretty for daily use, this is what you pass on to a son, then he goes and chops a forest.
I've been blacksmithing since late this spring and thinking that making a knife was (relatively) simple. Watching all these master craftsmen doing their thing has inspired me to do better at mine.
Truly captivating to watch such great master craftsmen make a very beautiful work of art from wood & steel. I 'am just a novice hobby knife maker for the past five years & still learning . I could watch these guys all day true masters of their craft and I liked the story of the 2 wolves and the music.
Phenomenal work gents! The craftsmanship is simply amazing. I'm certain that the owner of that masterpiece would be likely to agree. Thanks for sharing!
What a beautiful piece of working art. IF I could afford it, I'd never have the nerve to use it. I'd just hold it on my lap a lot while I drink coffee and read.
This is the most beautiful knife I've ever seen in my life (even though it's only been 15 years) and absolutely worth the money from the looks of it. I've taken a look at the website and it looks to be 100% worthy of the $2200. I'd love to have one of these if I ever get the money. Once again, one of the most beautiful knives in the world, probably nr. 1. Truly a work of art.
Absolutely amazing. Great to see that people still have skills and knowledge of unique craftmanship. You guys are alike like me and i appreciate hand made products that can last a lifetime if you care and respect them. Many thanks from New Zealand down in the south Pacific
Way too much craftsmanship here ! :) and then you wonder why good things come to a price, this is ART
Some things are worth the premium. Modern cars and the filth society produces in large; no.
Pure craftmanship and passion however..
A-G yeah it's almost to Purdy ta use
Way too much craftsmanship? Not really... using a belt grinder for basic shaping is a thoughtless waste of steel ...or more like heresy.

Kryštof Pazdera b
I would feel bad to unsheat this knive....
Quite possibly the most beautiful knife I’ve ever seen
Check out @kyleroyerknives
FOR $2200 IT FUCKING BETTER BE!
bro...
Agreed
Idk what is better, the soundtrack to this video or the Damascus pattern
In my opinion this is one of THE BEST channels on TH-cam, if not the best! Maybe their products are a bit expensive for a regular guy, but what they do is not just commercial, it is ART! Supported, of course by a lot of work!

This really made my day! I felt like hair was growing on my chest. Thank you for sharing this unique view upon a well respected craft.
George Boaru Yes great stuf
I have no proper adjective to appreciate craftmanship, skill, patience and quality of their work.
Blown away by the level of craftmanship before the 8 minute mark, then the carving on the pommel begins....speechless!
Ive come to expect nothing less than this from the Northmen ,simply stunning handmade products that we all wish we could make and an excellent video as usual!! long live the Guild
Absolutely stunning craftsmanship and a joy to watch, thank you.
No words. The most beautiful craftmanship ever. Epic, no other words comes in mind.
I watch and re-watch all of your content. You are all truly gifted craftsmen.

Work of art, and I love the music!

Always enjoy the Northmen Guild's videos
all this beautiful craftsmanship almost brought a tear of joy to my eye
Your movies and your craftsmanship make me long for your lifestyle. I am in awe of you all.
Very nice to see men like you and few others making and using tools....thank you.
The description, the old Cherokee story of the wolfs, hit me like truck! So simple and oh so true!
If every stage is so perfect, it will be a masterpiece. This is ART.
And that is why the knife costs $1950
Michael Tilly Imagine how long it took the man to carve the hilt, that had to be a crazy amount of time so I see your point.
I would love to sell my car and buy 5 of their knives...but you know, gotta be sponsible and stuff.

2400$
Honestly that price makes sense to me
Jon Snow would approve that knife, what a beauty!
This is therapeutic to watch. I could happily give you gentlemen my money for true craftsmanship and love of what you do.
Two words to describe that awesome result: Northmen Code.
Respect to all of you guys, from Argentina.
Perhaps its just me, but I get emotional watching such astonishing craftsmanship. Amazing work! :)
it is all of a sudden extremely difficult for me. I feel a massive love for all crafts like this, woodwork, blacksmithing and leatherwork. and along with that I love movies and the way they are ade.

Beautiful work. Really brought a smile to my face. That wolf is incredible.

Господи помилуй , это шедевр !
The Elegance.... of the weapon, the process and how it's all captured

Tohle je už tak něco nádherného že mi docházejí slova..... KRÁSA😉😍
The industrial revolution killed human creativity.
This is true skills, art, passion and work
A masterpiece, from the beggining to the end.
The quality of the knife and sheath clearly demonstrates the care and skill that has gone into making them. A quality that is being lost by big business today. Thank you to the craftsmen who demonstrated their skills.
The craftsmanship on this was unreal. I wish I had the money to buy one as a gift for one of my best friends.
Absolutely amazing blade! I have to say that is some of the most professional craftsmanship I've seen yet.
Beautiful videography, beautiful music, beautiful blade, beautiful rifle... How did I not know about this channel?
The attention to detail and perfectionist aptitude was outstanding. Make me glad to be still practicing my furniture trade. Time for people to start buying hand crafted, high quality man made products again instead of cheap crap that's designed to break and be replaced.
