I used Sub Zero as my main as a kid MK1-3 but eventually my friends banned me from using him haha to “even” the play field. They deff saw too much of that epic fatality!
This is a great video idea. Sub-Zero in MK1 is iconic to me. Edit: DUDE! You saw subs fatality within 5 min of seeing the game?! Wow, it blew me away too. I typed mine before I got to the end of the video
As a kid I loved the fatalities where the screen goes black and it's left to your imagination. It's why I love the "Legion" fatality and Sub's Fade to black fatality, which I believe was just a censored spine rip.
Really impressive how you went through each game, and did a FULL fight just to showcase the fatality in one take. That's big props, you won't really see anyone else doing that
His arms were torn off by Goro, as eventually shown in MK9. Although in the OG MK2 (MK1-Armageddon pre MK9 Time Travel) timeline, they were never torn off. His arms were enhancements. They were surgically removed right before the outworld invasion. It was experimental tech.
This may not be the classic arcade games but my favorite fatality of all time is where Kung Lao throws his hat on the floor and spins like a saw blade and he grabs the opponent’s legs, pulling them towards the spinning hat to be sliced in half. Now if we’re talking MK1-UMK3 then it would be Liu Kang’s Arcade machine drop where he summons an arcade machine in the air and it crushes the opponent. It’s so random and stupid that it never fails to make me laugh
Wow, you’re being very productive the last couple of days, @BushyStallion😀 and what a trip down the memory lane it was! I share your dissapointment in Liu Kangs bicycle-fatality, but my oh my did he get his redemption with the dragon..! I also admire Sub Zero’s fatality, but I also had a thing for Raidens fatalities, both in MK and MK2. Probably because they were a pita to pull of on my Amiga Competition Pro 5000 joystick…. 😆
Nice video! The MK3-UMK3 fatalities were so over the top. 3-4 skulls, multiple rib cages, floating forearms, etc. My brother and I ran through some fatalities for UMK3 this weekend, we played against one another and used the Kombat Kodes to reduce 1 player to 1/4 health to help us get more practice in, hehe.
Contextually it's the worst but honestly it's just so over the top & insane that it really can't be the worst for me personally haha. I'd say Lui Kang's MK1 Fatality is the worst imo.
Far from a Master compared to some of the others I’ve seen playing recently on here, but I enjoy the game regardless and will never stop playing lol thanks for the comment 👊🏼
i love the fatalities from the first 2 games. you can tell at mk3 they had to make it cartoonish and less realistic/graphic from the pressure of Joe Lieberman and the Clinton admin.
Very much agree and I just always imagine how good they would have/could have been without that ridiculous pressure. We’ll never know but at least MK paved the way !
Teens nowadays wouldn't understand how awesome were these fatalities back then. Today gory stuff is normalized and whatever, not big deal, but back then everything aimed for kids was very family friendly, so no one, nor your parents nor yourself would think that this kind of violence would appear in a videogame ever. Hardcore MK1-3 fan and your cabinet room looks SO cool , extremely jealous! There is nothing that gives the same nostalgia like playing on an actual cabinet. It sucks being so good at it doesn’t it? Lol my brother used to lose his mind when we played together, so much so that I would purposely lose (I’d act like I was trying) just to calm him down lol
I always enjoyed using MK2's Shang Tsung to freeze the enemy with the first half of Sub-Zero's fatality, change back, turn into Reptile, and then eat their frozen head with his fatality. It took so much effort and really impressed your friends, not to mention it looked glitchy as hell.
Reptile's fatality I replayed 10 times just to hear the sound design. The WHIP of the tongue catching the head, the CRUNCH, and the Mmmmm as he rubs his tummy
I would have put Kung Lao as no.2 But I'm surprised Raiden from MK1 didn't make the list. I would have dropped either scorpions clones of mustards helicopter for that one
Yeah. Thanks for making this video and the shout out. Appreciate it. I like your Top 10 list. My list would be kind of similar with some variations.. My Top 6 are: 6. Jax - Arm Rip (MK2) 5. Baraka - Stab Lift (MK2) 4. Liu Kang - Dragon (MK2) 3. Raiden - Electric Decapitation (MK I just love this one. Especially the sound) 2. Kung Lao - Hat Slice (MK2) 1. interesting note - the scorpion 'legion' fatality was only available on arcade and Sega Saturn ports of UMK3, he does not have this finisher in any of the versions of MK Trilogy - which totally sucked cos that was one of my favourite finishers, especially pulling it off at the arcades and blowing people's minds with it!!
The legion fatality is in MK Trilogy N64 along with the flame breath and the hell hand fatalities. All other ports of MKT do not have the legion fatality.
I think because alot of people were excited to see him as a playable character. He’s not the first person I used I don’t think but he’s the first person I noticed when I saw the character select screen for the first time.
I like the combo fatalities. Liu kang spin kick to uppercut into the acid pool or pit in MK 2. or sub zero upper cuts the frozen opp into the acid pool. I think for liu kang because the spin kick never looked like a fatal hit so adding the pit makes it look really nice.
Cool vid again!! In my top 10 it would def have Mileena, as it was the first fatality I actually pulled of. The one where she eats her opponent and spits out the bones. She has cool moves as well.
The story reason why Liu Kang's MK1 Fatality is bad is because he's a Shaolin and they're supposed to respect all life or something like that. It was a John Tobias idea iirc.
I always hated that Scorpion fatality because of the fade to black. I remember trying to find codes that would show you what happenes lol I think it was an urban legend at the time that such a code exists.
I loved the rumours that surrounded this game back in the day. There was no way to confirm whether they were true or not, and that added to the mystery.
The actual reason Jax has metal arms in 3 is cause they’re metal sleeves. Nothing bad happened to him at all lol. I believe this is confirmed in his character bio. Later games and stuff did like to rip his arms off though. I like both reasons, they work well for different tones. It is funny that Jax gets his arms ripped off in later games considering he’s the one who started ripping peoples arms off in the first place.

Liu Kang's MK1 fatality may have been a bit underwhelming, but using it on the pit stage was pretty awesome. If I remember right, it would cause the opponent to leave the top of the screen, and fall into the pit at a much higher rate of speed, even outrunning the camera. It was definitely a treat when you pulled it off. Side note, I'd love to see your "glitch fatality" on the pit stage.
When I played MK2 in arcades I would always try to experiment with fatality combos . Play as Shang tsung morph to sub zero do the freeze fatality then morph into someone else and do their fatality. Have you ever tried that and if not can you do a video of it?
When I was younger playing I used to experiment with that kind of thing all the time. There’s a lot of “glitches” because of this, I remember a couple I can definitely post a video showing them in time. Thank you 👊🏼
My favorite fatalities were the Sonya's fatality from MK1 and Mileena's one from MK2 where she eats her opponent. It's because those were the only ones I could do lmao.
great top list i totally agreed with your choices too as for me if i get to choose 1 fatality for each game from the original trilogy mk games i'll say, Mk1 is Subzero (best one indeed) , MK2 Kitana kiss of death ( which is funny) and umk3 is kabal's scream ( lets all admit that it used to scare the living heck out of us lol)
Hello sir can you make a tutorial all finishing moves at all characters in mortal kombat series on all platforms like arcade machine, snes, etc? And can you make a cheats tutorial in the same all Mortal Kombat games series?
If you enjoy MK and aren’t a hardcore gamer then absolutely. The machine does have minor flaws in my opinion but I get a ton of fun out of it. Definitely get the 30th Anniversary cab OR The Deluxe Cab if you wanna play online. The one I use in the video isn’t online and will run you around 300-500 used, 500-700 new and the 30th Anniversary cab 600-800 new. I did have to replace the monitor on my 30th with a better one because the one included was horrible.
@@BushyStallion perfect, thank you. I use pretty much all the mini consoles ( cough, cough,) to play almost everything, but nothing beats the feeling of the buttons and stick of an arcade machine, though my family will get upset with the clack noise after awhile so controllers it is for now, but one day. Sound proof man cave.
Great choice for number 1. On the Sega version the opponent head is facing on the side while the arcade version the head is facing the camera. I think Liu Kang have the silliest fatality on MK 3 with that arcade machine lol.
I don't know why they thought the Liu Kang cart wheel was a fatality when it just looks like a special move he should have during the fight. I think if it was a regular special move it would be as iconic as the bicycle kick.
I'm addicted to retro MK content and this channel is perfect! Thanks for the excellent videos.

@@BushyStallion yeah, I played the Sega Genesis versions (emulator) and couldn't figure out what those X Y Z buttons were. I was a dumb kid😅
Yeah that Sub Zero fatality is one of my favorites too!
great top list i totally agreed with your choices too
as for me if i get to choose 1 fatality for each game from the original trilogy mk games i'll say, Mk1 is Subzero (best one indeed) , MK2 Kitana kiss of death ( which is funny) and umk3 is kabal's scream ( lets all admit that it used to scare the living heck out of us lol)
Definitely awesome Finishers. That Kitana kiss I really like, it was a hard list for me to do to be honest.
Hello sir can you make a tutorial all finishing moves at all characters in mortal kombat series on all platforms like arcade machine, snes, etc? And can you make a cheats tutorial in the same all Mortal Kombat games series?
Sounds doable. Thanks for the suggestion 👊🏼
I kind of wish they'd show the Scorpion Legion one. 25 fatalities all at once would look sick
Kabal's UMK3 head inflation was pretty funny too...
I’ve always debated on getting a 1up arcade machine , and I was very surprised to see the MK machine has online play. How active is the multiplayer?
He's making me wanna get one really bad...
In all honesty it’s not very active for the MK cabs. The Street Fighter online cabs is a different story however.
How about a tutorial on all fatalities mk1 mk2 umk3
For me personally Kano's heart rip from OG MK is my fav, Sub Zero's spine rip is a damn close second.
Damn, how many games does that machine have on it. What would you recommend as a 1st buy. ( ps I'm Canadian) for pricing and availability.
Scorpion that was my favorite n smoke blowing up the world I use to know it on trilogy for n64
I don't know why they thought the Liu Kang cart wheel was a fatality when it just looks like a special move he should have during the fight. I think if it was a regular special move it would be as iconic as the bicycle kick.
