another fun fact: Signal wasn't orignally meant for twice comeback after knock knock. It was Very Very and twice members already practiced and got their own part of the choreo . But JYP gave it to I.O.I instead
So many people were not a fan of Signal when it first came out, and that was further fueled by the fact that it went on to win song of the year. But I love it! It’s funky, groovy, and oh so funny
I think it's fair to say that Signal is the most divisive song of Twice. While it did hit no. 1, it only sold half of what their other no. 1s sold. But the people who like Signal really like the song (it's the equivalent of Wolf for Exo-Ls.)

These two are among my top favorites of their early cutesy era. “Knock Knock”’s ceaselessly-building “Shepherd’s Tone” just propels the song’s energy. And I love the bouncy, bassy big band jazziness of “Signal.” The little vocal warble as Jeongyeon’s face squeakily slides down the window is my favorite little additional touch.

I am #1 signal enjoyer. I love it. It's fun, it brings happiness. It's just pure joy. It's my favourite TWICE song. Also, Jeongyeon's voice is totally everything!!!

I love Signal so much, the whole dance is amazing. Also, this was when Chaeyoung cut her hair without permission from the company because she wanted it to be like Kristen Stewart. So here hair was really short and the stylists had to work with it lol
Twice was destined for stardom since the beginning. Their debut song was even chosen by netizens as the best debut song for a Kpop GG. It is imperative that you check out all the stage performances of their songs as they have such amazing productions and stage presence. Twice stage performances are truly stunning and so well done! There will never be another group like Twice. They truly are a once in a lifetime gift to the world :)
Knock Knock has this nostalgic vibe to it that I really love. It's one of their most underrated songs. Han calling that Signal was going to be about an alien is pretty iconic of her, tbh.
Jeongyeon? Yes, Jeongyeon, love her. Also signal's one of my favessss. The choreo, the music, and the mv.

Signal doesn't deserve the hate. It's quirky and unique, which makes it one of my top Twice title tracks. When it comes to quirkiness, I can always trust Twice and Red Velvet.

Some bits, knock knock is like a flashback of TT. It shows here that they got stuck out in the snow died of hypothermia then becomes the ghost shaped like characters in "TT". In "knock knock" Jihyo has knee injury hence she is riding/sitting on that toy car.
They have a comeback on March 10th! Their 12th mini album! They're also going to be in LA on March 1st for the Billboard Women in Music Awards (they're getting the Breakthrough award). Also they're starting another world tour later this year and I HIGHLY recommend going to one if you can. I went to their LA encore concerts at Banc of California Stadium and the energy was CRAZY. Imagine 3.5 hrs of non-stop TWICE and the audience pumped up the WHOLE time. No one wanted to leave, not even TWICE!

Not only that Signal is that good, but also the entire mini album is one of their best mini albums. Such a masterpiece.
knock knock is one of the songs some people don't like because it's "too cute" and twice was very misjudged back then but this song is one of my top favorite, all of the olders songs has a deep place in my heart. the instrumental, vocals and dance makes me feel so nostalgic that I actually teared up a few times listening and cry once.
also, i think the thing about knock knock mv is that they had a sleepover at that house and something knocked on the door, they found the book and thought it was fun, once started snowing they went outside to play because who wouldn't and when the clock hits 12AM the door close and the book turned out to be magical, because of this they became scared because it's cold outside so they come running to the house but it won't open, then the book transforms the house into the halloween house from tt and puts the girls as the characters in the book. there's the theory that they died from the cold and in tt they are ghosts haunting for trick or treats
also because i think the kids that come to the house in tt to trick or treat remind them of themselves in knock knock so they play with the kids because of that

2017 was probably the most fun I had as a ONCE. Knock Knock and Signal were so good and made me fall for these girls so hard. Signal went on to collect Song Of The Year! :)

Do you know that Knock Knock came out after TT but both of the songs were actually connected and the storyline starts with Knock Knock and then move to TT. Its like a multiverse kind of story hahaha..
I believe, it is a general consensus among Kpop fandoms that, even if you are not a fan of Twice, when you watch their MV's you end up smiling/laughing alot.

after all these years, Knock Knock is still my ultimate fave Twice song...
As you may notice jihyo is out on most of the dance choreo on this mv, the fact that she is riding a car on the first part is because of her recent knee surgery which she is recovering when this mv was shot.
Jihyo is in a car for a lot of Signal because she had an ankle injury at the time

yes!! i remember not a lot of people (from whom i interacted with) were big fans of Knock Knock and it's one of Twice's more forgotten songs, but i remember loving everything about it from day 1, from MV to dance to beat and especially lyrics! makes my heart all warm and fuzzy to see you guys have such an immediate and overwhelmingly positive reaction to it ^^
also, about the ending of Knock Knock, from what i understood is: the girls were having a sleepover, as you will, when they hear a knock on the door (after JYP, we'll just ignore that) and there's a book on the floor. they pick it up, there's all these characters and pictures and etc. when they go out to have a snowball fight after it started snowing, the book reveals itself to be magical, the characters inside it transport into the real world and turn the whole house into a sort of "halloween dimension realm", which is what we see in TT. the knocks on the door at the end of TT are not only a nod to what the next comeback would be (Knock Knock) but it's also the girls, trapped/locked outside in the snow, knocking and trying to get back inside their house.
there was a lot of comments and fun surrounding the end of TT and the Knock Knock comeback when they released, because at the time, I.O.I (a temporary girl group formed on the first edition of Produce 101 -- and which started all the Produce hype) had just disbanded and one of its most popular members and a JYP Ent. trainee, Somi, was "coming home". at that time, there were a lot of theories and conspiracy that thought Somi might be joining Twice as a 10th member, because of the knocks at the end of TT and the surprised faces of the kids staring into the camera (i.e., looking at who was the person knocking). that, plus the fact that the TT album (Twicecoaster: Lane 1) had a song called "1 to 10" in it, made everyone lose their collective shit over that possibility. in the end, however, no such thing happened and fans laughed it off at the conspiracy insanity that went down during the time between TT and knock knock's releases lmao Somi nowadays is a solo artist under YG Ent.'s Black Label, btw

Dude these girls are amazing I usually don't like this kind of Music but Twice (just K - Pop overall) does it so well, legit Knock Knock is so underrated and I agree with y'all it's very good and them coming down the stairs was just Adorable (also love the Jeongyeon love, she deserves it) just everything about Knock Knock was fantastic and dude Mina with that wavy hair is lethal, they all are! Okay Signal at first I wasn't sure how I felt about it but now I legit sing it out of nowhere like legit I just start singing it and doing that little hand movement thing (speaking of hand movements you're going to see Tzuyu doing the Helicopter a lot), it's actually very catchy and yeah them falling in love with each other and aliens is not weird you'll get used to it! 🤣😂

The era started with "Signal" is the second 'cute phase' in which they experiment more musically and ends with "The best thing I ever did".
What comes from "Fancy" onwards is the story they are currently living in: the mature era.

Twice songs in this era are so addictive and cute with just a trace of minor key melancholy in their melodies that give an almost nostalgic vibe that just grabs you and won't let go. The hook and vibe of Knock Knock is still my all-time favorite of theirs, and that's some pretty tough competition. And then, of course, there's Jeongyeon!

Once you watch the MV's more, you'll realize that a lot of it is like small bloopers or TWICE just being TWICE. In this one specifically, when Sana is hit by the pillow, you can see Jeongyeon falling down because of laughter!! and protecting Tzuyu from the members throwing pillows. i love watching you guys get to know and love twice! they got me into kpop and bring me so so much joy. also fun fact: twice has literally never made a bad song, theyre the only group aside from le sserafim that ive never disliked a song from and they have so many songs at this point with many more to come!! theres so much content to get to know them well and they really feel so much different to me from other groups. their bond is incredible and its always very evident when theyre together or even just talking about eachother.

I’m binge watching this whole playlist, and i just have the goofiest grin on my face everytime you two fangay over the girls; it reminds me of how i was for every comeback I’ve witnessed. I’ve been into Twice since December 1st of 2017, Cheer Up being my first ever K-pop song, and I’ve been in love ever since. Initially Tzuyu was my bias, then Momo biaswrecked me and now I’ve just come to the conclusion that OT9 are perfect in every way. So glad to see such wonderful reactions to these angels

I'm so glad you liked Signal on first listen. It was very divisive when it released but it's very sentimental to me. It was my first Twice comeback and it's the song that made me a flown blown K-pop fiend. I was watching any Twice content I could find and branching out to all the groups I could. I can't believe it's been almost 6 years since then, but it was probably the best summer of my life.

I really enjoy how much you like the cuteness. Many people just assume cute femininity = lame/fake/bad/shameful. Having a happy fun aesthetic feels rare lately and I was drawn to just that atmosphere.

Signal has a special place in my heart because I think it was the most recent comeback when I was at that stage in my relationship, trying to drop hints I was interested and trying to figure out if they liked me back. I related to the lyrics so much, and the hook always got stuck in my head.
