- Since the day Unicron floated serenely through those two binary stars and into our lives, before unleashing his wrath on lithone, I'd been asking where this guy came from. Over the years, it has had a few explanations in transformers lore, and in this video I discuss Primacron, Primus, Shockwave and the Antillan, as well as what happened after his eventual destruction.

Props to Starscream for, after his literal disintegration, returns as a ghost, double-crosses a COSMIC ENTITY, and actually SUCCEEDS in getting a new body while Unicron gets the short end of the deal.

My favorite origin story is definitely the Marvel Transformers story, both Primus and Unicron being created by a literal god, which would also make them gods and not just machines that were created

Indeed. The idea Primus couldn't defeat Unicron without vast destruction so tricked him into crashing his spirit into an asteroid and over billions of yeras Unicron formed his monster planet form and Primus into Cybertron and the Transformers a race destined to eventual confront and defeat Unicron.

The first movie was by far my favorite appearance of Unicron, outside of the cosmic destroyer origin. And while I didn’t appreciate it at first since I was around 5 the first time I saw Unicron, having him voiced by Orson Welles was a masterful choice. Just his voice alone was enough to send shivers down your spine.
Loved the idw comic one the most. Also the whole splitting Unicron into multiple non connected versions kind of explains the different versions of him throughout the movies, shows & comics.
Shockwave creating Unicron is the most badass thing I've ever heard in my entire life.

My favorite version is the IDW one because it works so well with the theme of the cybertronian history of imperialism haunting future generations. The entire galaxy hated transformers because they were seen like the Reapers from Mass Effect: nigh-immortal aliens of unfathomable power that only exist to muck with lesser life forms.
Unicron was teased nearly 13 years before his debut, only to never have really existed. That alien took the form of Unicron in revenge.
IDW cybertronians screwed up so bad another civilization manifested their devil.
I had no idea transformer's lore was so insane until I came across your channel.
IDW and Prime versions of Unicron are my favorites.
Especially the latter, since it was the first version of the character to turn out to be the Earth, which Bayformers then ripped off.
Unicron being earth was silly IMO. It makes him next to useless compared to his other forms and makes to mucb of the Transformers lore revolve around earth.
How does it make him useless though? Because you simply don’t like the idea and expect him to devour entire planets in robot mode to satisfy your inner child? Earth is the most important planet in the franchise next to cybertron and is a perfect way to explain how cybertronians and their relics keep ending up there. It just seems like your mad the story didn’t go the way you wanted it to
Imagine Optimus uses the matrix to kill Unicron just like rodimus prime did. Then prime says "light our darkest hour" that'll be so cool to see in the live action
Imagine if Unicron was actually Primus that crazed within millenias of loneliness. And matrix is just a copy of his former self sealed.

Unicron was the 1st fictional entity that introduced me to the concept of planet busters and planetary genocide/ omnicide. Not star wars. Transformers.

I like how Japaneese G1 is the most complex. Like, they have all those universes, Convoys, remember original cartoon and STILL manage to place it in one continuity
There was a quote in the idw when Unicron was revealed it went like "welcome death. Unicron." Or something like that I might of missed a part of the quote

So my Evangelion Headcanon origin: the One/The Source/G One is how Primus remembers the First Ancestral Race, the beings that seeded life across the galaxy with the Moons, Primus Himself being the Seed of Life in the Silver Moon. Primacron was originally a member of this race but was banished due to his tampering with Robotic Lifeforms and creating the impurity that would become Unicron and had his soul placed in the Monkey/Ewok body we see in the show. Eventually the Silver Moon crashed on its intended primordial planet but the impact Broke a piece off, in that instant Primus expelled Unicron into that piece and they formed into Twin Planets around the same sun. Unicron became a Dark Reflection of Primus, all the same godlike power, but no souls or ability to create life.
Also, in this headcanon, the Precursor World from the Japanese Generations Selects manga with the Primus Vanguard being the Dream Primus Dreamed before his Moon landed on what would become Cybertron and may or may not be the Afterspark or what they experience after returning to the Well of All Sparks. Also the Specters are the early points of corruption that would become Unicron.
" This is Unicorn! The Earth will soon be a part of me."
The Technobots are just awesome. Built by a genius Grimlock out of the remains of Unicron’s head. That’s pretty badass.
I didn't care for IDW's explanation of Unicron - but he was MASSIVE. I dare say the biggest incarnation ever.

Im really hoping that movie is succesfull, my fears are because the mivie is 3 HOURS AND 40 MINUTES LONG, NOT EVERYONE LIKES SITING IN A CINEMA THAT LONG, but at least that means the movie is long enough for decepticons and predacons to still make an aperance even though the Trailer didnt Show any of it yet

The Marvel G1 origin is the one I've always preferred.
And the g1 cartoon origin has always been my least favourite.
I hate the G1 cartoon origin but l don't like the others either. They should have just left his origins unknown in the cartoon as it completely diminished his character by having his creator be a stupid little space monkey...the only good thing about that episode was the uniquely cool artwork & animation style.
Also in the TF prime movie he introduced himself as the lord of the dead and turned an entire legions worth of predacon fossils into terrorcons
According to the G1 transformers movie Unicron did escape and had the transformation of a planet then seeks to have revenge on Cybertron who happens to be Primus himself, even though Primus is no longer a cybertronian God, Unicron has the advantage to destroy him Primus as a planet, right?

Odd Origins...I prefer a more benign Origon Theory...Unicron started out as a Vaccum Cleaner with a strong enough AI to do its job and take care of itself...well a lot can happen in a few million years and that original prime directive even after He gained Sentience is still in there...just on a much larger scale

G1 Unicron's size is an absolute smorgasbord of continuity errors.
The Hobby Japan says he is about the size of Jupiter.
But he is smaller than Cybertron.
And Cybertron in the cartoon is smaller than Earth.
And we all know about Earth and Jupiter
This means that either Earth in G1 is larger than Jupiter by a very large margin, or Unicron shrinks more when going from Planet to Robot mode than Soundwave turning into a cassette player.
I still to this day cannot figure out why on earth the writers of the G1 cartoon series made Cybertron smaller than earth...I choose to put that down to animation errors & ignore it.
Unicron wasn't done in G1 after the episode "Grimlocks New Brain" centuries later Unicron would return in Beast Wars Neo nearly succeeding in making Cybertron his new body and.corrupting Vector Sigma. It was only Big Convoys Maximals along with an assist from Lio Convoy that was able to stop Unicron.
If Season 4 of the G1 cartoon hadn't ended with "Rebirth". Plans for Season 4 had the Quintessons entering into an alliance with Unicron to rebuild the Chaos Bringer.

Starscream did not take metroplexes transforming Cog for unicron's body he took metroplexes eyes. But they broke one of Metroplex has eyes so they had to go steal a knife from Trypticon then they had to go back and steal triptykon to steal his transforming COG

Unicron ATE planets, Tornadron absorbed all energy, leaving planets dark and inert.
Tornadron did not use mind control, and there was no mind control in the episode, Primacron's assistant "Escaped to this dead world." and summoned the 'Primitives as he called them, because their instincts could possibly be a counter to Primacron's intelect.

As someone who only knew of the transformers from the movies i had no idea of a this lore. I'm watching all your videos to know everything i can about the transformers
So far I have heard so many, many bad rumours about the movie of Rise of the Beasts so I just hope the new Unicron version doesn´t screw the franchise
