Community rallies to give legally blind man rides to work

  • In Cabot, Arkansas, store janitor Bill Moczulewski would walk five miles, in any weather, to work the overnight shift at the local Walmart. A couple years ago, Christy Conrad saw Moczulewski out walking and offered him a ride. When she found out Moczulewski is legally blind, she started a Facebook group, Mr. Bill's Village, so that others could offer him a ride, too. Steve Hartman reports on the overwhelming response.

      Because the media gets more eyeballs showing racial, sexual and controversial stories. More eyeballs = more ad dollars, more ad dollars= raise/promotion. Follow the money. Why do think Hartman's segment is the last one, if it was so great for the network, it should be the First segment. It is all a very biased game- open your eyes to the reality and the truth which you do NOT get form the MSM.

  • @jojopuppyfish

    Why does he live so far away from where he works? Why does American separate where we live from where we work? We we build societies that aren't walk-able and bike-able, that requires society to constantly require a car to go everywhere for our basic amenities. Cars are very expensive to buy, to maintain to insure. They pollute our air that we breathe. And the drives excessively speed constantly putting pedestrians cyclists and other drivers at risk. How about a society for Mr. Bills of the world where work is within walking distance at an affordable living expense. Is that too much to ask America?

    • @Therealhtrinity
      @Therealhtrinity 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Cars are a symbol of freedom. Not everyone wants to live in the big cities. It seems that zoning laws come into play.

    • @jojopuppyfish
      @jojopuppyfish 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@Therealhtrinity 1) Most people live in big cities 2) Small towns could benefit from walkable and bikeable mixed-user neighborhoods too, BTW. 3) Owning a car is both freedom and slavery. Freedom to drive everyone wherever and whenever you want. Slavery because it takes a car to get everywhere. And slavery because you are slavery to the amount of expenses you have to pay to maintain your lifestyle.
      Its actually Bill that is free. Doesn't own a car. Doesn't pay for insurance, gas, maintenance. So he gets to keep much more of his paycheck than all the people driving the automobile to pick him up. And Bill is thin. So he's probably saving on medical expenses too.

    • @Therealhtrinity
      @Therealhtrinity 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@jojopuppyfish Freedom to choose is utmost. You have valid points. We all choose our sacrifices and trade offs. Yes we do need more sidewalks etc.
      It’s so nice his neighbors can come together for Bill like this 🥰 And that we can share ideas like this. Thanks for your input. I’m not so eloquent with words atm.
      Take care, and enjoy your day. ☺️

    This is not a feel good story. This is a reflection of lack of basic social services, something as basic as decent public transit, all over this country. This guy's story is not unique, and for folks that actually take public transit in this country (outside Northeast and Chicago), this is all too common. Folks struggling to get by, that can't afford a vehicle, and/or have medical condition that they can't drive.

    Perfect southern hospitality and caring individuals, who look out for one another, I lived in Mississippi for 19 yrs. April 21, 2013, I had my first of 4 heart attacks, it was the worst one, they had to open me up and fix me, afterwards, when I came home and was recovering, I had so many ppl who would either stop by the house, or call me, or my wife, and ask if we needed anything, we would be out in the community, and ppl would ask how I was doing and feeling, in general, ppl do care for one another, it's just human nature
