- Have you ever had a hard time fixing the white balance in your footage? In this video I'm going to show you how to fix the white balance in your footage without using the color white! This trick I learned from Denver Riddle at Color Grade Central. I have found this to be much better for me to use instead of using the auto white balance fixing tools inside video editing software. Drawing the mask is too time-consuming. Just use the crop tool. Besides lighting on skin can affect your adjustments so you shouldn't do the whole face. Like a blowout forehead will mess with the adjustment.
That’s a good idea with cropping. I will have to give that a try next time!
@@JakeMcHugh Yeah use the crop and just make it small enough to show the middle exposure of the face, but then you can move the cropped area around the face/skin parts to see if the skintone line is consistent on the vector and find some middle ground. Remember, bright areas of the skin will react differently than darker areas, and also makeup, dirt etc will affect the line.
