Pointless comparison, different lenses for different purposes. 14 Vs Olympus 15 would be better.

I own and have used the VXR10 for shooting race cars with loud exhaust, the Movo will clip and distort with the loud audio. I can’t find its maximum SPL rating anywhere, but the Rode has a 140 decibel SPL, and should be able to handle the louder environments better, in theory.

g85 autofocus looks garbage

is the 180d bit shutter speed? and i no longer have a 60p option in REC Quality but can't work out why. Any ideas? thanks

I think the Movo picks up more ambient noise in outdoor.

I love mine making videos is very important and it does not disappoint!

I love my G85, the size and image quality do it for me eventually I will upgrade to blacmagic or a GH6

Funny, that. These are exactly the two lenses I used for my very first short film (see my profile to watch). The 25mm came with the camera bundle for my GH5II, and I got the 14mm to shoot the establishing shot of the short, because the 25mm didn't fit everything in, thanks to the location being a very small space. For portraits and closeups, I really love the 25mm. I think you could easily shoot an entire film on these two lenses.

sorry but the gradings look just plain awful

I also use these blankets I also used 2mm floor underlayment on them for sound proofing my windows.and doors.

I like v log. For normal shoot was using the natural profile but I don’t like the colors if color correction to use / so checking others😅

No it is not even close to human eye. Just the field of view. But human eyes are close to 43-45mm no matter on what system you put such lens. Just the crop will be different.

The autofocus of the GH5 seems to be sufficiently good (with the tested firmware) if you know what you are doing as a filmmaker. What I like with the GH5 is the plethora of video features. And let us not forget the cheaper and smaller lenses. I also like the open gate feature. Therefore a perfect beginner video camera in 2023 if your budget is below $1000.

Thank you for the comparison. Looking for a first camera, mainly for short documentaries (interview indoor/outdoor, walking and filming) and for photography (secondary use). Sony a6400 video in your test looks nice, amazing auto focus. However as you said gimbal may be needed for steady image. Perhaps in post-prod you GH5 can produce better video.. I just wonder if as a beginner I should start focus on all parts... or first on shooting/story/compositions etc. In the future more on post prod?

All the differences between the two mics - loudness, background noise etc - can be attributed to the fact that the Movo simply has more low end. At least, that's my opinion.
