Your channel has been motivating me to visit Japan and experience it for myself. However, I've gone a step above that and I've managed to land a job in Japan and I'll be moving this year! I just want to thank you for all your hard work and thank you for showing the true Japan! 💕 (And yes before anyone asks I've researched the pros and cons of living there and made the decision based off of multiple factors aside from just wanting to go there)
1. Oh yeah? Rambalac's channel has motivated you to visit Japan Tayyo? Tell me about it! His videos have motivated me to start studying Japanese, a language that I never ever thought of studying before... but here I am now trying to learn Hiragana! And it's all Rambalac's fault! 2. 7:50 "Africa" by the Toto. As beautiful today, 2019, as it was when it was published in 1982. 3. It's interesting to see this quieter urban Japan without bright lights or fantastic shops. 4. The mini-snowman at 16:43 made me chukle. 5. 32:35 This image looks like some old traditional Japanese painting.
I have watched your videos back in my country, dreaming that maybe someday I could live in Japan. Now, I am currently living in Japan I'm still watching your videos. Your videos truly a reminiscence along with my live journey. Bless you forever!
These videos actually help with my anxiety problems and help me sleep. I'm so Happy found this channel. Thank you very much for making these videos. Don't ever stop. Now I REALLY want to visit Japan and maybe even work there....
Dear Rambalac: Very beautiful video!!! The last images from the heights bring me memory the ancient illustrations of the Japanese fables where the beautiful valleys and pine forests are taken with the same perspective that your beautiful drone did, but they, did it with the drone of their imagination and the beautiful camera was the black or ocher ink and the brush. Japanese culture is characterized by its exoticism, its particular way of conceiving existence and the importance of our senses to discover beauty in everything that surrounds us, just like you doto share so kindly with us, dear Rambalac :-)) Thank you for sharing so much beauty with such good will day after day with us Mil ***** for you :-))
Once again, you have created something wonderful. I am so taken by your videos I see them as performance art for life in Japan. They belong in a gallery. I mean REALLY! All I can say is, Thank you. Your efforts to offer quality uploads are very much appreciated.
Bellissimo video di una cittadina innevata, senza strade sporche, e senza un'ombra di giapponesi ahahahah Sul finale uno sguardo sulla città da mozzare il fiato e anche altro. Bravo
I love your video's. They're always so peaceful to watch and the image is always so clear. It really gives a good perspective of about how Japan really looks like. Tnx to your video's I've seen alot of places in real life as well. Keep up the good work. 😉👌
Lovely video Rambalac! Especially love the drone footage. So few people you met while on your walk. I read somewhere that Tokyo area keeps attracting more and more of the population. Makes me sad that lovely little towns like this have so few residents ☹️

Unusually less snowy than I thought, this was one of the snowiest city in all of Japan yet the streets still clean and dry enough? I mean I went to Asahikawa last year and that was so snowy that they have a hard time keeping the snow away from main streets. This place on average snowed almost twice the Asahikawa's average yet this was it? I don't want to sound all gloomy but the weather's been real weird this past months. Tokamachi average 417 cm of snow in January. Asahikawa average 174 cm snow in January.
I was thinking "Let's go to the emerald roof thing over to the left" and when he turned left I was pleasantly surprised to find it was a Buddhist temple! It's really beautiful! How did I know it was Buddhist? The smoke pot out front! It's a tradition to purify oneself with the smoke. Fun little fact for y'all. Have a good day!
I couchsurfed on the outskirts of this town and will never forget it. It was a sort of commune, populated by some very relaxed Japanese and an American, who was writing a novel. It was winter and we all spent most of our time sitting around a row of mismatched kotatsu; talking, working, napping, eating. We ate mostly things that they had pickled from their veggie garden or the surrounding forest before the snow fell, with rice and dashi and sauces etc. I slept on a mattress in the big old attic, it was spacious but comfortable--strewn with mattresses, lamps and fabric draped over old wooden beams here and there for privacy. There was someone else snoring lightly in the far corner but I never saw them downstairs. The day I left I was weighing up whether to splurge on a local specialty soba restaurant, when a group on a work trip from Nagano, who had already had a lot to drink, were begging me to join them for their expenses paid meal. The soba and sake were delicious and plentiful, and these people were some of the most down to earth and hilarious that I've ever met. The butt of many of the jokes was this office junior at whom the most senior guy was constantly taking good-spirited jabs. When I left I took photos and in one of them the senior has the junior in a hearty headlock. The junior is doing his bit by sticking his tongue out and rolling his eyes back. They took me to my train station, which was a strange thing, far from anything else, you walked straight down about 200 stairs underground and waited in a small concrete bunker looking waiting room until a kind of airlock opened just as the train arrived. The feeling of the town itself came back to me with this video. It has a kind of sad and private feeling. It was a similar feeling at the house--stolid but wistful.
I really liked this particular video...I enjoy seeing the areas that aren't in the middle of the cities. It was so quiet. I assume it was a weekend morning? Thank you for your great videos.
@30:15+ Хорошо бы иметь пропеллер за спиной, как у Карлсона, пусть в ранце... :-) Никакие препятствия не страшны, и летай, куда хочешь, не правда ли? А Японию в январе и феврале таки завалило снегом изрядно...
Tokamachi!? I'm from Nagaoka same prefecture Niigata. Rambac is great Japan mania walking such a country road. Speking of snow, Prefecture Niigata is cool, if you want to play skiing, you only have to do is get the bullet train from Tokyo station and get it off at GALA Yuzawa station with empty hand. By the way, I recommen also Kansai area for sightseeing, yea, thanks. Bon voyage!
I just found you and I decided to subscribe to your channel after I had gone though a few of your videos. Although I am Japanese, I am certain that you are more familiar with Japan. You have been to tons of places I have never visited. I am jealous of you and your videos encourage me to go on a trip. Unfortunately, I live in the US for studying abroad, but I will go to some of the places where you have made videos. Just some of them since I do not think I am able to visit all the places. lol I hope to watch more videos!
Question! what are the drone rules regarding small towns like Tokamachi? if it's pretty relaxed, would it be possible to do a quick fly over the town? or is range still a thing?
It's general rules. Flying in high populated areas or airport areas is prohibited (can be checked by gov map). 150m above the ground (not starting point) max. Flying over private property needs permission. Flying no closer 30m to buildings.
I love your videos! I've been following your channel for a while and in this one, I've noticed at 3:24 the Croatian flag. Do you know why is that? Sorry for bothering but I'm excited to see my country's flag randomly like this.
