Mark, your Clipchamp tutorials have helped me TREMENDOUSLY! Your calm and friendly voice has helped me to finally learn this program, so thank you!!.
Question, I plug in my mic to my laptop and press record in the audio section of Clipchamp. I was wondering if there is a way to voice record through Clipchamp while watching my video so that I can narrate it properly? Thanks!

Thanks so much for your kind remarks!! Unfortunately, when you enter the "Record" mode in Clipchamp, it takes you out of the video editing screen, so there's no way to view the video while you're recording. What you could try is to export just the video portion of your project, then play it back from your desktop using something like Windows Media Player. Adjust the sizing to keep the windows open for both WMP and Clipchamp, then, in the project your video came from, click on "Record & Create", then "Audio". Press the "record" button in Clipchamp, then start playing your video from the separate player. The audio file will be saved to your project, and you can go back after you record and move it around (and/or slice it) to align the audio with the video. I hope this helps!!

@valorexcel Thank you! This should absolutely help! Hopefully you can do more Clipchamp videos in the future, because I am also having a hard time with my MP4 videos uploading with the words "preparing" and it takes 1 hour to load in CC!Have a great day, and thank you!

Nice demo of importing a voiceover with sound. Is it possible to record your voiceover during your video playback while in Clipchamp? When I click on record audio, it shows a blue screen but not my video. It's hard to narrate without seeing the video. Thanks!

Thanks so much!! Someone else asked about this previously and here's what I suggested: Unfortunately, entering the "Record" mode in Clipchamp takes you out of the video editing screen, so there's no way to view the video while you're recording. Very , Very good video on the way to use this software, well done and at a pace we can all follow along and learn, not like so many others that do the presentations so , so fast, you just get lost.. the young ones have no idea how to present a instruction video , one item I cannot find in any video, is how do you readjust or edit the text to speech you have loaded onto the time line , is there some way to return to the text and correct it and place it back into the time line or do I have to delete the first one and redo it all again. Also if there is a limit to how many characters i can do in text to speech is this limit on the whole video or just for each section of text. ??? Thanks

Thanks so much for your kind remarks! Recently, Microsoft Clipchamp made some changes to the layout of the Text to Speech function, so things look a little different now. Once you create a Text to Speech voice track and it's been added to the timeline, you now have access from a toolbar on the right to make edits to what you've already typed. If you need to create a voiceover that exceeds 10 minutes in length, the best option at this point is to make separate videos that contains only Text to Speech (no images), then export them, save them to your desktop, and import them into the media section of Clipchamp. You can then add them to the timeline to make whatever length you need. We're considering putting together an episode in the near future about how to do this.

I am a beginner and getting into sharing my personal videography with Family and Friends...perhaps some on the public platform.
This is an excellent instructional on voice over while maintaining integrity of recorded audio. I also appreciated the coverage on how we can record the narrative and like a video piece split and move the audio clips around to work it into the video timeline. Initially I thought I would need to record voice over and sync my recording...the simple technique of splitting audio and adjusting volumes to balance the mix between audio and voice over is perfect.
    Thank you! 🤙

This is cool!!! I only wished that it was going to use the record and create function. Whenever I try to use that function, my computer video gets stuck in a matrix.
I don't see any links to the voice over programs you mentioned in the description.

Thanks so much! We may do a future episode covering the "Record & Create" options. Also, there are two links in the description. One is for "An Intro to Microsoft Clipchamp", and the other is "How to Record a Voiceover in PreSonus Studio One". I hope that helps!

@@valorexcel I didn't know my own computer had a voice recorder. I saved that as an mp3 and put it into clipchamp after matching up the audio to the closest moment that fit. This video still helped!!

My videos are based on still photos and I've been using ppt and Clipchamp. This works but has some sound problems. Your video will be very helpful for me when experimenting with different voice over options. Thank you for presenting a short, straightforward how-to video.

Fantastic video. You are so easy to listen to and follow. Others tend to whip thru the instructions so quickly that I, being elderly, can not process as fast as they explain or show how to do something. I have done voice over’s on my video’s but prefer to speak as I create my tutorials on watercolors. I have been using Movie Maker for all my videos but it just does not give me the quality I need. I’ll be switching over to ChipChamp after watching your videos. I hope you will continue with more in depth videos using this video editor. Thanks again!
