Sick Pisgah Downhill - Avery Creek Delivers The Goods

  • Avery Creek is a somewhat newer trail to the Pisgah National Forest. It was built by Nature Trails LLC using an old washed out road bench. I was actually working for Nature Trails out here so it was cool to ride some of there work. I actually didn't even know that they had built this trail until after I rode it though.
I think they did a nice job of keeping the raw and somewhat janky feel of classic Pisgah riding with a nice mix of more progressive features. It's a ripping a trail with nice drops, jumps and some optional gaps. I would for sure recommend giving this one a rip if you're out there but be prepared for the pedal out. The last section is flat with creek crossings and a short hike a bike out to the road. Worth it though.
Ridin' with my buddy Bill and his dog Odin. Odin is just over a year old and had really only ran with us riding a couple of times before but he has been a total natural trail dog.
This was actually our last ride in North Carolina before heading over to Knoxville Tennessee.

Just bombing down these trails! Rad shot passing the dog (Owen?) on the left; Solid trail dog! Place looks fun.. Stoked to get back out there with ya!

Yeah Odin is a natural. I felt kinda stupid for not hitting that step down afterwards but oh well. Just wasn’t feeling it when I looked at it

@@ridindirt No shame in your game brother! I’m sure you had it, but if there was a big overshoot risk might have been a heavy huck to flat!

Super fun trail! Looks like that big jump was rebuilt recently because it didn't look that nice in October.

Haven't seen you pass on many features! That jump looked big even on GoPro.
Also have to say, if you WERE feeling the burn from the endless descent, you sure didn't show it. I would have been wiped.

Yeah after the ride I was kinda regretted not hitting it. I’m sure it would’ve been fine but something about it just didn’t feel right so I passed. Maybe next time if I ever go back.
